My Testimonials

November 1, 2005
Let me tell you about the most wonderful woman in the world.
(yes, this one, you jerks!)
I could go on and on about my personal princess, but I'm only able to shirk work for another 30 minutes, so this brief overview will have to do. She puts up with me, takes care of me when I'm sick, makes me food, makes me the occasional piece of clothing, makes me laugh (especially when I'm worked up about something completely irrelevant), is a great audience for me (it's all about me, after all), is patient with me (especially when I lag about giving her a testimonial), is just as big a dork as me (yes, that's a good thing), is beautiful, kind, gentle and as loving as any hopes I could have.

I am blessed to be with her.

Re: what cooking? (in Intellectual Barbarians) Jason, since I do not, in fact, hate you, I feel obliged to tell you that you should never mention this in any region known for its vineyards. Especially in northern California (Sonoma, Napa Valley, Alexander valley). Drink it to your heart's co... read more

Re: what cooking? (in Intellectual Barbarians) Cuban food and waaaay too many cocktails. Company Christmas party, and the last one we'll have together. Free booze and impending separation - boy howdy, does that make for an intense party.

The food was good...I think. Mojitos have mint lea... read more

Re: Jingle Jingle (in Short Attention Span Theaterâ„¢) Thankfully I've had enough cocktails to cushion my brain, otherwise that might've hurt.

I had no idea Spongebob was really Santa. I totally get it now.

Re: A question for the 9/11 folks (in Intellectual Barbarians) Jason, I'm speaking of the average reader's perception, not the actual intent of the message. You seemed to be "conflating the two" . Because I believe that Solari's intent is to effectively communicate a message and not to anger or alienate the... read more

Ambien Prophecies

Holy fuck. We had a big meeting this morning and it was announced that the company would be "restructuring" and our California offices will be closed by Jan. 31. We were then assigned individual meeting times to discuss our places in the restructuring. My meeting wasn't until 10:30, so I tried to work for a while. My beloved cell-mate, Chriss, went in for her meeting and came back a few minutes later with the head of HR and a box. Today ended up being her last day - she was only given ti... read more

I had my first ride on an honest-to-goodness dirt track complete with hills and ruts and all kinds of good stuff. First real get-off (only going about 5mph) and first boo-boos for me and my girl. I came away with a slight scrape on my forearm, she came away with off-kilter handlebars. It made the ride home interesting. I'm dirty and sore and I can't wait to do it again.

Sluggishly tumbling out of bed at the ass crack of dawn (9am – it’s the crack of dawn somewhere). Caffeine, nicotine, phentermine, go! Housecleaning ensues. Mal whips through most of the dirty dishes in record time while I vacuum up the stray drifts of cat hair and scrape up a newly discovered pile of kitty puke. We manage to gather up all of the random crap and stuff it into a bedroom before the family arrives at 11:30. My family arrives in one big clump – mom, dad, brother, and aunt. ... read more

I started a new tribe called True Story - a place to relate any kind of story you want that's happened to you or a "friend". I'm hoping that one person's story might jog other people's memories and they'll share their stories too. I wrote it better in the description, kinda tired now. Any way, everyone is welcome, so feel free to invite anyone you think might enjoy it.

My friend from work posted on Facebook that he needed to find a home for his cat, otherwise he’d go to the pound. So, of course, I talked to my husband and we decided to foster the cat until we could find him a good home. Originally, my mom was going to take him, but after looking at his picture decided not to. I really don’t know why, he’s a beautiful cat. Leo is a five year-old black, long-haired and BIG. I mean, Maine Coon big, with stunning green eyes.

On Monday night Kevin, my ... read more
