</a>
<div>I have been hanging on. I do have an a job in addition to my library job and I have yet to throw myself into it.

I "performed" at Gothla last weekend in Fullerton. By "performing", I mean I "danced" to my entire song even though my hip wrap fell off and I lost a zill. I picked up the zill because I NEEDED it, dammit. Sooooo surprised my boobs didn't fall out.
So, it wasn't one of my best performances. Oh well. I did finally look at the photos and they don't capture my desperation, dammit. :P

I did have a blast being a volunteer and taking (half) a workshop (I was tie-uhd!).
I did get to ride down and stay with some great people, including ZaZa aka (.)(.). and Staribun. You both are awesome!

I saw Tempest a lot and couldn't stop crying when saying "goodbye" again. I guess it's hard when someone you see almost daily moves away.
I get the quivery lip from my Mum. :)

Me and the boyfriend are doing great and he was very supportive during the Gothla trip. I realize he knows me so well and that's kinda scary.

We are going to visit my family near the end of May. I am hoping to make it a memorable trip with visits to various places. I hope to Dillo and Jenna that I can make it down to the DC area. Please don't hate me if I can't make it.

I have not bought my BM ticket yet, but the boyfriend and I have made plans to meet in Reno, post-event. Let's hope the federal tax refund gods can make the dream a reality.

thundercats, ho!!!!!!!!!

    </a>
<div>I'm noticing more and more as the time for people to depart to the playa how wistful I am to go too

All over my small portion of the internet (Tribe, LJ, Yahoo), there's the excitement threads, then the "I've decided last minute to go" threads, the moocher threads, etc.

Then yesterday, while Gary and I were on a walk, Keeks and DeJenerate both stopped and chatted quickly. They talked about how, in two weeks, they'll be sitting on the playa with a cocktail in their hand. I was jumping up and down, squealing in anticipation for them.

I won't be going, but my mind and heart will be with all my playa family who will be there. I'm sure I'll be cooking a lot of bacon that week.

While you're there, please hoist a warm PBR wrapped in dusty bacon for the kids back home. Tip a hippy for those who cannot. Yell "Jenn wants a pony!" to no one in particular.

I'll miss you guys!</div>

    </a>
<div>Ye gods, how I love Blind Faith.

We went to see Steve Winwood a few weeks ago and the show was great. I am so amazed at this guy's talent and his long career in music--he kicks ass. No offense to those other guys in Blind Faith. :P

Then Gary got a DVD of Blind Faith's debut concert, a free show in London's Hyde Park from 1969--omg! wtf! bbq! It made me so nostalgic for something I've never even been part of.

We're going music crazy lately--between the two audio collections from our respective workplaces, we are getting exposed to lots of fun and inspiring music.

We're also going a little nuts on the concert front--this weekend is Lee "Scratch" Perry, next weekend is REO Speedwagon (at the San Mateo County Fair, y'all!), two weeks from then is Matisyahu, then at the end of September, we'll be seeing Heaven &amp; Hell (Sabbath with Dio), Queensryche (always a great show) and Alice Cooper.
We were even wanting to see UB40 so badly that we were going to drive 3 hours to Chumash Casino on a Friday night, but we're going to wait for next year.

I'm so glad to have a partner in crime who loves music just as much or even moreso than I do.
:D

<div>Thanks to Eddie Spaghetti (aka "Eddie Spagbol" in the UK) and his current user picture, I have had this song in my head for the last several hours.

I get my thing in action (Verb!)
To be, to see, to feel, to live (Verb!)
That's what's happenin'

I put my heart in action (Verb!)
To run, to go, to get, to give (Verb!)
(You're what's happenin')

That's where I find satisfaction, yeah! (Yeah!)
To search, to find, to have, to hold.
(Verb! To be bold)
When I use my imagination (Verb!)
I think, I plot, I plan, I dream
Turning in towards creation (Verb!)
I make, I write, I dance, I sing
When I'm feeling really active (Verb!)
I run, I ride, I swim, I fly!
Other times when life is easy
(Oh!) I rest, I sleep, I sit, I lie.

(Verb! That's what happenin')I can take a noun and bend it,
Give me a noun -
(Bat, boat, rake, and plow)
Make it a verb and really send it!
(Show me how)
Oh, I don't know my own power. (Verb!)

I get my thing in action (Verb!)
In being, (Verb!) In doing, (Verb!)
In saying
A verb expresses action, being, or state of being.
A verb makes a statement.
Yeah, a verb tells it like it is!

(Verb! That's what's happenin'.)
I can tell you when it's happenin',
(Past, present, future tense)
Ooh! Tell you more about what's happenin',
(Say it so it makes some sense)
I can yell you who is happenin'!
(Verb, you're so intense)
Every sentence has a subject.
(Noun, person, place, or thing)
Find that subject: Where's the action?
Verb can make a subject sing.)
Take the subject: What is it? (What!)
What's done to it? (What!)
What does it say?
(Verb, you're what's happenin')

I can question, like: What is it?
(Verb, you're so demanding.)
I can order like: Go get it!
(Verb, you're so commanding.)
When I hit I need an object
(Verb, hit! Hit the ball!)
When I see, I see the object
(Verb, hit! Hit the ball!)
When I see,, I see the object
(Do you see that furthest wall?)

If you can see it there, put that ball over the fence, man!
Go ahead. Yeah, all right.
What?! He hit it. It's going, it's going, it's gone!
(What?!)

I get my thing in action.
(Verb, that's what happenin')
To work, (Verb!)
To play, (Verb!)
To live, (Verb!)
To love... (Verb!...)

I'll have two more weeks of packing, unpacking, etc., but next week will end in a weekend trip for my birthday (it's a secret but I think I know where he's taking me). The week after that is the Final Countdown--"do do dooo do! do do do do Dooooo!"

Who is Brain?

<div>So, I got this cute T-shirt that was handpainted for me by someone named Brain.

My playafied mind is preventing me from remembering meeting someone named Brain.

I've done some Tribe searches but haven't come up with any leads.

Can someone please point me to this person so that I may thank them personally?

Thanks.</div>

<div>Burnt to a crisp and craving pork products.

I'm not as depressed as I was last year upon return to Default. In fact, I'm very excited about changes and spending time with my playa family again.

I'm still in awe of all the wonderful people I camped with. I had the greatest campmates you could ask for. I'm going to marry all of you at once!

I really enjoy these people who work hard, play hard, create constantly and love openly.

(Well, not that openly. I really tried to get you all drunk at some point and take advantage of your virtue! ;P)

I'd also like to thank Twitch for the ride to and from BRC. I enjoyed your stories and the company was wonderful.

I'd also like to thank the Mystery Person for the t-shirt that s/he handpainted for me. I was tickled fuschia to receive such a thoughtful gift. :)

Oh, yes, I must add that Iron Rose is thee kick ass camp!!!!

<div>It's time to burn down the old Jenn and let a new Jenn rise from the ashes.

Healthy of mind and body, loving, sympathetic, active, creative, communicative, progressive.

I'm getting rid of the job (finally) and all of the negativity I've gotten this year from people who can't see past themselves to know that there are other people in the world who are affected by their detrimental actions.
I'm getting rid of all the doubts I've had in my past relationships and accepting love and all that other romantic crap. :P
I desire a partner of equal standing who loves me for me and doesn't want to suck out all my energy and make me a lethargic and hopeless bag of flesh.
I want more time with my chosen family so that we can experience the passing days together.

Incincerate (thanks, BK!) the past, embrace the present and ponder and plan for the future.

I'm keeping the big juggs, though. :)

Go ahead--press that reset button.

I now curse thee:

***************************

RULES - Once you've been tagged, you have to write a blog with 8 facts/things/habits about yourself that folks don't know, saying who tagged you. In the end you need to choose 6 people to be tagged and list their names. No tag backs.

***************************
1. I am the eighth of nine kids. We are not all biologically related, but very close due to the lack of space that comes with having a large, combined family.

2. I am a descendant of the Wampanoags that mingled with the settlers to celebrate their first harvest at Plymouth. Read: a card carrying Thanksgiving Injun.

3. I got my driver's license at age 31.

4. I have been in college for 14 years. I know what my major is now (English and Computer Science) and I would like to get a Master's (in Library Science or Literature). At rate I'm going, it will be about 10 more years. :)

5. I write a lot. I have 2 journals/blogs and considering a third.

6. I got my first job at 14 and my second a few months after that and worked both. This is the longest time I've gone without getting a permanent 2nd job.

7. I love water. I grew up on a peninsula (Cape Cod) and went to the beach in the summer nearly every day. If I could live on the coast, I would move there in a minute.

8. Humor is my security blanket. I get that from both my parents. Everytime my mother has told me she has cancer, we always end up laughing about it.
One time she phoned me and said, "I've got good news and I've got bad news. The bad news is that your father fell off the staging at work and the good news is that he got a 8.5 on the landing." :D</div>

<div>I twisted my ankle on a hike this weekend, yet managed to walk another 2-3 miles on the ankle and kept the whininess to a minimum. It was hard to concentrate on the ankle while in the midst of the beauty of nature and such lovely company.
I'm a tough broad, but I really should have played the limp up more for some attention. ;)

Other than that, I think a freakin' awesome time was had--it was great to be surrounded by family, old and new members. ;)

I have a light layer of red clay on my toes--a reminder.

Thank you to all who made it possible and those who participated in making it a memorable and fun weekend--it was difficult to leave.

Got to know some new people.
Watched fabulous dancing.
Got inspired.
Spent time with my friends.
Got a little cracked out at the end and started babbling. I was tired. :)
Finished it all up with a lovely dinner at Pete's Henny Penny and a long talk all the way home.
Spent very little money.
