Ebbin and a Flowin

It's easy to perseverate on the shitty, painful stuff but many great things are happening too.

Womenforwomen.org (brothers and sisters visit this web site)

I already posted this on one of my tribes but I want to spread the word to my friends too.

I just watched a piece last night on 60 minutes which moved me to post this. Please take a minute to visit "Women for Women", a legitimate, vital international NGO which is saving women's lives from the DR Congo, Iraq, Kosovo, Nigeria, Rwanda, Colombia, Sudan, Bosnia and Afghanistan. Right now, thousands of women and young children are being raped and mutilated by rebels in the DR Congo. It is unfathomable. If you weren't already aware, I think you will be equally as moved and concerned.

Visit www.womenforwomen.org/ where you can learn more about these human rights violations, watch videos, sponsor a woman and get involved.

I am so enraged that our country is waging a war in Iraq when our efforts are so desperately needed elsewhere. Should the US play a greater role in bringing an end to the violence in places like the Congo or Sudan? What responsibility do we bare? Thoughts? I'm really curious to hear what you think.

There is so much work waiting to be done...

Reflection and Introspection

The shift started a year ago in Colombia, in a beautiful temple, with divine music, powerful Cofan healers, and a potent brew. The shaman handed me the cup and I gulped it down not knowing how it would change my life, my being, my presence here on Earth. “Buena carrera” or “good path,” he told me and then sent me on my way, literally.

Here I am, a year later, reflecting on the past 25th year of my life realizing that my soul’s wish has been fulfilled. In many ways, I would not choose to relive this year again—grief, transition, loneliness, fear, confusion—but ultimately, it was a gift. It was a catalyst for my needed healing and transformation. For this, I am grateful.

Today, I feel joy to be awake and alive. I feel gratitude for my sound health, strong body and the ability to experience the world around me. I love my evolving feminine self and discovering the Goddess within. It’s really amazing to be a woman! I am so fortunate to reconnect with my roots and be surrounded by my family and friends, both old and new.

I wonder what twists and turns await me over this next year? It can be what we want it to be, this thing called life. I choose to embrace whatever it brings and realize that even the trials are blessings in disguise. Aho.

Becoming a Creator

"Begin as creation, become a creator.
Never wait at a barrier.
In this kitchen stocked with fresh food,
why sit content with a cup of warm water?"~Rumi

Okay, so we create the lives we believe we deserve, right? It's time to express myself through art and creation. I need to find a consistent creative outlet that allows me to release my blocked energy and flourish. This is a priority that I want to manifest and explore.

Great Article

This Is Your Life (and how you tell it)

"Every American may be working on a screenplay, but we are also continually updating a treatment of our own life — and the way in which we visualize each scene not only shapes how we think about ourselves, but how we behave, new studies find. By better understanding how life stories are built, this work suggests, people may be able to alter their own narrative, in small ways and perhaps large ones."

Great article today in the New York Times...check it out...

Vigil for Missing Sailors

Please continue to pray for the missing sailors of the Flying Colors and their families. I went to school with Christine.

Vigil On Friday For Crewmembers Of Flying Colours

(Newport, RI) -- A vigil will be held Friday for four missing sailors with ties to Rhode Island. The families of Jason Franks, Rhiannon Borisoff, Christine Grinavic, and Trey Topping, along with members of the Newport sailing community and other well wishers, will gather from 6:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Newport Shipyard on Washington Street. Franks' parents, Carol and Ron Dale, stressed to the "Providence Journal" that this is not a memorial but a vigil for the safe return of the crew. The four were sailing from St. Thomas, Virgin Islands to Annapolis, Maryland on the Flying Colours when the 54-foot boat hit stormy weather off the coast of North Carolina on May 7th. After a six-day search that turned up nothing, the Coast Guard suspended the search Saturday night. However they have asked others on the water to keep an eye out for the missing boat.

Standing Women

Imagine that millions of us are standing together all over the world on May 13, 2007 . . .The women of Ohio call upon the women of the world, from the day-old babies to our most senior elders, to stand with us to save the world.

Please stand with us for five minutes of silence at 1 p.m. your local time on May 13, 2007, in your local park, school yard, gathering place, or any place you deem appropriate, to signify your agreement with the statement below. We ask you to invite the men who you care about to join you. We ask that you bring bells to ring at 1 p.m. to signify the beginning of the five minutes of silence and to ring again to signify the end of the period of silence. During the silence, please think about what you individually and we collectively can do to attain this world. If you need to sit rather than stand, please feel free to do so. Afterwards, hopefully you and your loved ones can talk together about how we can bring about this world.
