My Testimonials

May 13, 2008
A BIG heart, beautiful hips, and loving energy. I met Sharon before I was able to take my first class with her and she has always made me feel good about myself as a person. It's hard to explain her magnetic passion for dance in words, but it is clearly seen and felt through her dancers when they perform! Since I've had the privilege of taking classes and being surrounded by her and all her sisters, I've been so inspired to work hard at pursuing my dreams in dance. I've not only learned technical moves from Sharon's classes, I've learned a lot about myself, passion, love, and I'm continuing to build confidence. There is so much left for me to learn and I'm grateful to have Sharon as my teacher. "A Great Master, creates Masters."

I simply must thank Miss Sharon, aka Rock Star for all her kindness and the kind words she has spoken of me! She always has a kind word to say about everyone and that is rare in our society. She is truly unique and genuine with a soul made of gold!

Sharon has inspired me as a dancer from the moment I saw her perform. I knew those were the dancin' hips that were meant to teach me tribal! She's one of those people who you see in her element teaching/performing, and you just know she's doing *exactly* what she was meant to do. She started out as my instructor, and as fate would have it became my troupemate, and most importantly my friend. The passion she shows for her calling inspires me to no end. I am truly a blessed girl to have such a beautiful, talented, sharing woman to count among my sisters! I love ya, Sharon! *MMMWAH*

Now on Thursdays *and* Sundays! Hi everyone, Classes are starting up again this week, and I have added a Sunday session for those who found Sunday worked better and/or for people who want to practice their new skills twice a week! My Recent Activity

Re: Organizing a BD Festival! Need tips! (in Tribal Bellydance) Ah I see, a senior project! What a fun and interesting one to do.

Yeah, festival to me implies a recurring event, while hafla implies one-time or irregular. So that may be more what you are seeking.

I wish you lots of luck with it and if you... read more

Re: Organizing a BD Festival! Need tips! (in Tribal Bellydance) Hey Drea,
Have you considered starting out just as a hafla the first year, to see how it goes? A hafla can be a few hours to all day, and can include all the things you suggested, but is a smaller commitment (especially financially). Then you can... read more

Re: ATS question (in Tribal Bellydance) At least in solo dance forms, if one person is behind or struggling, it doesn't affect the ability of others to practice and advance in the class environment. In ATS, if you get someone walking in brand new, and you throw them into group improv, i... read more

Re: Troupes vs. Dance Companies (in Higher Standards in Bellydance) I think most people use "troupe" and "dance company" interchangeably as terms, so that can be a little confusing. What you are describing to me is "student troupe" vs. "professional troupe", and this is done all the time. Unfortunately, no matter... read more

Re: Good Basic Moves (in Tribal Bellydance) Another dead horse, when you do feel ready to teach, do not do it for free. This undervalues the dance and you (wow, it's so easy you can learn for free!), and is undercutting other hard working teachers in your area. Again, there are lots of topi... read more
