There’s this Hendrix verse “if 6’s were 9’s” (or is it an album?) that I sometimes think of when I’m feeling upside down and inside out, wishing I could turn around everything in my life that is inharmonious. “Purple Hayes” and “The Wind Cries Mary” are among my favorites, but the entire “Band of Gypsies” album (live from the Fillmore in NY on NYE 69/70) is right up there! The sounds from his electric guitar are food to my ears sometimes.

In 2003 I went for a design conference In New Orleans. The Design Conference hosted this amazing party at the end, which took place in one of the warehouses that housed all the Mardi Gras Floats. I took this picture there.
