<div>March 17th St. Patties.
Day 18 for mom in the hospital and I think she's starting to go stir crazy, I know I would...
She's getting a little stronger &amp; better everyday but it is very slow going.
In the meantime Matt, Erik &amp; I are working on getting her house done for when she comes home.
Anyone have a couple of hours they'd like to put in, please let me know we could use the help.
That's all for now.

Thanks again to all that helped last weekend.

Fuente Eterno: Guadalupe Canyon Rebuild &amp; Restoration Project

    </a>
										<div>Tues. Feb. 5th 2008
Flash &amp; I set out for the canyon for 5 days of work to make the place better for all to enjoy. We ended up lost on the playa at night for 2.5 Hrs trying to find the entrance. At last we made it at 9:30pm to see our gracious host Mario wondering if we were going to make it up there that night.

Wed. Feb. 6th
Bight eyed at 6:30am our day started with the sunrise to tackle the work ahead. The scene there is of black charred palm tree trunks with the spring of green life as the palm leaves are filling out the top of them once again.
The projects we set for our selves started with the showers, two showers stalls complete with a dressing room with a little bench and all.
We made quick work of it while Mario went into town to see his family. As we were getting close to completion Flash took on the task of project number two, a pedestrian walkway over the mud bog that was just below The Red Light District on your way from the Choku-rei stage to the main stage. Flash pretty much single handedly built the 40ft long bridge in no time while I put the finishing touches on the shower stalls. Even though we brought a trailer &amp; truck full of supplies &amp; lumber we pretty much used it all &amp; it was only day two. Lucky for us we had a satellite phone to call HQ and remedy the situation.

Thurs. Feb. 7th
Day three started at the crack of dawn with the sun drenching over the canyon, what a beautiful sight. With little lumber to build we moved on to digging out campsites and hot tubs that were buried in dirt &amp; ash, some of the tubs as deep as 20 inches. The next project for the day was pouring concrete for a safety railing at one of the campsites over looking the drop off to the other side.
There are still spots of the ground that are charred black from the blaze. Most or all of the PVC piping that ran the thermal water to the tubs is melted or severely damaged. No sign of Mike &amp; Sonya with the new supplies. Hope they are O.K.

Fri. Feb. 8th
Fixing concrete and clean up was how our day started along with reinforcements on the mud bog bridge. Digging out and getting rid of all the burnt pie was our next project and moving it to one place for disposal. We were able to clean out 4 campsites along with their tubs.
Yay! Mike &amp; Sonya made it safe near sundown with all the badly needed supplies.

Sat. Feb. 9th
Crunch time! As those who went last year know, crossing the stream at the bottom of the ravine while intoxicated can be a wet experience with the slip of a foot. The boards we laid down last year did not handle the years abuse well at all. Flash and Mike spearheaded the construction of the 60ft long elevated pedestrian walkway across the stream. I became the pack mule going up &amp; down the ravine getting the things we forgot to bring down by truck around to that side of the canyon. We finished the main structure just after the sun went down.

Sun. Feb. 10th
Up early to Sonya serving us a fantastic breakfast on our last day. Down the ravine to put the final reinforcements on the 60ft bridge before heading back home. We filled the trailer with all the trash, pipe, and other debris to be taken to the dump on our way out.
There's still much more work and repair to be done but a huge dent was made into it with our little journey.

I'd like to thank Flash for his relentless energy while cleaning up &amp; mad building skillz (the bridge builder, sheep, what?), Mike for the help building that 60ft bridge &amp; making sure we got the materials need and last but not least, Sonya for keeping us fed like kings (Thai curry noodles, pancakes, shrimp pasta, breakfast burritos &amp; turkey melts) YUM!!!

All these improvements would not have been possible without the donations from YOU, our community.
Ernesto &amp; Mario (the owners of the canyon) Thank you

Get ready, for this years Fuente Eterno it's going to be an incredible experience!
