Ahhh Craig!!!
One of the very first people I met in Seattle. He came to Jon Taylor's house and we all journeyed over to Rachael's and she fed us some delicious goodies! Damn that girl can cook!!! We ended up at The Realm for a house party my first day in town (a Monday for crying out loud -(Hmmm, and I thought we knew how to party in Chicago). Over the past three years, Craig has proven himself to be a dear, wonderful person who can always be counted on for a hug and a kind word. He saved my skinny ass at burning man in 2003. My return ride arrangement with Q (another dear spirit) had fallen through due to terminal mechanical failure of her van. She Craig and I managed to squeeze our three bodies into Craig's truck (good old Clementine) and we all made it back to Seattle without killing each other (in fact I feel so much closer to both of them for that experience). Craig, YOU ROCK!! Too bad we can't bottle your spirit and gift it to the world in MASSIVE DOSES. It would result in a cultural transformation! Slip it into the water supply and watch all the terminally normal people begin to smile and show some civility and kindness.

Not a day slips by, that his voice doesn’t break on the wind of my mind. Echoing lets
get jacked, with a grilled cheese in hand. From our dark watering hole we ponder, love, life and the insanity of it all. Mutual chuckles as we congratulate ourselves on a challenging new drink color to keep our favorite barkeep on his toes. A rowdy cheer by all at his artful success! The colors of silver, garnet and bright orange dazzle us into further conversation that tickles our inner child! Good time!

Craig is at his best at about 9:00am in his chinese slippers and pants, sitting at the window, smoking his cigarette and looking at the rain talking about his Gramps. Catch him when you've got his full attention, when all you can hear is his musical voice and he doesn't feel the need to impress anyone.....then you'll be sure to love him. He has many facets, as all colorful characters do.......but it is the crystaline core, the contemplative and come what may one that has always attracted me like a moth to a flame. Craig's candle burns very brightly!
