</a>
										<div>like a week's worth of my myspace blog here.... in chrono order:

11/9/07
So Mary and I went to the shelter today to look at dogs. I know, super quick after what happened to Wednesday, but I figured, what the hell. No I didn't adopt a dog. Mary did. But. There is a dog there, that came in as a stray. If his parents don't come claim him before the 19th, he's mine. He's a very sweet, very timid, little scared out of his mind shitzu(sp?) mix. He has Wednesday's smile and of course that broke my heart. If I can give him a good home and his people don't come get him, I'm going to do just that. The boys have already asked if we were getting another dog, they want one. I told them that in the future, yes, but not right now. I'm not saying anything about this boy dog, in case I can't get him, don't want them to be disappointed. I just want to show up with him.

One major, major reason I want to get him &amp; give him a good home is that I have all this dog stuff... I refuse to just throw out Wednesday's bed. Her bowl. Her food. I won't do it. I can't. So I'll give it to another dog that needs it, and that little dog will hopefully fill some of the fucking gaping void that was left by the loss of my Yay.

I've noticed that my house is SO quiet without her. No little snoring dog in the corner of any room I'm in. No meowing yawns. It's so sad coming in, and to not call her. I had to actually take a sleeping pill last night because it was so difficult going to sleep without her there on her bed. I tried and tried. And cried.

But today, after meeting this little black dog (mary obviously thought he was the right dog instantly) and walking like 10 other dogs, and walking him again, and again, I feel better. I feel like nothing will ever replace my Yay. But I do think I need another dog. I do. Here's the one I want to adopt if I can: (see below, or my photos :D)

(here's a week or so's worth of daily visits to da pound)

11/19/07
I woke up really, really early today and went down to the animal shelter to adopt my dog. Mary showed up at 7:30ish bearing coffee. Badass.

So now… without further ado… I'm pleased to announce the adoption of the little black puppy dog that I've been coveting. I get to pick him up tomorrow, he's getting his little doggy nuts cut off today.

His name is yet to be determined.

Hooray!

Naming da new dog. In case you didn't know, I'm kind of a-tarded. When I am naming pets and such I typically like to use references to some of my fave fictional characters/items/whatnots. Here are some names I dig.. in no particular order, really:

    </a>
										<div>I'm not sure exactly how to write this right now. My pug dog Wednesday was killed today by a neighbor's dog.

She was an old lady, a sweet girl, and I will miss her very much. I will miss her snoring. I will miss her pug dance. I will miss her playing with my boys. She taught them how to walk, she was around before they were. She was at my house both times I had my babies, sitting, watching through the glass doors of my bedroom to make sure everything was ok. She barked at the TV when the doorbell rang even though we don't have a doorbell. She would pretend someone was at the door to distract our other dog Sheila (who lives with my dad now) from her bone so she could go steal it as Sheila barked and barked at the mirage that Wednesday had created.

She never quite figured out that she was not a Big Mean Dog, she probably thought that german shepard didn't have shit on her until it was too late. I will miss her. We buried her in the back yard this evening, and she has a simple rock as her headstone. Thank you, Yay Yay, for being my sweet girl. I love you, good dog.

    </a>
										<div>So we got back yesterday from DFW. Here's my rundown of the badassness that was Tribal Alchemy 2007:

Where to begin? I missed friday's workshops (so sadddd!) but made it to the preafterparty at embargo. Had a lot of fun. Was tired.

Stayed at Katy's, which was silly. We are silly silly girls at silly slumberparties. gigglegibberjabbergiggleshhhhweneedtogotosleeeeeeeeeeep! Woke up, made bracelets, started working on my stress headache. Got shit together, ate chick fil a (oh how i miss thee, chic-fil-a sammiches with a pickle on top). Made it to the day's events. Helped set up the backdrop with trudi and obi and katy while laura entertained us with bellydancer charades. Nothing like a strip of torn up gauze for a prop, i'm telling ya. Built up my stress headache even more. Was gonna like, die, from total anxiety over performing.

I wrote my intro, which was this:

"Da next dancer is FREAKING OUT. Please welcome bellanatana's cyber pimp, udit."

Did not die from performing. Actually had the costume I intended on having. Actually had my music. Did not have my camera (again. WTF is the deal with me and my camera????) Kept my costume on. Did not fall. Managed to actually have fun doing it. Did not throw up on stage. In other words, it went waaaaaaay better than I had imagined. It was good stuff. I watched the vid of my performance- which I was actually pleased with. (Note to self.. harrass Katy more about youtubing the vids!) My family came to da show. Dad, Mauntel, Jimmy, Athan (who was feeling crappy, poor guy) and Jacob. Gayle showed up with Chipper. They brought me kim bop and pocky. MMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM kim bop! Randi came with Kaya to watch pretty princesses dance.

Had to watch what I could from backstage, which is not a very good place to catch a bellydance show, in case you were wondering. Didn't get to see any of Michelle's or Nari's performances. Did catch Visions in Dance, which was fierce, and Veda. That little girl can MOVE.

Got to watch the second half of the show from the audience. BellaNaTana did a number to This Is Halloween, and those are the cutest friggin ragdolls you ever saw. So spooky. Mira Betz can shimmy like no other. She was SO beautiful. Liz Strong had this badass Turkish Rom dance going on... the rhythms that girl busted out with were just a joy to watch. They did a number together- the Greek Whiskey Dance- and I think I'm in love with Greek Sailorboys With Summer Teeth. so fuckin' hilarious.

Sabrina and Lara from Atash Maya did this number called "original sin" and these two goddesses were dancing, Lara largely pregnant... it had people literally crying all over the theater. It was intensely moving. So beautiful. I have a new secret (ok not a secret at all) crush on Sabrina Fox. You should too.

After the show, all these kickass bellydance grrrls in half regalia &amp; full makeup &amp; hair showed up to startle the crowd at Waffle House in Ft Worth. People were all "DAMN" when everyone walked in. That was fun. Waffle House uses unneccesary quotation marks and that took up a lot of our conversation. Unneccesary quotation marks are "fun".

Went to brandi's with the bellydancer parade and watched as one by one they went from being bellydance goddesses to regular goddesses. Reluctantly, katy and I went to her crib to try to "sleep." (looks kinda dirty when I type that out, don't you think?) Did not sleep. Not at all. Literally. Was thinking and thinking about the fact that I DID NOT HAVE MY FRIGGIN CAMERA AGAIN &amp; TOOK NO PICTURES WHILE WE WERE ALL DOLLED UP. gah. I went ahead and got out of bed since I was pissed &amp; couldn't sleep.. and katy had to be up in 3 hours to pick sabrina up for her workshop... and I was WIDE AWAKE. sorry. "WIDE AWAKE". It's "better" with the "quotes". hehe. Made a pot of "coffee" and showered and put my "hair" in pincurls. Took out "the" trash. "Did" the dishes. Heather got up and we "watched" the videos of our performances. Made it back to brandi's to get Sabrina &amp; take her to her workshop.

Went and "got" batteries for my "camera". Took a buncha pictures of sunday. Because I was pissed that I didn't get any of saturday. So go look in the tribal alchemy photo album if you haven't already. All the performance photos are by dave of image fusion. the candids are with my camera. Glad I got at least 150000 pictures, but it would have been better if I had more. Damnit.

Took a nap backstage of the theater. Woke up to katy waking me up. Is that a strange coincidence or what? I mean, I could have awaken to anything.. but I woke up to someone actually waking me up! It's insane. Went to eat at the spiral cafe with mira, liz, laura, bonnie, lara, sabrina &amp; katy... katy tried to make me cry because i was going home soon and alchemy was over. Betch. That's not cool. I did not cry. I held back most of the boohooing, actually.

As we are walking back with all my shit Katy said "god... it's like brokeback mountain..." sniff....

Anyhow, Two "Thumbs" up for Tribal Alchemy! Next year is gonna kick more ass and take even more names. I'll blog again when the vids are up on youtube!

    </a>
										<div>Yeah. So I went to Tribal Camp last week in Hunt, TX with some of my girls. It was SO much damn fun. Even when the airport lost my luggage. Katy is the bomb, she was kind enuf to outfit my clothesless ass with, uh, clothes. And even a costume, so I could perform in one of the shows. It was fun fun.

Highlites:

We got too drunk on wine.

Rachel Brice. Zoe Jakes.

HENNA!

Cucumber soccer- I shot the winning goal!

I won 3rd place in the t-shirt deco contest, much to my surprise. Those bitches can hack up and paint the hell out of a t-shirt. Nari may be a good dancer and good friend, but she has not one friggin' arts and crafts bone in her body. I tried to find it. It's not there. Poor girl. Good thing she can teach crappy kids about crappy books...

Back to cucumbers. I noticed that everyone's blog about tribal camp so far has mentioned cucumbers. What can I say? I still want to point out that they were, ahem, provided to us.

I got a bad ASS bracelet from Katy. She made this beautiful girl on a beautiful leather cuff and now it adorns my wrist. I LOVE it.

Tarot.

Skunks.

Hookahs. Why am I the only bitch in my cabin that knows how to set one up? Get some skills, girls! Damn!

So now I'm back, in the "real world" and Judy at my work has given her two week notice. Yikes!!! She is the glue that holds that place together and it will NOT be yikesless without her. Damnit. I will get to move into her office, though, which is nice b/c I'll get to see people again instead of hiding in the back where I only cried and processed loans.

OK, enuf of the internet. I must go climb upon my compost heap. I'm the queen of it, you know.

<div>Hey.
I only end up on tribe when I'm homesick these days. If you're on myspace or we talk on the phone or IM you're prolly aware of what's goin' on in my world. Not all of ya'll are updated though and I'll fill ya in.
  I'm working at a credit union now as a teller, and it's good. It's a good job for a momma with kiddos. I actually get to see them in the evenings. This is a good thing. Usually.
   I'm about to start up tribal fusion classes (again) and it's both exciting and makes me nervous. I do look forward to it though. I miss texas and I miss my peeps. It's very nice here but I think I need to go visit again soon, hopefully will get my chance for xmas.
   Anyhow, I feel much more connectec when I do get to a-tribin', so I'll make an effort to be here more and check in will ya.
Peace out, homies.

										<div>Ok, not here exactly, but I have tons of photos on my personal blog. Go look &amp; see! If you don't know the address, I'll let you know, just email or message me. We had a total blast at the cob workshop this past weekend. We learned the basics of building out of earth, kick ass!</div>

    </a>
										<div>OK, it's a real sign of old age when you forget your own damn birthday. I mean, I was aware of when it was (date-wise) and all that, but it completely slipped my mind until my boys were like "happy birthday momma!" that today is the day. I'm 29 years young today. Going camping. Sweet!

										<div>to the tune of Spam!

Have you heard of cob? I am really interested in building out of cob. Basically it's a mixture of sand, clay, earth, water &amp; straw. It's stomped together with your feet until it's completely mixed together, and then globbed on top of other cob and smoothed out, left to dry... sculpt a house!....I want to build a building!
Somewhere on the web someone said 'it's like building a clay pot, then living in it'.... yay!
So when I get to build something with cob (like a Uditstudio) are you going to come and get your hands &amp; feet dirty with me? Hmmm?

    </a>
										<div>So last night I went to class here, which was very different from the classes I'm used to. Very cabaret. I really liked the group of chicks (the class was much larger than I anticipated!) and they had me dance for them, so I did, even though I was really nervous and didn't know what I was going to do, and felt like vomiting.
I did a great job, well great for me, if I say so myself. I had a nice enough response to inspire me to hold classes. One girl in particular was very excited to see some 'tribal fusion' and asked me right away to teach her. I don't intend at all to compete w/ the existing classes, and I want to meet with the troupe leader so she knows I'm not trying to hijack her dancers! I don't want to take up her class time teaching the stuff I know though. I'm very excited. Any words of wisdom?
On another note- I dyed some of my dreads red. So I'm a reddread now. You can sortof tell in this photo, but not really. It's way brighter in person.</div>

										<div>Talking about ani here, because you know how she Moves me...

'rock, paper, scissors' by a. difranco, at least, as I hear them.

it's rock paper scissors as to whether
i will get over you at all
it's hand against hand
both hands are mine
it's standing in a circular line
which is not to say that i'm not also happy,
a happy me with a surprise inside
surprise surprise here's another bright light in your eyes
exposing all the stuff you're not calculating enough to hide

and this melancholy that i carry makes me feel so grown up
at the kitchen table doing shots of resignation
i never thought i'd see the day when i would say "i give up"
and break the stallions of my wildest expectations

and i do not want to know you this way
surrounded by so much pain
but how am i supposed to let go of you this way
like a burden to the sky of my brain?

i think i could accept all these dark colors
as just part of some bigger color scheme
if it wasn't for that drippy string quartet of sadness
underscoring each smiling scene
desire drags me right out of myself
like a gas-soaked rope tied to a piece of coal
i'm getting pretty good at looking at the bright side
while the flames rip along the sand and swallow me whole

and this melancholy that i carry makes me feel so grown up
at the kitchen table doing shots of resignation
i never thought i'd see the day when i would say "i give up"
and break the stallions of my wildest expectations

and i do not want to know you this way
surrounded by so much pain
but how am i supposed to let go of you this way
like a bird into the sky of my brain

I had a great evening. I danced like in cyn's evil classes. I sweated my ass off. After I cooled off I was able to be still. And I think I've come to terms with some things that are very sad to me, and I have peace. Good stuff.</div>
