I totally agree. It's sad but true. This place was kinda cool for a while. I have been reluctant to switch to anything else because I only want to do it once. What's out there that doesn't suck or flash things at you?

:(
Nothing as good in terms of platform as Tribe. That's not to say that the engine isn't crap. : |
So far I am just backing up my blog on LJ. pcx.livejournal.com/ I hear ning seems to have some good things, but few of my friends from tribe are going there. It seems that MySpace and Facebook are the popular ones. : | |

What, are we supposed to insult each other all day by carrier pigeon now?

I just dropped poop on Amy with my pigeon. She should get it by noon I think.
Unless my pigeon goes down. :( |

These replies would all be really funny if I didn't have to refresh and put in my pass word eight times to read them.

From Twitter... "We will have a 2-hour maintenance on Friday starting at 6p Pacific."
Wha?! You mean sometimes companies KNOW when they're gonna go down? |

Tribe's gonna be upgrading their infrastructure soon. Give em a chance, I think they may hang in here for a while yet.

I like Tribe because you can connect people to their interests and to other far flung communities.... x degrees of separation and you never know who or what you'll find. I mean, I have only 8 "friends" here but through them and others, I've found some great stuff. If I were single and/or had more time on my hands, I would never want for anything to do or things to explore... An alternate thing to look at might be to get y/our own wiki (it is free software... the conservative jerks have Conservapedia and I tried adding some content to it before their thought police pulled it down)..., each person would have their own/add pages and other people could edit them and add to them. You could add links to lots of stuff... Kind of like an encyclopedia of interest... I would see/discover a new "Star Trek" page begun by Kelly and I would make non sequitors about me and Brent Spiner and make links to Youtube's City on the Edge of Forever (the complete episode in 8 segments) before Viacom's lawsuit pulls the plug on some great content... thing about wikipedia is it does not appear to have the randomness caused by someone just stumbling upon your tribe site, kind of like in the dorms when you would walk through the bathrooms that connected one segment of a floor to another (E2 to F2) and then find someone else's room and just hang out and chat or keep on passing through until you got to the laundry room or took another detour by going up or down a flight of stairs... (although maybe you could index your wiki or allow for people to stumble upon it by other means like a google search or something...

Btw, that has to be the most existential (i don't think that's spelled right) Garfield comic strip I have ever seen! The concision! The Pathos! And it doesn't even feature the lead character! I'm really impressed... did you save that strip for a rainy day or something, Kelly?
