Well folks... we have a special treat for you all!!

Chris Bailey is coming to our home town, in Virginia Beach, Va. He will be doing a workshop here for all who are interested. Prices and other details are still being worked out! We will try to make it reasonable for everyone.(hopefully between $15 and $20 a person) The workshop is being held on March 15th 2008.... We have a HUGE space for this event. It will be held in a cheerleading gym..... tons of rooms... high ceilings... multiple floors. We will have a blast I'm sure. We are inviting everyone who is interested... bring your friends... Seriously, you all should come to this. $15 or $20 is cheap as hell for a workshop and VA Beach is not far away at all. We'll probably have a little hangout and spin jam later on, as well. Chris's workshop last January completely changed the way I look at poi. Quite possibly the single most influential set of ideas and inspiration for my spinning. If you haven't gotten the pleasure to take one of his classes, you should definitely do it while he's in the area. Albany is a little too far away...

Poi classes and PEX Spin Jam on Saturday, Jan. 26th.

I'm sure you all know, but there's another kickass spin jam at the PEX warehouse on Saturday, Jan. 26th. So I thought I'd come bring some workshop action. I'm going to teach an intermediate poi class and an advanced poi class. It's going to be $15 for one or $25 for both. Here's what I'm planning on teaching:


Intermediate:
Crossers (in all shapes and sizes)
Isolations
Hyperloops/Airwraps
Basic Tosses
Stalls
Flowers/Patterns



Advanced:
Hybrids
Hybrid Patterns/Polyrythms
Antibrid/Head orbit patterns
More tosses
1.5s
A bit of contact poi (wibbles, propellers, and such)


This is really just a vague outline. I'm open to teaching whatever I know, so please tell me what interests you. I also plan to teach all of these with the idea of performance in mind. I don't want just to teach technical moves, but I also want to help you find your own style with them.

The intermediate workshop will start at 6 pm, and the advanced one will start at 7:30. Also, it's really really helpful to have counterweighted poi for tosses and contact moves. We need help for Timeless!

So if you haven't noticed, we're having a sweet warehouse party on Saturday the 28th. However, things need to be done and acquired. Tim and Danny and I can't do everything, so we're calling out for help. This Saturday and Sunday are both gonna be work party days. So bring booze, caffeine, or whatever makes you pumped to move shit and decorate. We'll probably start around noon or so both days. There's A LOT of shit to be moved around. Luckily, Carter and I have met and planned out where these things are going to go.

If I can get 10 or so bodies to work on stuff that would be awesome. It would also save me and Tim from staying up all night drinking PBR and Red Bull and moving broken restaurant gear (already done that enough...). So we need people to move small stuff, big stuff, and to work on decorations and such. If you have a vehicle with a trailer hitch, that would rock. So gimme a message or a call and help make this party be the best Richmond has ever seen. Obviously, you'll get in free if you come help out.
