Any emotion that is experienced, positive or negative, is created inside oneself and is usually the result of a perceived external circumstance.
Because the emotion is created and dissolved by the possessor itself, there's no value in placing blame on others for its existence or depending on others for its resolution.
However, open communication with someone about an emotion can lead to a deeper understanding of the emotion, each other, and oneself.

While I was riding uphill in a gravelly wash, on a trail I'd never been on, with no certainty of where it leads, late at night with a broken headlight and no hydraulic pressure in my front break I realized that this was a good analogy to how I feel about my life right now.
