Virtual strangers know Jay by ringtone. They can immediately tell it's Jay. When he calls me, 50 Cent's "P.I.M.P." starts playing and they *know* it's Jay. Though his man has not an ounce of hip-hop, nor commercial "I've-got-9-bullet-slugs-in-my-body" thug cred in his body, motherfucker's got bling in ways you can't imagine. Jay takes care of me. Jay fizes my computer. Jay knows more about hardware than you do. Jay knows more about sushi than you do. Jay drives a cool car. Ladies love Cool J.

ino sushi
( local favorites » restaurants ) "If I said things like this about the girls I date I wouldn't be single." Basically, the best sushi restaurant in the city. "Best" being a relative term, don't go there if you're the type who mainly enjoys eating rolls. I spend entire days dreaming about the ankimo and ikura there. The rice is perfect, the fish is alwa... read more

Sushi Tomo
( local favorites » restaurants ) "best sushi on that block of geary" there are three sushi restaurants on the block of geary between 21st and 22nd. Sushi Tomo is really the only option. The food at the other two places makes me angry.

Kitaro
( local favorites » restaurants ) "If Kitaro were the only sushi restaurant in the bay area I'd eat my arm instead." So I ask myself this, how are they able to offer sushi for such low prices and still stay in business? The same reason McDonald's can sell a hamburger for under a dollar.

Some people say I'm a sushi elitist, but wouldn't you be slightly worrie... read more

Koo
( local favorites » restaurants ) "A "friend" once suggested we go to Ebisu instead and I punched him in the throat and ran away." The best recommendation I can give is that I eat here at least twice a week. Fresh fish (of course), creative dishes, enormous attention to detail, beautiful presentation and one of the few places in San Francisco with fresh grated wasabi (you ma... read more

Ryoko's
( local favorites » restaurants ) "Actually good sushi near downtown" I always thought there were no good places for sushi near downtown, but I've been going to Ryoko's recently and it's been fucking sweet. The chef, Atsushi (he's young and in a rock band, girls), has been churning out some really creative stuff. He... read more
