about me
I am a local middle Georgia experimental artist.
My work tends to be all over the board in style. I enjoy working with a variety of materials, themes and techniques.
My day job is at a public utility as an IT Tech. Most of my painting, sculpting and experimenting is on the weekends and in the evenings.
At times in my life I have been a war-hawk, pacifist, biggot, intelectual, indoctrinated baptist, enlightened, experimenter, scientist(amerature of course), free thinker, robot warrior for the state, dumb-ass, lover, hater, boozer, tea-tottler, skinny, fat, weird, popular, know-it-all, know-nothing, friend, enemy, believer, non-believer, worker, slacker, bum, hard working person, productive but still not re-productive person.
I like to think that I'm still not hardened and lifes dents and dings will continue to shape who I'll be at the end of my life.
City of Mysteria Population Cap - thoughts on strategy
Zero population growth and a practical but unpopular method
of implementing a 'Logan's Run' paradigm vs Crashed mother ship senario.
Maintaining a finite population requires a stacking strategy to deal
with the order inwich population enters the society and exits the society.
If the population control were running as 'first in - first out' and everyone was in and out at the same time the ability to maintain an infrastructure ...

I usually don't play jokes on people, but April Fools Day is one day that I have to pull atleast one tiny joke.
This year I decided to move Memorial Day... Yep that's right I moved memorial day.
Using the tried and true method of copying the same template the admin secretary uses to post official notices
to the staff, bar-b-q lunches, committee meetings and the like.
I got an email from the general manager letting me know "Folks were about to get in an uproar" over the holiday switch....

It seems that the wheel of the year turns much faster as we get older. Maybe there is some comfort in the idea that I may live as long from this point as I have up until now, but that seems like a very short time. I somehow feel short changed being a species that lives a brief 70 to 120 years. Why can't we live to be 10,000 then there would be some perspective of events instead of the brief sliding window that we see the world through. Individuals and societies are all doomed to this myopic v...

Decompression: It is a term used often in the burner community. For the benefit of others who may be going through this and not understand it and for the sake of getting a discussion going that one day may lead to a 'Burners Guide to Decompression', here is my take on the decompression phenomenon.
What does it mean?
What are the symptoms?
Will I have one?
How do I get through it?
Is there a cure?
What does it mean?
The best way I can think to describe the condition of d...

My first Dreaming festival... Wow, what a rush. It was the 5th event that month. I had kept to myself and hung with te kinship of my fellow Ducks. Helping family, working the kitchen, this stranger appeared. Not strange by actions, or looks, but knowing he just wasn't from around there.
I welcomed, and it snapped, like a cat o' 9 tails smack in the face. I felt myself drawn by his soft spoken words, his slight little smile, and the way his body glided in a simple, yet serene motion. He drifted off to connect with others, I thought then, that's all it would be. An underlying interesting, but why give me the time of day. He was confident in his motives for his experience and I would not get in his way.
That night, I did something totally out of character. My intent was to dance, to dance the flames as I always do, joining hand and hand with the embered spirits of the fire. But, I saw him, again... Oh my, my heart began to flutter... Who is this mystery man, who does he know, why is he here, who brought him, and why this event, I asked myself.
So, I calculated an 'ice breaker'. I'll get the infamous 'Chocolate Kisses' and see if he'd like a taste. Oh my Gawd, I really did this. Chicken sh*t as I am at times, I put my friend Barry up to the invite for me. He'll do it, ha ha! And yes he did, well sure enough... with hesitance I'm sure, my little messenger came back with a "YES". Now what, now I have to follow through, OY!!!
I head towards him, and explain what to do, not sure but I think I saw a little chill go through him. Well, at that point the stars multiplied, the moon brightened, my limbs became weak, and I fell for my Unga Bunga. It has only become stronger, and more intense along the way. I LOVE John so immensely and in so many ways, this trip has been a dream for way to long!

I've known Unga as the brilliant mind, activist and dreamer that really has embraced the whole of life's experience.
(Oh- and Unga! Thanks for the coffee!) What we didn't use on the playa I finished off in my studio when i got back-
We first met Unga Bunga John at Transformus, our 'Virgin' bartender... and then when he found us on our dome on the playa, I was so delighted! I am glad to have him as my friend, and I am looking forward to our meeting again. He jumps right in and fits in every situation... he has a true artist heart and he treats every one with respect. He is ~in no way~ alone in this crazy world, he is a heart you'll closely bring very dear to yours- as soon as you meet him!
Unga! I already miss your smile!
