Taking a cue from His Holiness the Dalai Lama, and the birth of 2009, I'm training my mind with goodness. Right now the goodness consists of training in Self-Discipline. This in turn will hopefully lead to a better understanding of compassion, forgiveness, tolerance, and - aaahhhhhhhh - contentment. I like this, it feels right. Challenging and uncharted territory. Never hurts to have a goodness challenge, eh? The better to be stoked with. ;-)

For those not In The Know, Ben's username on the website where we met is ZenBen. He is a Zenist of sorts. Spiritual in his own Tao Te Ching kind of way. He lives by his own - rather illogical to me and at times frustrating - rules. His intent, his ethos is foreign to me. Of another time and place. Draconian. Beautiful. Of legend. Not practical.
