nomadic summer

<div>The more things change, the more they remain... insane.
  - Michael Fry and T. Lewis

so this summer has already been pretty travel intensive. From interfuse in missouri, to gaian mind in pennsylvania, to expedition in iowa, then driving across western america to find california on fire and smoke choking our lungs everywhere we went. we high tailed it out of there and went to oregon where I had a blast. I've found my new favorite state, from the laid back scene in eugene to the never ending dank food of portland, oregon is where its at.

then I drove north to seattle to stay with some family and ended up spending time on vashon island which was amazing. much needed R and R and I got to drop an all night dub set at a impromptu house party in this cabin with the most beautiful view of the sound. then back down to portland to check out the scene there and a two day marathon driving session to get home in time for a job interview that I have monday.

upcoming plans are a local event this weekend, then underground sound 4 in illinois, and then probably the big event in the psyowan summer Uncharted Territory. and if that wasnt enough, I've got my sights on sacred earth up in wisconsin as well. and let us not forget our own spectra inertia, and missouri's night of the stomping zombies.

I need to make two things.. money and more music! </div>

retrospective soul

<div>You Are a Retrospective Soul
The most misunderstood of all the soul signs.
Sometimes you even have difficulty seeing yourself as who you are.
You are intense and desire perfection in every facet of your life.
You're best described as extremely idealistic, hardworking, and a survivor.

Great moments of insight and sensitivity come to you easily.
But if you aren't careful, you'll ignore these moments and repeat past mistakes.
For you, it is difficult to seperate the past from the present.
You will suceed once you overcome the disappoinments in life.

Souls you are most compatible with: Traveler Soul and Prophet Soul

Secret Fire

<div>I think this was the best party I've attended all year, its a toss up between secret fire and interfuse, but secret fire really scratched an itch that hasnt been satisfied in a long time. All the music was phenominal, the deco was awesome, the VJs were on point and throwing down a mix mashed variety of clips that matched the absurdness of the ever changing scando sounds that bounced through the event. In other words, I fuckin loved it! Every bit of it.

So for a brief rundown,
Underfoot hit chords close to my own tastes bringing the psychdelic dub just like I like it,

SOT rocked the down tempo area with a suprising, funky, badass set that I can barely describe apropriately,

Deep Fryer tore it up proper with plenty of scandojargony goodness leaving the crowd stunned to find out that squaremeat hadnt even started yet. His set blew me away, and I'm his best friend, I always love his sets, but he stepped it up many knotches on my respect list when he busted out his set. I know he had been planning it in advance and opening for squaremeat was a dream for him. Well dream come true and man it was a proper intro to the two nuttiest finnish people ever to grace the woods of illinois! Esoteric gen represented in sheer intensity instead of raw numbers this time, but we held it down till the morning and had the time of our lives.

Pepe and Tomi are insane in all the best ways, thier sets combined took me on a journey that lasted a large chunk of the morning and left me itching for more. I dont know what to say, honestly, they tore it up like I've never in my life heard and I lost myself entirely in the slinky boinky sonic suomi wizardry that insued. I had a blast kicking it with these two nuts, and I'm proud to have almost had my middle finger pulled off by Pepe, he wins and is a far better DJ than I. Tomi is one of the funniest guys I've ever met, we had a million laughs sunday morning and the crazy stories are definately going to be retold to the nutters back home.

Toki laid it down after the fins had thier fun and left us all exhausted from dancing our asses off. But thats not all!

Airyck was a treat in the morning, bringing full on goa that I could not stop dancing to. Its fucking great to hear Iowa bringing in the morning proper, you guys need to book this kid to do the morning more often! He had my ass sweating like a pig and for once I loved it.

I enjoyed the freedom of attending a party and just being able to get down and not have to worry about everything, and I got down at one stage or another for the whole night. I'm still sore and I love it. I really dug the barn and was torn between that and the psy, I split it up and caught as much of both as I could, I was overwelmed by how great the talent was, everyone really brought thier A games and delivered!

It was great to see all of my family again united in a single place, its the people that keep me coming back and I love you all, you fuckin rock my world every time and your kindness keeps me humbled and amazed at how great the psy trance scene really is.

all I can say is thank you. </div>

<div>I just got my low income ticket to Burning Man in the mail today, I'm so stoked. I was thinking that I wasnt going to get it because I was honest about how much money I make instead of just claiming I was so broke that I was down to eating shoe leather to get by, but I guess honesty is the best policy because mine arrived today. woot!</div>

it looks ugly, its functionally inferior, seriously somebody fire the putz that approved this shit.

    </a>
<div>up late again.. chasing evanescent dreams
chasing zen.. grasping for nothing it seems

the moon sits high in the night sky.. solitary
faithful satellite from which we fly.. binary

its orbit rare, like true love, one of a kind
so we stare, high up above, hoping to find

wisdom in its nocturnal illumination, guidance from its glow
wander its lunar surface with imagination, and marvel from below

we follow the night like children of the darkness, lured deep into a trance
where we all unite to escape alienated aloneness, feeling devotion in dance

feeling communion in the arms of a mother long neglected
a terrestrial union reuniting those that society has rejected

we gather in groves to groove to goa like gnomes
trancending time like guru reciting a mantra of ohms

I live for this visceral feeling, and every time I try to ride it higher
for a free mind knows no ceiling, and is tempted only by desire

this is why I find myself, greeting the morning light
desire put sleep on the shelf, and now there goes the night</div>

<div>I've been hella busy lately with school. I moved Heather back to Lawrence so I'm missing the hell out of her. We went to Spectra Inertia 2 before she left, it was a weekend GOA party out in Hog Ridge Hollow thrown by Esoteric Gen of Fayetteville Arkansas. So I've got my psytrace fix now for a little bit. I've got mid terms coming up this week which are not going to be fun and I've got mad work to do. Here is the Latest design I did for Esoteric Gen.
