Just one week from today, the Danger Board will be playing at the Triple Rock Social Club, opening for none other than the New Model Army. As if that weren't exciting enough (and, to be honest, it really should be, you ungrateful fuckers), this event will be the (Very First) Danger Board Drive-in Double Feature!!. That's right, boys and girls, the Danger Board will be showing two (2) classic movies from the Golden Age of drive-in for your viewing pleasure! Bring your backseat (or use one of ours!), grab some popcorn, tune your radio to 87.9FM, sit back, and enjoy the (Very First) Danger Board Drive-in Double Feature!!-- the only drive-in double feature that rocks... due to the assistance of music (and guitars)! Alternatively, you can be that rowdy fucker who spends the entire movie out of his car, running around the park, making noise and generally distracting the other viewers. That is a perfectly allowable option as well because this will be no ordinary drive-in double feature. No, this will be the only drive-in double feature that rocks... largely owing to the inclusion of music (and guitars) so you will know that it could only be the (Very First) Danger Board Drive-in Double Feature!! It seems like all I use Tribe for is promoting Danger Board shows. Well, we're at it again! And this time we're playing First Ave's Main Stage! LA BELLE EPOQUE VIII - VALENTINE'S EVE GLAM / FETISH BALL Wednesday, February 13th ~~~ Doors at 7:00 pm ~~~ $6 advance, $8 at the door Sadly, we're not headlining. We are, in fact, opening. And really early at that: 8p (as in "doors at 7p, first band (us) at 8p"). This will be my first time playing on First Ave's main stage and I'm pretty excited about it. We're gunna have period appropriate costumes, a kissing content, fabulous prizes, popular late nineteenth century diseases and quality rock music. I hope to see some of you there. Those of you who live within a few hundred miles, at least!

I don't know who did the sun dance but: thank you, whoever you are! Today's excellent weather has helped me get back on marginal track. While I still don't have enough time to wire up the light system I have managed to get some fundamental construction and painting done. Now if I can just get a few more hours of non-rain before Saturday...

Bad News

Due to this unprecedented weather I have been dealt a serious set-back. My best-case scenario for the Interstellar Pleasure Barge is now a compromise. If (and only if) the weather dries up a bit for the next few days I might be able to get the basic construction finished. That's the best I can hope for. All of my cool plans for lights are abandoned and will have to wait until next year. It's very disappointing to know that if the weather improves AND I work constantly AND I encounter no big problems the best I can hope for is "barely-acceptable". :(

I'm planning on buying a generator soon. From what I've heard, the Honda EU1000i & EU2000i are the highly coveted ones. Northern Tool has the EU2000i for $869. Does anyone know of a better price?

I had a wonderful time at Fuji-Ya drinking delicious sake and eating sushi with some charming people this evening but it was soured when I discovered that at some point in the intervening two and a half hours some fucktard stole my car stereo. I really want to trust strangers and give people I don't know the benefit of the doubt - but something like this always inevitably happens to me or someone I care about. All it takes is one inconsiderate shit-head like this and now I'm going to be instantly (if not violently) suspicious of anyone who looks out of place in my habitat . It's worth mentioning that while I liked my car stereo I only paid $70 for it because it was an open-box model at a Best Buy clearance sale - so it's not such a great loss (although now I have to go through the arduous process of sourcing, buying and installing a new one). I hadn't even owned this one for a year. On the plus side: no windows were smashed and the thief took neither the expensive GPS module I had in the center console nor the $200 powered subwoofer in the back of the Jeep. Moron. Update, 6/6, 4p: I made a trip to Best Buy and found the exact same model of stereo for $80. I was afraid I was going to have to go to a bunch of stores to find something that met my scattershot criteria. Re-installation should also be very easy since I'm already familiar with it. But this time I'm going to add in some of my own security measures which will likely involve welded steel.
