about me
I've been belly dancing since 1999 and it is one of my greatest passions. I always felt a connection to the dance, an other-worldliness that spans all time and spaces- there is mysticism there... passion, idealism, drumbeats, pulsating fury, and quaking, trembling motion...

I've always suspected that I'm a bit of a force to be reckoned with - it's only recently come out. My meekness and quiet observation has given way to an outpouring of my opinions, on any topic that I find worth my time and attention.

I'm a "realistic idealist", or an "idealistic realist". Take your pick.

I find adventure in the mundane and the divine in nature.

I have found that the more strongly attuned our senses are, the greater our depth of emotion. "Sensuality" is such a mis-used word, as it does not only pertain to sexual pursuits, but to engaging eyes, ears, nose, taste buds, and hands- to really experience the physical (and metaphysical) world around us. It's a path towards being a sensuist- which to me is one of the greatest gifts-- to have a simple everyday object become "something more" just by truly experiencing it with all of your senses.

I am a knowledge-seeker and am always looking up some tidbit or fact to tuck away into the recesses of my mind for the next time that I may need it!

I enjoy cooking and find it to be a resourceful, albeit convenient, way to get into a meditative practice. There is just something about chopping vegetables, peeling potatoes, and simmering herbs that tends to release the constraints of the mind and allow for those "a-ha!" moments. Food is love, and I'm NOT talking about emotional eating! It nurtures and nourishes, and the act of preparing a meal can be a loving one. When we create, no matter what it is, we are producing a visible expression of what matters to us.

There's been times where I've become jaded and bitter (and back again), but still find a little(and sometimes a lot of) laughter in every day.

Made of Thin Invisible Steel

It logs me out for no good reason, without my permission, and it seems pretty dead here. Are any of you alive?! Did you fall down the rabbit hole? Talk to me! {Well, if you want to. :) }

Eeewww, what a horrid substance!!! It is disgusting! I can taste it instantly whenever it is sneakily put in foods.

Take Quaker Caramel Corn rice cakes, for example. It is labeled as "Smart Choices Made Easy". No where does it say anything about it being "light" (which I have come to learn is synonomous with "we've poisoned this with fake sugar), but as soon as I put one in my mouth, I started to get this odd queazy feeling, and my stomach was turning ever so slightly.

A look on... read more
