I've known VK on line for about a year now. I've always admired his artwork and recently when one of my goats passed away suddenly I just knew I had to ask him if I could commission a portrait of my goatie. Somehow I knew that he could portray my Joe in the way that I wanted him to be. The painting came out beautifully and it will have an honored place in our home for the rest of our lives. VK captured more than just the physical appearance of our goatie, he captured his spirit and heart.
When I went to pick the painting up, that was the first time I ever met him in real life. I was struck instantly not only by his kindness and warmth, but by the love and happiness that radiated from his home and family. I was deeply moved by the obvious depth of caring they share and felt honored to have a glimpse into the life of such a wonderful group of folks. It struck me that this is why he was able to capture on canvas the heart of my beloved Joe, because he carried that same warmth in him and it passed on to his family and his art. For a scary clown, VK sure is a nice guy, the best of dads, and a fantastic artist. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for the work you did for me! June 9, 2008

Vicious Kind. You're on my mind this morning : ). Here is a man who, the first day that I met him, in December of 2006, entrusted me with 5 of the loves of his life. Who does that? A incredibly good-hearted human, that's who!! Vicious makes me feel happy...just hearing his voice on my machine can perk me up, 'cause I know that some fun event, or cool art thing is about to happen. He's always greets me with a crooked smile, and a warm hug, and he's also one of the best parents I've *ever* seen (Have you MET his kids? They're amazing!! And if you know me, you know how odd that is for me to say <lol>). I just plain adore him. And I *trust* him, which is not something that I do lightly. I'm so, so happy that you, Vicious Kind, and your lovely family, and your incredible menagerie (ZAZ!!!), are a part of my family of friends. And I just thought that you should know that this morning : ).

Nikki wanted a monkey, so how can I really deny her? It was a rough piece to work on. I normally really like to work with color. Mixing, choosing, shading. This was a decidedly monochrome piece, for me. It was its own challenge, but I am really looking forward to starting something new.
