Ca you believe it?
(blog entry)
I'm actually doing a solo of my own free will. Well, once i removed Iona's, Nayna's and Elizabeth's feet from my back. lol But they didn't have to nudge too hard.
For some reason the thought didn't make me nauseous. Intimidated, yes. Self consc...

Went to the Southern Fusion Fest workshop last weekend. And if you missed it, you really missed something special! It was a fabulous event.
While there, I was priviledged to take classes with Tamalyn Dallal and Gina. HOLY COW!!! They helped me...

For some reason the thought didn't make me nauseous. Intimidated, yes. Self conscious, yes. But as my Lotus girls said: Do it. It's good for ya.
And i think they are the reason I'm ok. The love & support and yes, the occasional foot in my back - are the things that keep me going. And they make it fun. GOD is it FUN!! Not to m...

So it looks like I'm the first to say it here: HOLY COW WHAT A GREAT NIGHT AT BDSS WITH THE LOTUS TRIBE!!! I had an absolute blast!
The show was terrific, absolutely breathtaking! It was wonderful spending time afterwards with Issam, Rachel, Petite, Zoe, Sonya, Kami, Jillina and the DIVINE Barbara. It feels so good to pick right up with where we left off and the dancer love was great. So big thanks to the BDSS buddies who congratulated us on the Lotus success - their pride in us made me pr...

Can anyone pronounce it with confidence? (It's actually kinda pronounced Hu Dem). Ever seen the terror on someone's face when they try to read it aloud for the first time? Ever heard me called Corine, Karim, Kareem, etc?
With the birth of Lotus Studios, I've made a fresh start and it's a new beginning. Everything feels different, l...

Went to the Southern Fusion Fest workshop last weekend. And if you missed it, you really missed something special! It was a fabulous event.
While there, I was priviledged to take classes with Tamalyn Dallal and Gina. HOLY COW!!! They helped me to remove a huge dance block. In taking their classes, I felt my body go "Heyyyyyyy! THIS is what feels right! THIS is the style for me!" I came out of there feeling like a gorgeous, feminine, stong, sexy woman.
Tamalyn taught me to let that beau...

Put together a montage of pics of my favorite people. Started out as a fun thing to do with a bunch of those self-portraits where I hold the camera. The more I looked, the more I found and I realized that I am so blessed to have these people in my life, however frequent or infrequent.
I was a loner kid: one friend at a time, if at all. Pretty shy and introverted. (Really - ask my parents.) Never ran in a pack. But when I looked back over old pics, it dawned on me how much my life has CHANG...

Ummm....Hmmm...Where do I start? Oh....I know....BIG BOOTY HOES..HUMP WIT IT!!!! LOLOL! Yep, thats how it all began some 5 years ago and been trippin together ever since. Big heart, quick wit, hella cook and a HELLA FRIEND! Don't know what I would do without her. Over the years I have seen growth and change and most recently the biggest one of all.....from what we knew of Khurrem has emerged this lovely butterfly reflecting the new life of "Victoria". It's a wonderful thing and she's a wonderful friend. Thanks for all you do. I love ya! Nayna

I first met Miss Magnolia in 1995 at the GMP Institute in Ft. Mitchell, KY. We both learned the principles and practices of quality at small batch brewery. She is one of two women that have a profound influence on how I view the opposite sex (the other is not Mother Theresa!). She is a bundle of creativity and lives for the sake of living. Being around her just makes you want to dance (and I can't). To her friends she is true .
I know her from prior lifetime where she was an Egyptian princess and I was a wandering Rastaman playing my flute.
We don't see each other as much as I thought we would, but I think about her often. Right now I miss her smile and that Charlotte way of speaking. II look forward to the time we can worship again in the little church we both like so much.

Khurrem and I met through our husbands (and our sons). It was Cub Scouting initially (the men decided to do some guy activities with the boys). Then the men realized they had MUCH in common and became fast friends. Well, where do the wives go, but along...discovering another relationship of joy.
I adore Khurrem, and her family (my 'brother' Bill, and 'other son' Walt). She has shown me a fun and alternate world called 'belly dance', and I heartily admit to living vicariously through her.
Hugs, dear. --April

So, we actually went to nursery school together! Good Lord! We've been friends for close to 30 years. No, that can't be right, maybe only about 15 or 20 years. We surely can't be THAT OLD!!!!! Alas, we are (we just don't look it! YEA!). We're sisters, what can I say? Some of our stories from over the years are too hilarious. Wait for the book, a history of stuff that just does not possibly happen to normal people! You're my confidante, friend, therapist, voice of reason, calming influence, driver and the absolute best with which to create trouble (you know we've had MORE than our share and still have yet to get our asses kicked).
I guess, just . . . THANK YOU!!!
I love you!

I met the Ouikki (pronounced Wikki) about 3 years ago and some change in a bellydance class with Yasmine. I must say that it's been the best 3 years and some change I've ever experienced! Vikki definitely keeps the jokes coming. While most of her work for the troupe would be considered 'background' to most, we couldn't stay afloat without her! It's been great watching her grow into the dance and shrink with me on our WW journey. :) She's definitely my sista and friend. My hubby loves her food, and so she's the only marital threat that I have, but I think I could share!
Luv ya girl!
