about me
Greetings!! My name is Gullveig. I am a teacher in old crafts.
* Sprang * Nalbinding * Felting * Spinning * Wire knitting * Heddle and card weaving www.vikinggirlsworkshop.com Recently I started washing with soap nuts and I am so enthousiasic about them, that I started a business to spread the word! Its 100% natural detergent. Cheap, good for the skin and for nature. Fantastic! More info about them: www.infosoaptree.com Born and raised in the Netherlands. But I always loved to travel. Been all over and lived in different countries. I am a very creative person , an artist. Nature and history are my big passion. I worked in a iron-age museum for 7 years doing living history. Experimental archeology. The last few years I have been working as a professional Viking. First in Norway, Sweden and now in the USA. I am the sturaeswoman of Yngling Skog. A Viking re-enactment group in PA. Our main goal is to show people how the Vikings could have lived by demonstrating daily activities. We give demo's and workshops to everybody who is interested in the way Vikings lived. And that gives us a wide audience. From people of the SCA (Society of Creative Anachronism) to tourists at a Scandinavian festival. I am also a spokes woman for the local pagan federation. Way out of the broom closet :-) In the Netherlands I did interviews on national TV and newspapers about Wicca. Happily married to another viking. Slowly I am finding my way here. Luckily I can do my crafts all over the world. Bring your mead and join me around the campfire! Note: No trees were killed in the sending of this message, but a large number of electrons were terribly inconvenienced.

I got back online today. So after wrestling through 500 emails, junkmail and love letters( I wish), I finally got around being on Tribe again. Quick update: - Living... read more

And guess what? Yesterday I found out that when I am flying over the ocean, there is a lunar eclips!!!! When I am moving to a new part of my life, moving country, I always end up doing that with or days around a full moon. It always just turned out that way. But an eclips! Wow. Sometimes I feel like that lady in the movie "chocolat" that when the wind blows a certain way, she has to move on. ... read more

To Andover. That is about an hour west of London. And about 10 minutes from Stonehenge :-) I will be flying 20 feb and arrive 21st. Two days after I arrive I already have an appointment with the local Viking group. Their base is Old Sarum, an iron age hill fort. So I will be right at home. The last few days I have been doing some research about English eco- projects and where I can promote my soapnuts. There is... read more

In light of your failure to elect a competent President of the USA and thus to govern yourselves, we hereby give notice of the revocation of our independence, effective immediately. Her Sovereign Majesty, Queen Elizabeth II, will resume monarchical duties over all states, commonwealths and other territories (except Kansas, which she does not fancy), as from Monday next. Your new prime minister, Gordon Brown, will appoint a governor for ... read more
