about me
Greetings!! My name is Gullveig. I am a teacher in old crafts.
* Sprang * Nalbinding * Felting * Spinning * Wire knitting * Heddle and card weaving www.vikinggirlsworkshop.com Recently I started washing with soap nuts and I am so enthousiasic about them, that I started a business to spread the word! Its 100% natural detergent. Cheap, good for the skin and for nature. Fantastic! More info about them: www.thesoaptree.com Born and raised in the Netherlands. But I always loved to travel. Been all over and lived in different countries. I am a very creative person , an artist. Nature and history are my big passion. In Eindhoven I worked in a iron-age museum for 7 years doing living history. Experimental archeology. The last few years I have been working as a professional Viking. First in Norway, Sweden, USA and now in the UK. Giving workshops in old fiber techniques at musea, schools, markets and guilds. Luckily I can do my crafts all over the world. Bring your mead and join me around the campfire! Note: No trees were killed in the sending of this message, but a large number of electrons were terribly inconvenienced.

Last week I was at my local wool shop ( that doesn't sell real wool) and asked the lady "why?* -" Beause nobody wants it". Really? Is that so? Is that really so? Cause marketing is not what people want, its creating a need. And that makes people want it. If you don't offer it, people don't know its available. If you don't include it in fashion, people don't see the need to want it. Tribal is very fashionable nowad... read more

Wool from the sheep that graze at AVEBURY STONE CIRCLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Jumps up and down with excitement. I have 5 fleeces. Most of them Cotswold. And its lovely!! At the moment i am handspinning it. Also an idea is, on special order, to hand spin wool on magical days/ nights. The wool will be all totally natural treated. No harsh chemicals for washing etc. So that people could use it for magical items. Knit your magical pouch or make hand braided cords. Whatever ... read more

I got back online today. So after wrestling through 500 emails, junkmail and love letters( I wish), I finally got around being on Tribe again. Quick update: - Living... read more

And guess what? Yesterday I found out that when I am flying over the ocean, there is a lunar eclips!!!! When I am moving to a new part of my life, moving country, I always end up doing that with or days around a full moon. It always just turned out that way. But an eclips! Wow. Sometimes I feel like that lady in the movie "chocolat" that when the wind blows a certain way, she has to move on. ... read more
