New Friends Honey
(blog entry)
This is Honey - its taken a while to give them names because they are almost identical sisters.
We got them from the local rescue place and could only take them as a 2 for one deal.
We never expected to end up with a pair of cats, but it made ...

Our house cat Bella was an intense cat. She was a great mouser - incredibly fast paws and sharp claws.
She was a night cat - very secretive and a little wild. Even though she was small she was very capable of protecting herself.
I think she di...

This morning an eagle came to visit.
I first saw it early when the sun was coming up - just happened to look out the window and saw its powerful wings flapping as it lofted to a perch above the river to hunt. With this latest cold snap, the Quab...

But she is gonna be a good mouser - super quick and coordinated and really gets into playing with a rope when your
at the other end. Sometimes she grabs the end of the rope and runs off with it pridefully like she's got a bird or something,
and then proceeds to wrap it around the plants and drums and whatever else is in the way.

We never expected to end up with a pair of cats, but it made a lot of sense to us, and they are
really good at entertaning themselves. They are about 10 mos old and have spent much of their
kittyhood in the shelter - so they have some things to overcome - as do we.
Honey has made a lot of progress in bein...

I think she did her best to protect us too.She would often bring us offerings of mice to our bedside - I struggled with this.
She had her trials and moments of great fear. She never liked plastic bags although she was always interested in paper.
She was death...

This morning an eagle came to visit.
I first saw it early when the sun was coming up - just happened to look out the window and saw its powerful wings flapping as it lofted to a perch above the river to hunt. With this latest cold snap, the Quabbin is probably frozen over and the eagles must be getting hungry.
I managed to get a few pictures out the window but of course could not capture the magnificence.
And so what does it mean? Is there any significance? Or just a hungry raptor outsi...

I dont know how but we always manage to get some rocking rhythms and there is nothing that brightens my life more
than when you see a child becoming totally activated and engaged in ecstatic bliss by being a part of this thing that they
are helping to create. They get it !
