Starting off the year right

I first saw it early when the sun was coming up - just happened to look out the window and saw its powerful wings flapping as it lofted to a perch above the river to hunt. With this latest cold snap, the Quabbin is probably frozen over and the eagles must be getting hungry.
I managed to get a few pictures out the window but of course could not capture the magnificence.
And so what does it mean? Is there any significance? Or just a hungry raptor outside in the trees.
Recently my tarot reader told me to pay attention to my spirit guides in January and February - OK ...
And Andrew Watermountain has challened us to pay closer attention to the natural world around us.
So you teachers - I am listening - just not sure what it is Im supposed to hear.
Maybe it's just another beautiful creature of the Earth and I was lucky enough to witness it's flight.

Many years ago when I first moved up North, Matthew took me for a walk on top of the Fitchburg Water Resevoir. This was a very exciting and challenging thing for a southerner to do. It's hard for us to fathom being able to walk on water even if it is frozen. This particular day also happened to be an anniversay of my husband's death. Imagine my delight and reverence when a beautiful eagle soared overhead. I felt as though I had been kissed by God. There is something special about eagles.

Awesome!!!
I saw 2 red tail hawks circling and calling overhead in the yard. I was told they were doing a courtship dance. It was still beautiful.
What ever it might mean as a symbol to our lives, it is still awe inspiring to see the magnificence of nature so close! |
