Mark's new tattoo. Arabic calligraphy of the word Saltanah. It's beautiful.

Saltanah is an Arabic term that refers to a phenomenon that sometimes occurs during a live music performance.
“Saltanah is the feeling, the ecstasy really, that can occur during a performance, when the energy is flowing freely between the audience and the musicians, and a kind of magic happens … when there is Saltanah, musicians excel, they outdo themselves really and may do things they never thought themselves capable of”.

I think there are a few bands out there with this name. He read it in a book about Arabic music and culture :) He "won" this tattoo after registering for a door prize at a dance gig we had last month. Kinda cool that he got his music tattoo by coming to a dance thing :)
