Talk about unfinished...
They've finally started framing up the main house. The garage is finally torn down, and this week they are framing out the new addition. This pic is of the back of the house, prior to the new addition, and you can see the dining room and kitchen on the lower floor. It's starting to look like a house again! Does fall give you that urgent feeling that you should finish up some of the things that you've started? I have a house to sell, another to remodel, and a relationship that needs some soul-searching. It's time to finish up, take stock, get comfortable, and dig in for the winter.here it comes...
Ok, I live in Texas, and Rita is bearing down on us as if she has taken personally all of the horror and embarrassment of the administration in this country. See, we pissed off mother nature, and here she comes to bring a little taste of it right back home again. The weather gurus should have broken with their custom and named her "W" in honor of the Head Fool around here. It sucks to be from Texas sometimes.in mourning...
It's been over 3 months now that I've been without glass. I miss it so much.Warm steel in my hands, the smell of burning paper and beeswax, that gorgeous unforgiving heat, the rhythm, hypnotic and seductive, spinning, flowing, turning, the most beautiful rhythm... to be the humble hands, begging the powers of heat, gravity, physics, and chemistry as old as the earth itself for some dispensation that they may lend their grace to some object of my vision, coaxed from the fire with hope, love, and madness.
My heart aches. I know I will return to it, I will always seek it. But right now I weep for the loss.
