Thrill The World is an annual worldwide simultaneous dance of Michael Jackson's “Thriller.” People learn the dance (there are online lessons as well as local workshops), dress up like zombies, and dance with a group of like-minded souls the week before Halloween. I was just sent this information and found out that San Jose has its own special sub-group of the event. So I’m all signed up – they have rehearsals, makeup workshops, the whole bit.

Rusty tendrils of spiraling metal
electrocute.

Flesh on fire, scorched.
Blushing bruises blooming.
Teardrops leak scratched skin.
Will I lose control?
Should I give in?
The object is to draw out this ritual.

Hot breath builds perspiration
