Goosebumps to think he will be walking again
Excited to think I can dance with him once again
Grateful ... grateful

Dancing With the Land

I have not been here alot lately, as it is sooooooooooooooooooooooo beautiful outside~I am out most everyday in my spare time, gardening, getting the yard in shape for the good weather, it's also T-Ball season for Dylan, pow wow season is starting...wow...
I was out the other day and finally stopped to take a picture of "The Sentinel". He's a tree that stands along the road in Gill, just over the bridge. Many times I see him there standing watch and think about stopping to take his picture. Finally got around to it. Wonder how long he has been standing watch over Skeezies farm?
Hoping everyone is out enjoying their good weather~check in with ya soon!
Peace.

FOR ALL THE CRACK POTS IN MY LIFE~

I post this lovingly...no takin it personally please!

An Elderly Chinese woman had two large pots, each hung on the ends of a pole which she carried across her back. One of the pots had a crack in it, while the other was perfeect and always delivered a full portion of water.

At the end of the long walks from the stream to the house, the cracked pot arrived only half full. For a full two years this went on daily, with the woman bringing home only one and a half pots of water. Of course, the perfect pot was proud of its accomplishments. But the poor cracked pot was ashamed of its own imperfection, and miserable that it could only do half of what it had been made to do.

After two years of what it perceived to be bitter failure, it spoke to the woman one day by the stream. "I am ashamed of myself because this crack in my sides causes water to leak out all the way home."

The Old Woman smiled, "Did you notice that there are flowers on your side of the path, but not on the other pot's side?" "That's because I have always known about your flaw, so I planted flower seeds on your side of the path, and every day while we walk back, you water them."
"For two years I have been able to pick these beautiful flowers to decorate the table. Without you being just the way you are, there would not be this beauty to grace the house."
Each of us has our own unique flaw. But it's the cracks and flaws we each have that make our lives together so very interesting and rewarding. You've got to take each person for what they are and look for the good in them.

SO, to all of my crack pot friends, have a great day and remember to smell the flowers on your side of the path!

BABY NEWS

Elder's Meditation of the Day - April 5
"As we plunge ahead to build empires and race for supremacy we should stop and listen to [the female] song of life. For without the female there is no life."
--Oren R. Lyons, Spokesman, Traditional Circle of Elders
Women are created with the ability to produce life. Women have a special tie to the Earth Mother. They have something in common. They are the source of life. The Earth Mother gives songs to the Woman to sing. These songs are about life, about beauty, about children, about love, about family, about strength, about caring, about nurturing, about forgiveness, about God. The World needs to pay attention and listen to Her. She knows.

This Morning we are proud Grandparents to a new baby boy. Our son and his wife gave birth at 7 A.M. to Alexander. 8 pounds 6 ounces!
Welcome Alexander!

What nourishes you?

The winds of the springs solstice
sweeping out the old
rushing in the new
The spirits
of the ancestors
twirling around me

The sight
of Grandmother Moon
sitting regally
in the clear night sky
ever watchful and serene
over her Earth children

Indian drums
beyond the mountains
speaking in unity
singing of truth
while I'm dancing
with the moonlight

Drums Beyond the Mountains

Today was the beginning of Spring, the Solstice and with the ushering in of a new season, came a call for drums. Native elders and traditionals were calling for a worldwide drumming and prayer for the healing of Mother Earth. Many people around the world werebeginning to drum at 12:00 their time, which created a wave of drums throughout the world.
We spent our early morning in prayers, in preparation for the drumming. I had to go to work, but I returned home at 12:00 to gather with a small circle of close friends to commence drumming in the truth, the hope, and the vision for the seven generations. Last minute, a good friend and one of our gifted medicine people called to remind us. This was taking on enormous proportions! The drumming began and it was a powerful experience, as we sang the Gathering song, the eagle song, the Mi'kMaq honor song, and others. The winds began to rise out of the west and gust in a counterclockwise motion and the sky grew clear crystal blue with the sun sitting up high to guide our hearts, the air grew colder and crisper. Twice during the drumming the door blew open unexpectedly, which only sought to confirm to us that the ancestors were about and participating with us. Even the baby...who came home from pre-school got in on the drumming~it was awesome to feel the power and unity beginning to resonate and raise the vibration of human consciousness. The winds continued throughout the day and grew more and more powerful, swirling around us whenever we were outside. Tonight when I came home from work, I took a few minutes to dance with the winds, twirling around in their wake and at times stopping to feel their powerful touch on my upturned face, for I love the wind. Grandmother Moon sat regally in the clear night sky, observing and ever watchful over her earth children. The winds finally subsided at around 2:00 A.M. and there is a stillness that has settled over our part of the universe. It's clear and feels clean and fresh out there ... perhaps a positive shift occurred today. This morning I am going over to the Peace Pagoda to attend sunrise ceremonies, a beautiful way to drum awake the day.
Wuliwin to everyone who took part in the drumming, from all directions and all spiritualities...and to quote a dear friend...My heart to your heart...one heart..one spirit.

And there are drums
Beyond the Mountains
Indian Drums
That you Can't hear
And there are drums
Beyond the mountains
And they're getting
Mighty Clear

Regrouping

Resting and regrouping after a tenuous week~ Lots of new faces at the Night Owl has been good medicine for me this week, a respite amid the chaos of phone calls, business arrangements, funeral arrangements, and the like.
My street kids have kept my mind of of things, they make me laugh and they appreciate me. We've been doing alot of good cooking over at the drop in, some of which they helped with...GAWD... they make me really laugh watching them trying to figure out how to cook and go by a recipe. The other night one was making hot wings (his own recipe) the other was trying his hand at rice and beans, and the other two were making an apple pie! Was thinking of calling them the "Hip Hop Chefs"... I have never seen anyone do the robot, pop and lock, or crunkin while they were cooking! they are awesome!~and I have to say the meal wasn't too shabby either...to quote them: "It was up front on the block!" (which means really cool)

I feel almost ready to howl again.
