My Life Goal

My Life goal is simple, to live happily ever after. But how do I do that?

Well, my 'happily ever after' consists of running my own business ( www.simondeveloping.com ), and having enough money to live comfortably. I don't care if I am filthy rich or not, just not under stress due to financial status.

I want to enjoy everything life has to offer.

My current status:
I have realized the first part of my dream, and I am now Self Employed. It is still new for me at this point, and I am working on getting the business into better financial shape to make it work long term. At this point it will only carry me for 3 - 6 months. The good news is that I have plenty of recruiters calling me for work. I do not want to go back to that, but at least I know that I can. I enjoy working for myself, actually for my clients. I enjoy having the flexibility for a work schedule, although it is nothing like some people think. Even though I am actually working harder than before, I have had a smile on my face since it has started. And THAT is what it is about. Knowing that I can barely pay the bills, but how I am getting the money is why I am smiling. I am doing it on my terms.

My goal at this point: grow the business so it can support me in retirement.

This stuff is all about...

This is all about me! Of course, no one has filled out a testimonial about me. I guess I should take that as a hint! Feel free to contact me on anything, I will always give my 2 cents on a subject that I have an opinion on. The only subjects off limits in my book are politics and religion, they are too volatile, I won't change your mind, and you won't change mine.

If you have some time, please check out my personal site: www.bradsimon.com. While you are there, add a new quote to my quote of the minute at: www.bradsimon.com/newquote.aspx

Thanks for checking me out!!

( services » computer ) "Great Computer stuff!" I have dealt with Digilink a few times. I have only dealt with the Kalamazoo location. Each time I have been there, the people know their stuff. I am a computer geek, and it is nice to know that the people here can answer my questions, and keep... read more

webtrends ( miscellaneous » computers / tech tips ) "I can do 99% of what you need" Well, I have a couple of options for you. #1, I can do 99% of what you need. I don't have real time stats, BUT, you can look at deep-metrix or webtrends, as they both have 'hosted' reports. We put a little script on the server, and all the stat... read more

My Blog

Almost 3 weeks ago I was told that there will be no phase 2 of the current project, and that the contract will be terminated in 30 days (that was the terms in the contract). So, my first reaction was, it is too close to Christmas, no one hires this time of year, I am screwed. So, I put my resume out on 3 sites, and got hits within hours. That was a relief.

A week later, one of my current clients contacted me about some more work that they have. I suggested that they put me on a retai... read more

If you have read my other posts, you know that I had moved my girlfriend, and kids from far away to my house. Here is an update: We got married on November 11, 2005. We had some problems starting in January / February. I tried to do what I could to make it work. In March, things seemed a little better, but I was informed that they weren't. On May 7th, 2006, we decided to get a divorce.. on May 9th, I changed my mind, and wanted to work things out. No deal on her side. I spent the next ... read more

The gulf states are in a world of hurt. I would like to go down there and help them with whatever I can do, but I guess I can simply donate to the Red Cross, and spread the word about donating, too.

This disaster has caused more destruction than the 4 hurricanes combined last year that hit Florida. If you don't know what I am talking about, maybe you should look at ANY news site, or turn the TV on and watch the news, ANY news station. This is bad, very bad.

Ugh. I am so frustrated. I work 100 miles from my house, and I have an apartment near work. I have Comcast at the apartment, and love it. Home, is another story. I choose to put my house where it is, I paid $$ to have a phone line put to my house, along w/ Gas, and Electric. I love the location of my house. It is quiet, a decent sized yard, and I like it there.

I cannot get acceptable high speed internet. I had satellite for about a year or so. It was ok for surfing, but I am a de... read more

The 4th of July weekend just ended. It was the first weekend that we had together as a family. Unfortunately, there is still a ton of unpacking to do, and that is what was done. One thing that my son and I did was to build a sandbox for his sister. Basically, I don't like the idea of a big green plastic turtle in my yard, so I bought two 8' landscaping timbers to make a 4' x 4' sandbox. The materials cost all of $4.25, not including the sand. I bought 500 lbs of sand for $20.00, so I th... read more
