I just came home to two huge surprises from my partner Tom. He snuck into my apartment while I was at work today and installed attachment points to my new bed and did three months worth of dishes. I'm fucking floored. I only mentioned a desire to install some rings into the bed for bondage once a number of weeks ago when I first got the bed. And the dishes... well, the dishes were part of the aftermath from being sick for 2 1/2 months. I've just been too scared to go after them.

I'm so touched and happy and in love that I'm actually crying. And the bastard's currently at the gym so I can't even give him a big swat on the butt and hug him and kiss him and simply melt away in love. Fucker.

I'm actually sifting though my fairly large book collection and giving away books that no longer need to live with me. It's quite an eclectic collection and at times a bit embarrassing to admit to having owned some. I've carted around a few of them since high school even. However, they are now looking for new homes.

Because I have an amazing book collection software program, I was even able to create a webpage in no time at all with all kinds of information about the below books (description, cover image, number of pages, publish date, ISBN, etc.) You can find that information on my website here: http://whipsnkisses.org/FreeBooks2008.html

Please comment here by no later than Sunday, June 9th at 5 p.m. if you would like any of these books. As I am cross-posting this a bit, it'll be a first come first served kind of deal and I'll let you know on the 9th whether you claimed a book first. Unless I see you fairly regularly, you should also be able to pick up the book(s) of your choice from me in downtown Oakland. All unadopted books will be donated to charity.

I've spent the past couple of hours generally cleaning up my new motorcycle and trying to get some of the rust off. I'm pleasantly surprised with how well my little turtle wax polish & rust remover worked, but I'm curious how much more rust I could potentially get off the bike. Any suggestions for hardcore rust removing that won't destroy the bike?

This weekend I committed the following debaucherous sins:

* met lots of really frick'n amazing new friends
* laughed so hard and so much that I've pretty much lost my voice
* spent the vast majority of 3 days inebriated (and some of my sleeping hours)
* tried two new substances (a number of times, mixed up w/ some familiar substances)
* rode on the back of a couple of dirt bikes for the first time (mostly naked)
* shot at stuffed animals with two shotguns (w/ both bird shot and a slug)
* danced until I could dance no more
* fucked
* wandered in the dark
* napped
* dreamt I was at an amazing camp out, woke up and realized I WAS at an amazing camp out, rejoiced
* was blown away by amazing sunsets and night skies
* listened to a beautiful woman dressed up as a bunny rap & rhyme into a microphone around the fire
* took the most exhilarating and death defying truck ride of my life (twice)
* shared in amazing food and community
* watched both a ginormous penguin and wooden origami crane burn
* sat my bare ass on a warm rock by the river while it lightly drizzled
* sat in front of the bass speaker, took hits of happy air and ate pop rocks
* listened to poetry by the fire
* lounged by the road and shared a hookah
* loved on a whole lot of dogs
* etc.

fuck'n yay. bliss.

I actually have two accounts. One of them has my legal name on it and all my professional and education information on it so that old classmates and coworkers can find me. The other one is essentially an extension of this profile. I don't have any friends on Facebook that I don't have here. Therefore, I've decided to get rid of the personal one.

Joe, I hope that you get the money you paid for me back. Everyone else, if you feel a strong desire to throw sheep at me or turn me into a vampire, you are always welcome to email me or send me a private message here. ;P

FOR SALE: 3 section laundry sorter

I bought a 3 section laundry sorter from Target about 3 years ago. It has served me well but I am no longer in need of it. It's still in pretty darned good condition considering I've been using it for 3 years. It's not all scratched up or smelly or anything.

It's similar to this one that Target has now: http://shrunklink.com/aqkv (which is priced at $70, btw) I've attached the image of that one to this blog.

It has 3 separate canvas laundry bags that can be removed form the rolling cart. I suppose the only real difference is that my sorter doesn't have that wire bottom.

I'm figuring since it's still in good condition and these babies are going for upward of $70 that I'd be happy to sell mine for $40, OBO. Let me know if you're interested! You'll have to arrange pick up in downtown Oakland, but it shouldn't be a huge pain at all since it's fairly lightweight and easy to take apart.

I just visited my old high school's website and noticed that you could search for alum. I then noticed that it would list any name that you put in the search box on the alum site hoping that if the alum being searched for will notice this and feel wanted and register for the stupid service. How could I not mess with this???

I figure either a) there's a reality check on the other end by a live human being that can look up real alum's names and by tomorrow my addition will be gone or b) no one has figured out the beautiful possibilities that exist to totally fuck with it yet.

But for now, my dear friend Yo Mama, class of 1997, is memorialized on the alum page of my high school's website. Ah, the memories I have of Yo Mama! In fact, I can post a memory of Yo Mama for everyone to see if I really want to. Or better yet, I could send Yo Mama a private message! *purrr* *gnash teeth*

p.s. you must click on photo to actually be able to read it.

Cuteness Overload!!!

There is a colony of feral cats behind my apartment building. Every year there's a new batch of them and the kittens always break my heart. However, they're usually fairly skittish and under the close supervision of an older cat.

Well, when I got home from work this evening there was one kitten running around pouncing on grass and rolling around on its back having the time of its life. There were no other cats around and she didn't run off when I got closer. She was very curious about my helmet and bag that I had set on the ground when I saw her. I had just stopped for food and so I fed her some of my chicken.

Then she began to play with me and let me pet her. Eventually she ended up crawling onto my hand. As I held her up against my chest and under my jacket, she fell asleep and was purring! I swear I nearly died. When I put her down and was walking away she began to cry and follow me. I managed to distract her with the bowl of milk that was set out for the feral cats by one of my neighbors and sneaked away.

However, if anyone is interested in absolutely adorable and playful kitten, I've got one who would probably really appreciate a home.

p.s. yes, that is her in the picture. :)

I went to go get my hips x-rayed yesterday. My x-ray tech was a cute, flaming African American man. He told me to take off my pants and put on the gown, which I did. He called me in, positioned me in an awkward pose that was slightly painful and then went into the little shielded station to take the x-rays.

I'm just hanging out in my gown in an awkward position when he calls out from his little room, "Honey, are you wearing underwear?" He had only told me to take my pants off so that was all I had taken off. I replied that yes I was. He then replies back, "Does it have a zipper on it?" At first I'm totally confused and then I realized what he must be actually seeing and I chuckle and say, "Ummm, no.. there's just a lot of.. uh.. jewelery there." He gave a little chuckle too and he put me in a couple more weird positions and then we were done.

He let me look at my x-rays and my 7 dwarves so totally look like a mangled zipper of some kind. It's hilarious. You can also see my IUD and my navel piercings. I ordered digital copies of the x-rays to be mailed to me. I can't wait to get them. (and yes, I am so totally going to post them.)

LOVE IT.

going away

I feel like if I don't get away from civilization for a bit that I'm going to lose it. So, yesterday I bought round trip airfare and reserved a rental care to go out to Joshua Tree National Park in southern CA ($107 roundtrip!!! $270 for an SUV for four days, unlimited mileage!!!). Even though it's cheap, I probably "shouldn't" spend the money. However, I also "shouldn't" go insane and (novel idea) actually take care of myself.

I haven't had an actual going away type vacation since I went to Paris w/ Geo in February 2007, so I'm about due. My boss was doing some stats yesterday and informed me that since July 1, 2007, I have worked with 2000 clients. That's 2000 stories, often intense and always violent. Wow. I've also spent 252 hours in class usually discussing stuff that is not only intellectually demanding but also personally thought-provoking. Those hours do not include the meal breaks between classes or the massive amounts of time I spend reading and writing outside of class. I've also spent roughly 52 hours in therapy in the past year rummaging through deep stuff. I've had relationships come and go, change, grow and fade. I've quit jobs and changed careers. I lost my car and have taken on a whole new form of transportation. Even more recently, my childhood dog has died and I've suddenly had to deal with long-term medical issues with my hips.

That's certainly a lot of time doing/dealing with really intense stuff. I'm not implying that my life is full of negative, awful things. In fact, much of the deep stuff mentioned is actually quite wonderful and fulfilling for me. However, it doesn't change that it's a LOT OF DEEP STUFF to be dealing with for a year without a vacation. So, I'm getting the hell out of here before I collapse.

I'm going away from Thursday, April 24th at ReallyFuckingEarly a.m. and coming back Monday, April 29th late p.m. I'm taking Tuesday off work too just to get reintegrate back into the so-called "real world." I'm going to be camping in the park, relaxing, napping, taking (easy & slow) walks, meditate, write, read, and sleep under the desert sky. It can't come soon enough.
