There are many aspects to success; material wealth is only one component. Moreover, success is a journey, not a destination. Material abundance, in all its expressions, happens to be one of those things that makes the journey more enjoyable. But success also includes good health, energy and enthusiasm for life, fulfilling relationships, creative freedom, emotional and psychological stability, a sense of well-being and peace of mind. Even with the experience of all these things, we will remain... read more

Approval cannot be trusted. It can be withdrawn at any time no matter what our track record has been. It is as nourishing of real growth as cotton candy. Yet many of us spend our lives pursuing it." - Rachel Naomi Reme

i am an information architect, musician and designer, a creator & storyteller. a strategist and problem solver, a cultural engineer. i am a walking encyclopedia of the strange and wonderful. my world exists in number, geometry and its form.

i have a thirst for knowledge which knows no bounds, from subject to subject like a hypertext search engine.

i have introspective moments; playing piano, writing music, reading. my meditation. my sanity.

i am impulsive, i live in the moment - for the moment is all we have. what's gone is gone, and that which is yet to come will be known soon enough.

i do not plan much, apart from my work - in which I'm intuitive, pragmatic, methodical and guided.

i am perfectly harmless, but if I decide to disintegrate your brain with a intergalactic missile, you may be in trouble.

i believe everything and everyone is sacred. respect, truth and honesty is my amour. deceit and hatred is my foe. compassion is my weakness and my strength. I am protected by law and governance from the source.

I am a protector and guide. I share wisdom with all those who are willing to share.

I am who i am, but i am not the man i was a moment ago.

I am flawed, and yet I am flawless.

this is my way, and the way of things.

IF

IF you can keep your head when all about you
Are losing theirs and blaming it on you,
If you can trust yourself when all men doubt you,
But make allowance for their doubting too;
If you can wait and not be tired by waiting,
Or being lied about, don't deal in lies,
Or being hated, don't give way to hating,
And yet don't look too good, nor talk too wise:

If you can dream - and not make dreams your master;
If you can think - and not make thoughts your aim;
If you can meet with Triumph and Disaster
And treat those two impostors just the same;
If you can bear to hear the truth you've spoken
Twisted by knaves to make a trap for fools,
Or watch the things you gave your life to, broken,
And stoop and build 'em up with worn-out tools:

If you can make one heap of all your winnings
And risk it on one turn of pitch-and-toss,
And lose, and start again at your beginnings
And never breathe a word about your loss;
If you can force your heart and nerve and sinew
To serve your turn long after they are gone,
And so hold on when there is nothing in you
Except the Will which says to them: 'Hold on!'

If you can talk with crowds and keep your virtue,
' Or walk with Kings - nor lose the common touch,
if neither foes nor loving friends can hurt you,
If all men count with you, but none too much;
If you can fill the unforgiving minute
With sixty seconds' worth of distance run,
Yours is the Earth and everything that's in it,
And - which is more - you'll be a Man, my son!

--Rudyard Kipling

This poem was hung on the bathroom wall in our old house. It was perhaps the first poetry I ever read, nursery rhymes aside. I lived in this house from the age of three, until I was eighteen . . on and off. I'd guess I have read it at least three thousand times whilst bathing . . . so its pretty ingrained I would say . . . and never far from my thoughts . . even to this day.
