I'm a little over 2/3 done with this program right now and I gotta say, I love it. I'm learning so much, the supervision is really excellent, the patients are inspiring, etc, etc. I can't say enough good things about it.

500 Hour Certification Program



The Institute for Health & Healing is known worldwide as a center of clinical expertise, educational integrity, and personal transformation. We created the Institute to fulfill the dreams of those who want to integrate a philosophy of caring for the whole person into the practice of mainstream medicine.

The Integrative Medicine Education Massage Therapy program is a 500 hour, twelve month training program which combines education and supervised clinical training in the hospital. Students work directly with patients who have a variety of medical conditions.

The program focuses on three areas of development. First, discipline specific training to advance your understanding and proficiency in massage therapy while developing your use of “therapeutic presence.” In the second focus, Massage interns will develop specific skills in order to fully participate in our cutting-edge conventional and integrative medical providers’ team approach for outstanding patient care. Third, professional development is addressed through the action/reflection model, goal setting and self care practices.

Program Logistics:

Prerequisites – CMT; 6 months work experience preferred

Application Deadline – June 30, 2008

Program Begins – September 2008, Ends September 2009

Classes weekly (6 hours)

In-hospital Shifts weekly (5 hours)

Four weekend Retreats

Fee $2800 + $250 for Pediatric Certification

500 hour Certification upon successful completion
