My Testimonials

May 6, 2008
This is a great guy.
He gives great hugs and makes me smile...
and is there when the tough get going.
He will be my friend for always...
his profile is not pretentious, what you see is what you get.
Just don't piss him off.
(hee hee!)

No, just kidding... he is mild mannered in most areas.

If he's your friend, he's "a keeper" fo sho. but you already know that!

When Widget found this Virgin Burner looking for info/advice he invited me to place my tent amongst him and his fellow Burners who welcomed me as if I had always been part of their clan. Thanks Widget! May we one day meet again at a trailhead or another adventure.

I met Widget around 15 years ago in The High Sierra, we seemed to click, exchanged names and phone numbers and forgot about one another until 8 years ago, when we met on the trail once again and this time we decided to do some backpacking trips together and we've walked perhaps 3,000 miles since then, with more fond memories and not a bad vibe between us in all those miles. He's the real deal, always up for an adventure, a good friend and can talk about most anything. He's been going to burning man for about a decade and finally persuaded me to go 3 years ago and it's been a pleasure each year since then. Last year @ BM was the best, with around 25 friends in our camp and good ju ju all around.
Looking forward to more fun~

about me
It's good to have passions in life and I am blessed to have several including hiking, backpacking, fly fishing, rock climbing, winter mountaineering, skiing, and Burning Man. Personal, emotional, intellectual and physical evolution is a process that I am actively engaged, and learning everything I possibly can is a big part of that process. Life is a great gift not to be taken lightly, nor too seriously. Balance and moderation in all things.

Re: San Diego Hikers (in So. Cal. Hiking!) Thanks Jeni. I'll attest to the sharing of food thing. Jeni is one of the best backcountry chefs I've ever met and I've loved everything she or Jon have made or brought along on our backpack trips.

Re: I want to go backpacking in the rain (in Backpacking) I've found that the best way to camp in rainy conditions is to set up a rainfly over my hammock.

Whether you use a Hennessy or a Crazy Creek hammock you're likely to stay dry. The great thing is that you can pack up all your stuff under the... read more
