Jinjer is a ridiculously potent secret weapon of undercover sexiness. Damn. I wasn't supposed to tell. Let's just say I miss her butt shaking in my face more than she knows. Damn now she knows that too. Um nice weather we're having.

about me
Life story in a nutshell:
I've been designing clothes since I could hold a pencil between me chubby toddler fingers. My sewing training started early; I made my first pair of (purple corduroy) pants at age 10 and made elaborate reenactment, Halloween & dance costumes for myself throughout high school and college, not to mention my prom dress (and other dresses for any flimsy excuse to overdress). You'd think I was poised to build my fashion empire ASAP, but eschewing the practical arts (In my family, drawing talent meant you'd become an architect. or an engineer), I pursued my other career love & studied Plant Biology for 7 years. Halfway through my PhD program at UC Berkeley, I realized I am way too creative (ahem) for a life of pipetting liquids back and forth, so in 2002, I extracted an MS degree and founded my collaborative clothing business, Asarum. During the transition period that happened over the next 3ish years, I was a fabric pimp at Stone Mountain & Daughter Fabrics, the official costumer for the dance theater company, Ultra Gypsy, a stitcher in a high end custom curtain factory, and and a teacher at Stitch Lounge, the School of The Arts, and CCA's YASP. Speaking of Ultra Gypsy, I was a core dancer in the troupe for three years, and have taught many bellydancing classes. Analyzing students' bodies has given me a fantastic understanding of how women really look and move-- and the many beautiful girl shapes are inspiring! My creativity, sewing experience, problem-solving smarts & obsession with the female form (not to mention 4 years of working experience) coalesce in some rad collaborative clothing skills. So hire me already!
