re-using needles

Today i was gifted 11 pairs of knitting needles, ranging in size from 1 - 15 !!! as well as a bunch of super skinny double ended needles...im not sure about those yet...i guess i have some research to do...i am ecstatic! last week i knitted a pair of fingerless glove thingies, and some of the crafty ladies i talk to at work want me to make them some too, and i have started my first sweater, hopefully it will turn out, its an experiment really, because i'm impatient ...i only know how to do a basic knitting, i'm not even practiced @ decreasing and increasing...but i really want to move onto something more challenging...
