Judge McCann in San Bernadino

If you live in San Bernadino County and are voting today, please vote for my sister Briye McCann for Judge.

She has spent the last decade or so as a Deputy District Attorney (considered by some to be one of the best sources for judges) and is one of the most fair people I know with an impressive knowledge of the Law.

If you know anyone there, please ask them to vote for her.

If you don't live there, please send my sister good vibes.

she will more than likely be the front runner, but if she wins more than 50% of the vote, she won't have to continue campaigning and spending money through Novemeber, as she would be declared winner of the seat from this election, so she needs the vibes!!!!

thank you!

RESCU RALLY is this Saturday!

And I am one of the 2008 Mr. Ren Faire Contestants!
do any of these phrases sound odd to you? then let me explain:

WHAT IS RESCU? (from their website~ www.rescufoundation.com):
"The RESCU Foundation is a non-profit organization established to promote and maintain the health and medical well-being of the participants of Renaissance Faires, historical performances and other artistic events through financial assistance, education, advocacy, and preventative programs."

WHAT IS 'MR. REN FAIRE'?:
it is a good fun competition between certain Faire personalities to gather support in the form of donations. The contestant with the most money to hand over at 10 PM on Sunday is declared Mr Ren Faire and gets the privilege of carrying the golden turkey leg (a high honor!).

I will be accepting donations toward my chances all week (paypal info below) and all day Saturday. I am also accepting suggestions as to what my performance/act should be on Saturday night at the rally.

Please allow me to be the channel with which you donate money to this fantastic cause that has helped and is helping many members of my family that is the Faire community. But, If not through me, then through the Mr. Ren Faire contestant of your choice. It is more important to me that you give, than that you give to me!

The details from the Foundation:
"It's that time again! Support the RESCU Foundation and our community by attending the RESCU Rally at the Fool's Stage after faire closes on Saturday, May 3rd!

-2nd Annual Mr. Ren Faire Competition began Saturday, April 26 and will run until Rally Night. Show support for you favorite contestant by sponsoring him as Mr. Ren Faire 2008.

-Silent Auction began Saturday, April 26 and will run weekend days until Rally Night in the Friends of Faire Garden. Item donations are tax deductible and can be submitted to a RESCU Representative, or to the Friends of Faire Garden. Come on by before faire, or during faire for three days of bidding.

-Get involved by purchasing raffle tickets. Raffle tickets are $1 and you can get them at FOF.

If you put your name and phone number or booth number on the ticket, you don't even have to be there to win!

-Commencing event at the Fool's Stage, after faire, Saturday, May 3rd. There will be free food (thank you Marta!), drink, entertainment, fun and support of a great cause.

The RESCU Foundation is a non-profit organization established to promote and maintain the health and medical well-being of the participants of Renaissance Faires, historical performances and other artistic events through financial assistance, advocacy, education, and preventative programs.

Who am I playing this year?

Many have heard already that I am not playing Shakespeare this year. this is true, I turned down the role for what I hope to become a bigger idea for faire (which I will go into at length if you ask me in person and have time to listen to me rattle on). Shakespeare is being played this year by Charles Griffin, who was Shakespeare before I was, so he is not new to the role. He has been playing the towns tax collector the past few years, and is now putting his EXTENSIVE knowledge of the works of Shakespeare to use again! (Please support him in this role, as I know you all will!)

So, what is on the table for me? I will be known as Master Peter Pennyworth (I used up all the William derivatives i liked). He is a bit actor from London who has come to Deptford to be ahead of the game here and own the first Theater in Deptford, which he is already calling The Crescent Theater. He has noticed all this foreign entertainment, but is hoping to bring real English Theater to the town. To this purpose, he will be seeking financial backing, bugging Darby for land, and seeking actors, seamstresses and such. He has even convinced Shakespeare to help him petition the Queen to let him cast women in the female roles!

Additionally, to try and work his way into the already existing entertainment industry in Deptford, you may spot Peter helping out in other shows.

so:
bit actor
trying to open a theater
begging people for help
worming his way into other shows

yep, I will be basically playing ME (with an Elizabethan slant) (O.K., not really, but someone was going to make the joke...)

and, if all goes well...
next year, you might just see the Crescent Theater as you walk around the southern site...

best of luck to ALL of you faire folk! I can't wait, this year will be fantastic!

Happy St. Patrick's Day

hope you all have a grand day! and i hope to see you tonight at Brit's Pub and then at Koji's!

Performance Announcement!

I am extremely excited to announce that to celebrate St. Patrick's Day (or, more to the point, Night), Willie Banger will be performing at Koji's Restaurant in Hollywood! I will be following some great acts who will be offering music ranging from Irish pub songs to more modern hits. I will also be performing some of my favorite Irish songs as well as selected performances from my newly released CD.

So while I am sure you all are going to the Wives/Boggards show at the El Rey (5515 Wilshire Blvd) on this Saturday, the 15th (doors open at 7:30, see you there)…

And I am sure you are all planning on spending St. Patrick’s day itself with Sportive Tricks and the Belles of Bedlam at the Brit’s Pub (1770 E. Colorado Blvd.) in Pasadena (doors open, again, at 7:30, and I will see you there)…

BUT, if you just haven't had enough music at that point, or are a late night type of person, or just feel like supporting another Faire Family Member~ I will be leaving Brit’s Pub around midnight (after the Tricks/Belles show) and heading straight there!

Festivities will take place at Koji's Restaurant at the Hollywood and Highland complex located at 6801 Hollywood Blvd in Hollywood, CA. You can take Johnny Grant Way off of Highland, north of Hollywood Blvd to get there and it will take you into the parking structure. Park on any level and take the elevator to the 4th floor. Parking is $2 for 4 hours with a validation stamp.

This will be my first solo gig, and they are letting me sing to top off the St. Patrick’s Night festivities, from about 1AM until the bar closes for the night. I will be leaving Brit’s Pub around midnight (after the Tricks/Belles show) and heading straight there!
So, to those that like to party late into the night, I hope I will see you there as well (I could always use the support!)

The clean version of the CD will be available at the performance! (if you pre-ordered it, you should be receiving it any day now, as they are in the mail!) Dirty Version will be available soon!

catching up

I am way behind in e-mail responses.
I have voicemails i've yet to even listen to.
I just started laudry from my trip a week and a half ago, in fact some of those clothes were still in my trunk until this morning.
I have tons of stuff coursing through my mind, in so many areas.
I haven't seen my family in a month.
In fact, I haven't seen most of my friends since i got back.
I am definately not short on sleep, though i am always sleepy.
My mood is unsure, as is my work situation and my life situation.
At least the latter two are under my control, but decisions must be made.
I want to take a week and just spend it writing.
I want to take a week and get caught up with friends, so no one debates their importance in my life.
I want a week to think... oh wait... i just had one, and that is where most of this comes from.

I will get caught up (at least relatively so).
I will return those e-mails and phone calls, and appologize for the delay.
I will make my decisions and get the current flowing how i want, at least the GENERAL direction.
I will embrace the consequences of the decisions i make, though that doesn't mean i won't vent about the bad turns from time to time.

I appreciate your patience, support, love, wisdom, concern, and friendship in general. My friends are a big part of why i am able to make it through each day.

Thank you!

P.S. this is not about anything or anyone, just my attempt at an update.
