Bear Alert!

A bear busted out my passenger side window. There is glass everywhere.
Stupid me, I left some dog food in the back of the car. As if not bad enough the window was left down about 1.5 inches.
The bear pulled on the glass a bit and it shattered outward on to the ground.
Thankfully the food was all eaten with some dirt tracked onto the seats.
How do I know it was a bear?
The giant bear paw print in the snow and brown hair scraped off the window edge.

I camped in Yosemite moving from the East to home in PDX. My excuse in early May was the upcountry bears were probably still sleeping. I did (sometimes) store the food about 100 feet away and cook there. Done many unintentionally more dangerous things since. Theoretical respect for bears (re)inhabiting their land meets self defense. Hope it never comes to that!

Poor starving bears. Maybe there should be some way figured out of leaving food for the bears. Their obviously hungery.... I feel so bad for them.. just think if you were starving so much that you had to break into someone's car and eat dog food just to survive...
