Who are the REAL mis-fits?

Misfit is the label given by society to those humans who don’t match the criteria for ‘normal’ behavior, beliefs and desires. Most so-called ‘normal’ people accept if they are to sport the ‘normal’ badge, they will be required to shape themselves into psychological, career and social boxes that we know deep down are not contoured to the freedom, spontaneity and genuine expression of the individual spirit. The ‘normal’ illusion versus reality. In other words to become normal will most likely require us to deny or suppress our individual and unique human spirit. And because this denial and suppression is SO painful we are driven to opiate ourselves with TV and material goods to stop us becoming neurotic about not being real. The powers that be know that. They maintain control by forcing us to slave at the altar of money whilst hypnotically drawing us to all manner of stuff designed specifically to dumb us down. The universal jigsaw puzzle Imagine all life on earth as being an integral part of a huge multi-dimensional jigsaw puzzle. All members of the mineral, plant, animal and human kingdoms are given a specific, unique structure and ‘shape’ that is designed to fit into the puzzle and complete the big picture. The fit is dependent on the unique structure of each part of the system maintaining it’s shape system. Fitting into THIS puzzle should be easy because our given role is to be who we truly are</b> deep down beneath the programming and fully express our unique gifts, skills and talents. However, the world hasn’t learned to work like that. We aren’t taught to explore and realize our true role. Instead most of us are forced to squeeze ourselves into a distorted shape to fit the illusory big picture thus creating a global distortion. It’s a bit like the ‘ugly’ sister trying in vain to squeeze her foot into the shoe designed uniquely for Cinderella. When we assume our proper, unique shape, and step into our own shoes, the entire world operates smoothly in harmonic orchestration, this is what we call REAL-FIT How to tell if you’re a real-fit If you’ve felt like a mis-fit for most of your life, or wondered why the world is so alien to your way of thinking and being; if you sense that society is unjustly organized; that people’s spirit is suppressed and that money as the primary goal has become a self-looping addiction, then you’re probably a REAL-FIT. You’ve likely refused to squeeze yourself into a shape that you’ve known is NOT you and you’ve paid their price for being real. Psychoanalyst and Social commentator, Dr Erich Fromm questioned the definition of normalcy in his paper ‘The Psychology of Normalcy’. He suggested that neurotic symptoms are not a ‘default’ on the part of the individual. Instead, they are a partial rejection of oppressive or alienating society. So what the frack is considered normal in 21st century society? As you read this list you will likely realize with gratitude just how abnormal [according to today’s standards] yet real [according to universal laws] you are. And, you will be reminded once more of the degree of perverted thinking that is gripping the majority of people in our so-called ‘civilized’ society. In ‘normal’ society all of these behaviors are going on all the time and until now have been commonly accepted as ‘how life is’. The Real Mis-Fits Revealed Below are some of the things that we have been taught are how life is. They are mostly considered ‘normal’ and acceptable to the majority of society despite the fact that they go against the laws of nature and true humanity. And most of you reading this, including the authors, will have bought into this normality in some way or another. Land owned and fortressed by a few individuals rather than open and stewarded by all Selfish-concern – I’m all right Jack and frack you, even if you are dying Walking past a homeless person, salving your conscience by giving them money yet secretly judging them for being lazy, good for nothings Believing that the Earth is an endless resource designed primarily for human consumption Signing petitions virtually to save dolphins or end landfills and thinking you’ve done enough Buying food and other items in disposable containers yet not repurposing them Burning second-hand tires that could be used to produce walls for Earthship houses Goods deliberately designed to fail or become obsolete to further profit interests of the manufacturers Eating factory farmed meat that is produced with disregard for animal life and poisons us with chemicals and hormones Eating food that is full of MSG because it seems to taste nicer Microwaving food for speed and ‘efficiency’ while totally destroying all the enzymes in that food Kidding ourselves that all-natural means healthy when anything from uranium to deadly snake venom can be defined rightfully as ‘natural’ Allowing the destruction of rainforests to grow soybean to feed cattle to satisfy our addiction for burgers and other cheap meat products Big Corporates paying off law suits out of court with contingent ‘no publicity’ clauses so that they are still free to continue their ‘socially criminal’ activities Justifying pouring huge amounts of money into military activities in the name of securing resources Being opiated by the media to the point of mental numbness One person driving a six-seat gas guzzling SUV Far greater percentage of corporate investment in new weapons technology versus sustainable energy facilities Harnessing natural, sustainable energy in the name of ‘green’ yet selling it at great profit to individuals People grubbing a living on $1 a day while others spend $$$$ to buy an additional home that they use no more than two or three weeks a year Gated communities to protect the resources of the have’s and have-more’s Managed Healthcare that is more concerned with making a profit than making you well Doctors recommending pharmaceuticals based on material incentive and rewards for them versus an untainted concern for what’s best for you Greed – more for me even if it means less for ‘them’ Buying political influence for personal/corporate gain even at the expense of the greater good The right-wing rich using illegal immigrants as virtual ‘slave’ labor whilst promoting tougher crackdowns on immigration Persuading third world countries with offers of loans they can’t afford to develop huge infrastructure projects, which must be contracted to friends of the administration and result in huge debts and political and military blackmail Money printed and sold to the government for profit by a private organization Peddling drugs that don’t cure diseases but manage symptoms Prisons that punish rather than reform Using goods, gadgets and gaud to present a fake view of who you are to the rest of the world Expensive insurance that offers sweeping promises of security crippled by small print limitations and company profit policy that dictates paying out as little as possible Transference of blame by society to solely individual responsibility with a blind refusal to see our contribution to all of society’s ails Easy credit sold via ‘dreams can come true’ marketing with a disproportionate mention of the downside Protecting corporate profit by preventing generic manufacture of drugs to make them financially available to those in need Buying designer and low cost clothes produced in inhumane sweatshops Treating workers like slaves because there are 2,000 other hopeful desperates waiting to step into their shoes Promoting of earthly resource pillaging such as coal mining in the name of ‘jobs for our people’ Peddling food that is engineered to taste ‘better’ and thus becoming addictive and poisoning our systems Fear and mistrust of strangers - confinement of trust to small nuclear family rather than embracing wider community Being able to win a law suit based on the default of having more money to throw at a lawyer regardless of whether the case is just or not Letting people die on the streets because there is an inadequate welfare or employment system Media hypnosis that persuades you to buy things you don’t need but will dumb you down for a little while longer Giving up civil liberties of freedom because we’ve been corralled into the fear pen Believing the President of the US is the most powerful person in the world Allowing Corporates to legally ‘purchase’ self interest through campaign contributions Your every online activity being open to monitoring by government agencies Children stuck indoors for hours playing video games as opposed to running around in the fresh air Creating compliance out of fear generated by managed inflated hatred of a common enemy Dumping litter in the national forest because you can’t afford garbage pick-up No-Scavenging signs on local dumps preventing people from using discard to repurpose Snake-oil peddling of ‘get rich without lifting a finger’ schemes Cash rich opportunists buying up foreclosed property in the hopes of turning a quick buck Building codes that don’t take into account the sustainability and viability of naturally built shelter homes Preferring a manicured green bug-free lawn over a brown fertile food patch And that’s just a few of the things that the majority of people in the Western world consider ‘normal’. What would you add to the list? As George Bernard Shaw said the world was never changed by reasonable people because it takes an unreasonable person to go against the ‘norm’. As more and more people wake up and begin to join together in movements that buck the system and the ‘norm’ we are on the dawn of a breakthrough. It is time for the mis-fits to rise up and say as Peter Finch said in the film ‘Network’ way back in ’76. “I’m mad as hell and I’m not going to take it any more” What can we do? Each person has to choose their way or mixture of ways knowing truthfully that this is the best way for them to help shift themselves and the rest of the world in the right direction. Here are a few alternatives We can insinuate our ideas into the society, working from within the system under the guise of normalcy, spreading subtle awareness and rallying others to a new way of thinking by making steady progressive changes in our own lives. We can step out of society and reject the way it works whilst building a life and community of real-fits that is ready for tomorrow and a living example of what's possible. We can take legal action, rebel, protest, object to, disobey the rules, get thrown in jail as ways to bring public attention to the cause. We can play the system game to accumulate amounts of ‘money energy’ in order to plough it into changing the same system. Each person must choose the way that works for them. and know that even if others’ methods aren’t right for us, they are our sisters and brothers in a vital time of human evolution and we must find a way to work together or we will fail. We are the vanguard. We are the pioneers. We are the guides. To take this road requires great courage, and some of us may not survive long enough to see the results. The question we must ask ourselves of our every action, Is this taking me closer to my intent and ultimately is it the right thing to do for the good of all life on earth, now and into the future?

If We Don't, Who Will?

Someone who just joined one of our groups wrote something that really summed up what is going on today...deep in the hearts of most of us. "I would love nothing more than to feel what life is supposed to feel like. Western society is suffocating my soul. To the woods! " It's likely, given the current economic situation in most of the western world, that the dream of a nice house in the suburbs, a steady job, good income, stores full of food, a car or two in the driveway and a solid pension is slowly disappearing into the distance. The problem is that most people don't want to know. They bury their heads in the sand and continue to hope that Obama-style change is really on the way, that this economic downturn is just a blip and that we will recover. In the film, 'The Day the Earth Stood Still' Professer Barnhardt is pleading with Klaatu to save the earth. He says: "You say we're on the brink of destruction and you're right. But it's only on the brink that people find the will to change. Only at the precipice do we evolve. This is our moment" Humans seem to be programmed to take action only when the doo doo hits the fan . Acting at the precipice is too late. What has to happen for evolution to occur BEFORE it's too late? We need to evolve a new dream for the world. There are many resources in this world that are tightly held in the hands of the few. If we are to save the world, there has to be an 'epiphany' from out of those ranks. Imagine if one of the 'powers that be' were to turn round like Tony Stark in 'Ironman' [an arms manufacturer who decides, after a heavy duty personal epiphany, to use his resources to save the world rather than destroy it] and realize that he or she doesn't need all the stored up riches they have. Imagine if that person were to decide to use his or her resources to buy up huge tracts of land and hand them over to the people for rehabitation. Imagine if everyone who had acres of tended lawned land were to offer to share that land for the purpose of sustaining life? Imagine if the forest service were to free up tracts of land for community earth villages... Imagine if the people were to band together to reclaim and revitalize that land with self-sustaining simple earth-based communities, where homes are built out of natural and repurposed materials, harvesting and recycling rainwater, growing nutritious organic food and providing community education and care for the children. This dream is not new... but realizing that dream requires that the most precious resource we know is divided out amongst the people... in a fair way so that they can begin to live closer to the earth, demanding little other than basic sustenance. We dont' need much when we have the earth and good people around us. We don't need TV, we need storytellers. We dont' need Wal-Mart, we need to grow our own food and repurpose old stuff. We don't need to look good or have a wardrobe full of designer shoes, we need to have the right clothing for the climate. We don't need lawyers and accountants and doctors, we need carpenters, builders, healers, gardeners and wise elders. We don't need two gas guzzling cars in our garage, we need horses, bicycles and our feet. We don't need pharmaceuticals we need natural herbs and wellness promoting food. We don't need gold and silver, we need useful, natural materials with which to clothe, feed and house ourselves. We don't need to send our children to school or college we need to educate them in the ways of the spirit, inspiring them to find their purpose in this new world... We need to return to a truly earth-based lifestyle and take joy in the simple abundance of gifts our mother earth has to offer us. How can we effect this change on a mass level? How can we persuade the few that hold the resources that they don't need more than one home or huge tracts of lawned land doing no more than giving them an imagined sense of living close to the earth. The shift in consciousness is already happening at an accelerated rate, but we need to speed it up. We need to sow these positive thought viruses into the world and rally more and more people to the cause. What will happen if we don't? Here's the horror scene that could manifest if we don't take action now to educate those that have the power to help change this world. As resources dry up, planes, trucks and trains will stop running. Stores will no longer have food, lights won't come on at the flick of a switch and desperate people will begin to loot and pillage. The country will go under martial law. Will we go like lambs to the slaughter? Do you remember Solzhenitsyn' s words from "The Gulag Archipelago " And we sat there in our cells talking about, if only we had resisted them in the hallways, and in their vans. How we could have taken them down with sticks and pitforks ...." Let's hope it doesn't come to this... Let's hope there is nothing to resist or revolt over and that the world will come to a peaceful, fair-to-all solution.. We must do what it takes to spread the world and take any measures that we can to begin to carve out a simpler lifestyle. We're here in the woods,planting winter veggies, building a homemade greenhouse out of logs and plastic on the side of the house, heating it with an old discarded wood stove, topped with the inside of another discarded stove in which we can slow cook food. We're growing herbs for flavor and wheatgrass and sprouting seeds to provide nutrition. We don't own this land but we're doing what we can to survive simply. And we're attracting people to come join us and hole up for the winter..and longer, working together to do what one or two cannot. And we're taking solace from the energy of the forest that surrounds us, reminding ourselves that mother earth wants to save us...and that in this entire world, there is enough for all of us to have a simple life.. if only we can learn to live with less and share what we have. THE ROCKY ROAD

to Enlightenment We may think of men such as Buddha, Mohammed and Jesus as those who came to earth with a fully fledged enlightenment. Most men and women, however, do not reach this level of awareness in their entire lifetime. If you think you’re enlightened you’re likely living an illusion! What happens when you consider enlightenment not as a noun or something static, but as a movement, a verb, an ongoing process of waking up to reality and shedding the illusory defenses and pretences of our personalities? The Rocky Road to Enlightenment is our path from life to death. Some of us live our entire lives in an illusion, unaware of anything other than the goals and desires of the materialistic illusory world. And then something happens, a small spark, an awareness, an illumination. This is usually generated by a tiny nagging thought that occurs from time to time saying ‘there must be more’ or asking ‘this can’t be all there is’. It can be sparked by something someone says, a line we read in a book or a blog like this or by an unexpected kindness or action on the part of someone else. The only real given is that once woken we cannot go back to sleep again. And believe us, you will want to go back or you will know what we are talking about! Waking up to reality is similar to the process of Neo taking the Red Pill and getting that life outside the Matrix is not so shiny shiny. We are so programmed to seek the illusion, and to draw comfort from it yet the illusion keeps us in a zombie like dream. On the other hand living in reality allows us to be FULLY ALIVE. Once started along the road, we will experience a series of small illuminations, often triggered by a ‘dark’ experience. And if we are waking up and aware then we recognize that frequently the darker and more traumatic the experience, the greater the illumination available to us. These illuminations become pathfinders, points of light that show us the next steps in our journey. This journey is not about thinking spiritually or having a vast knowledge of spiritual texts or knowing the ‘how tos'. It is about having real experiences that face us with our egoic defenses and pretences and wake us up and engender a resolve to be and do differently. It’s about recognizing that these experiences, however uncomfortable we translate them to be, are showing us what needs to be addressed. It is about seeing how we stop ourselves from more fully participating in honest and open relationship with our own thoughts, personality and subsequently with other people. It is about catching ourselves if we can and congratulating ourselves each time we do. It is about being humble, admitting our part in the game and respecting the other for facilitating in us this illumination, no matter how harshly it appears to cut you to the quick. The steps are small, the path is uniquely yours and the road is eternal. Knowing how it works enables us to keep on track in the darkest of times. Ram Dass [Professor Richard Alpert] in ‘Be Here Now’ his classic book, gives some useful pointers to the process of spiritual waking up. Ram Dass was a big spiritual guru in the 60’s and subsequently suffered a stroke in his sixties, prompting him to rewrite his latest book ‘Still Here’. The book offers profound hindsight into his own process and is endearing in the way Dass observes himself and his egoic moves with humor. What’s really cool and a lesson to all of us is that after the stroke, Dass realized his journey of spiritual growth was far from done. The topography of the road to enlightenment [adapted from Ram Dass] YOU ARE NOT ENLIGHTENED Each stage one can label must pass away. If you think you’re enlightened, you’re probably not. IT GETS WORSE BEFORE IT GETS BETTER The initial euphoria at waking up will often be followed by and leave a sense of loss or even a despair that may seem like the Dark Night of the Soul. THE ROAD IS ROCKY This process is NOT smooth. Each new height is followed by a new low and understanding this makes it much easier to ride the aves. GLARING IMPERFECTIONS As you get illuminations so your imperfections seem more glaring. Relax. You’re not getting more stuck in the illusion, you’re just more aware of it. But also take heart in the fact that, as the demons get fiercer the illumination get Sbrighter. Think of if as the sweet that comes after the medicine. FAKE IT UNTIL YOU MAKE IT In the beginning you may see spiritual practice as something you do, like meditating for 40 minutes or giving to the poor or thinking abundantly. In time you realize mindfulness, being present and experiencing the moment IS spiritual practice. You can experience illumination as you pour a cup of coffee, wash the dishes or fire an employee. There is a Zen saying, "Before Enlightenment chop wood carry water, after Enlightenment, chop wood carry water. THE 'I'M SO SPIRITUAL' TRAP At some stage when you think you are being all good and spiritual you will get caught up in how ‘spiritual’ you are. In India this is called the Chain of Gold. The chain traps you in an inflated illusion of ‘oh I’m so spiritual’ that only exists up your own backside. We have to give up the illusion of total purity and holier than thou if we are ever to make progress. AM I THERE YET? Early in the journey you will I be probably wondering on a regular basis how long it will take or whether you have got it yet. and be saying to yourself ‘Oh if I do this course or read this book or meditate for x hours a day, I’ll get spiritual in two, three or four years' As you progress you realize that where you are going is ‘here’ and you will arrive ‘now’. LAUGH AT YOURSELF You will also start to get really serious about it all. Give it up. A cosmic sense of humor about your predicament, your resistance and your journey is an absolute requirement NOTHING'S HAPPENING - IS THIS SPIRITUALITY? At some phase you will experience a plateau, a sense that nothing is happening, in which case just continue chopping wood and carrying water or whatever equivalent you have in your life. Sweep floor, make beds. Fix car, drive to work. Write blog! Just keep on doing whatever YOUR Zen is! INSTANT ENLIGHTENMENT - NOT! You may have been led to believe that enlightenment will come upon you like the flash that hit St Paul on the road to Damascus that your halo will sprout and everyone will notice your spiritual energy. Bullshit. This is very very rare. Most frequently it is just a slow peeling of layers, like an onion, only slower! IN AND OUT At times you will experience not just the up and down process but the ‘in and out’. You will feel the need to go inside and spend time examining and experiencing your own inner processes and sometimes getting just how yukky it really is in there [and how nice it could be]. And you will also feel the need to be out in the world, connecting with and experiencing yourself in relation to others. Both the in and the out are part of a total process and feed each other. The rocky, stony road to enlightenment is full of challenges, obstacles and barriers that bring spiritual illuminations because it is in the facing of these and moving beyond them that we develop spiritual fortitude. Enlightened people don't have to sit on a velvet cushion, holding their fingers in om-cars, chanting mantras and getting into yoga asanas. They're all great, but remember, enlightenment comes from being present in whatever life you life, no matter how ordinary. And next time you scream at the guy who takes the parking space you were angling for or you think angry thoughts about your spouse, or you trip over something cos you’re not ‘here’… remember you’re human. Light of Freedom

What is freedom? "An individual has not started living until he can rise above the narrow confines of his individualistic concerns to the broader concerns of all humanity" "Life's most persistent and urgent question is, 'What are you doing for others?" Martin Luther King Martin Luther King Jr. knew that for change to happen the collective unconscious has to free itself from the exclusive ‘me and mine’ paradigm and embrace an all-inclusive ‘greater good’ concept. This is the path to personal freedom. It is a road less travelled. Freedom comes when we release ourselves from the competition, stress, anger and envy that accompany the pursuit of individual excess at the expense of others Freedom begins when we choose to work instead for universal abundance trusting that there is enough for all. Freedom comes when we deprogram ourselves from the collective hypnosis of materialistic desire and stop accumulating and using stuff as a dumb down denial escape pod. Freedom emerges as we learn to value the simple gifts of life such as fresh unpolluted water, clean air, a biodiversity of species, the life sustaining power of the trees, the grounding force of the earth and the joy of human connection. Freedom begins when we stop following the route set up for us by those that think they know what’s best for us based on their own personal and often misguided ambitions and desires. Freedom emerges as we choose to step onto the path that we intuitively feel is right for us. The more we follow our individual higher purpose, the freer we are to manifest and serve the world with our unique gifts. Freedom does not just turn up in the collective unconscious of nations. It begins with a few individuals here and there and like the hundredth monkey syndrome, it starts to emerge in people all over the world. Freedom begins when you break free from the prison of outdated dogmatic theologies and ideologies and the belief that God is a separate entity outside of and apart from yourself. Freedom emerges when we begin to sense that God is the collective light of all life in this universe and the galaxies beyond. God is only as good, bountiful and forgiving as we are collectively and that our every action contributes to the godliness or otherwise of the world. Freedom comes when you see another fall along the way, and instead of saying as the Pharisees did "what will happen to me if I stop and help this person?" you are compelled to ask "what will happen to this person if I don't stop and help?" Freedom begins when your commitment to change is no longer motivated by selfish individual greed, but by a harmonic desire for the betterment and enrichment of all mankind through the healing of ourselves and our planet.. It is our experience that this way of being does not come upon us in a big bang. It's a long challenging journey and sometimes it feels almost impossible as we are tempted back into the matrix of illusion. But as they say, once awoken, there's no going back. The journey seems to be made up of a series of illuminations that flicker on and off from experience to experience until we get the 'aha' and the light stays on. These illuminations allow us to see our path more clearly and encourage us to stay on course. And we are constantly asking ourselves the question - what has to happen for us to take one more step on the road to freedom? What on Earth will become of us?

As people all around the globe celebrate Earth day, we are drawn to consider these emerging values for a more harmonic life on Earth. This is no dream. This is what is naturally emerging in the face of global shifts. Power When the majority begins to realize that those our current leaders are not evolutionarily mature enough to hold the positions they think they merit, power will be divested to those people who are conscious enough to understand that leadership is a stewardship, a sacred assignment to be used only for the greater good. Leaders will be selected because their actions have shown them to be worthy stewards of all life on earth. Like this they will be able to direct efficiently and wisely the urgent process of returning to earth and rebuilding our world Love As the challenges of the current system begins to affect more and more people, human compassion will surface in the face of loss and sadness. As more and more people begin to vibrate love in the face of hatred, fear, and loss, Love will emerge as a dominant force. Knowledge As access to information becomes more widely available global consciousness is already expanding. The mankind will make more informed decisions and begin thinking and acting from our core with integrity and consideration for the greater good Action Action will increase as awakened people throughout the world step-up their efforts towards laying the foundations for a renewed, more harmonious and sustainable world. As a result of their pathfinder accomplishments, others will be inspired to awaken and take up the mantle of their own action. Cooperation As we find ourselves increasingly beset by severely challenging situations, the inner urge and need to band together with others and live in harmonic cooperation will emerge. People will desire and demand right human relationships as a natural way of life. Community spirit will revive as our lives become more localized. Simplicity When more and more systems falter or become uneconomically viable, people will be nudged to explore simpler more natural activities. We will find ourselves being nurtured by nature as we return to earthly pursuits such as camping. The more time we spend in simple pursuits such as sitting round a fire with others the quicker we will lose our addiction to passive diversions such as watching TV. We will learn to be more delighted by nature and people as we engage in wood gathering, camp fire cooking, conversation, laughter, dance, music making and storytelling. Persistence Persistence will emerge as a dominant human characteristic in the face of greater trials . This will be prompted by an increased awareness that time IS running out. More people will get that we must act now if we are to preserve the earth for future generations Creativity As the mankind experiences increasing shortfalls in the material supply system, the creative spirit will be activated to design and adopt alternative renewable energy sources, new ways of food culture, ecological shelter building, non pollutant transport, natural healing and intentional community structure. Organization will emerge harmonically to support and facilitate a symbiotic system as the mankind begins to let go of the need to control and dominate and recognize and accept his role as an integral part of all that is. EYE MYTHOLOGY In Egyptian mythology the Eye of Horus became an important symbol of power. Horus fought with Seth for the throne of Egypt. In this battle one of his eyes was injured and later it was healed by Hathor. This healing of the eye became a symbol of renewal. In Medieval and Renaissance Europe, the Eye (often with the addition of an enclosing triangle) was an explicit image of the Christian Trinity. A 1525 Jacopo Pontormo painting uses the Eye of Providence in a triangle as a symbol of the Christian Trinity In Vedic mythology the sun is referred to the `eye of the gods' or the ‘eye of the world’ Its gaze penetrates all it reaches. NLP EYE ACCESSING CUES Did you know that your eye movements give away the structure of your thoughts? Richard Bandler and John Grinder, creators of Neuro Linguistic Programming [NLP] discovered through extensive research that the direction a persons eyes move in indicates HOW a person is thinking. They could tell from where someone placed their eyes whether they were imagining a future or past event, internally re-hearing a sound or making up a sound, talking to themselves, or attending to their feelings. Eyes moving up and to their right indicates that they are creating a visual image Eyes moving up and to their left indicates that they are remembering a visual image. Eyes moving up frequently indicate the person is a visual thinker. If they are moving their eyes back and forth and looking up, they are probably visualising a 'movie' of images. If you want to get your message across, use visual words and in particular use images and diagrams. Eyes moving towards their right ear indicates they are constructing a sound Eyes moving towards their left ear indicates they are remembering a sound Eyes moving frequently towards the ears, left or right indicate a person is an auditory thinker. They may respond better to auditory explanations than visuals or diagrams Eyes looking down and to their right indicate that they are processing feelings. People who do this frequently may need time to process what you are saying and benefit from experiential ‘learning’. [all the above directions may be reversed in a left-hander] EYE CONTACT Eye contact often increases significantly when we are listening, and especially when we are paying close attention to what the other person is saying. Less eye contact is used when talking, particularly by people who are visual thinkers as they stare into the distance or upwards as they 'see' what they are talking about. POWER EYES When done without blinking, contracted pupils and an immobile face, eye contact can indicate domination, aggression and use of power. In such circumstances a staring competition can ensue, with the first person to look away admitting defeat. LIARS’ EYES Sometimes liars, knowing that low eye contact is a sign of lying, will over-compensate and look at you for a longer than usual period. Indigenous Rights of Responsibility

JFK reminded us to ask not what our country can do for us, but what we can do for our country. The indigenous peoples knew this instinctively in relation to the planet. They didn't look for what they could take but what they could do to safeguard the universe they lived in. The indigenous philosophy considers all actions in relation to how that action will affect the world 7 generations along. This is what we call having a 'greater than self' awareness and motivation in our way of living. The Bill of Rights, long revered by us all, actually has a destructive side as it perpetrates self importance and selfishness by focusing on the rights of the individual. What if we were to adopt a new bill? We propose we create a Bill of Responsibility The Bill of Responsibility would require us all to act not from a desire to get what is rightfully ours but from a desire to help ensure that all living things can flourish and play their part. It requires us to act from a 'beyond self' consideration at all times. It requires us to drop self importance in favour of the greater good. It requires us to share and care for all life in the same way we would care for own. It requires us to ensure that there is enough for all. In an indigenous tribe no one person is more valuable than another. No person hoards belongings or covets those of another. No one person is ever left without shelter, food,care, companionship and a feeling of belonging. The words 'mine, mine, mine and private, private, private are not a part of their sensibility. Contrast how our lives are today. The more we focus on our individual rights the more grasping and selfish we become. This is the thinking that has destroyed all so-called great civilisations and it will and already is destroying ours if we do not stop flying to dizzy heights of acquisition and come back down to earth. The more time we spend in communion with and awareness of Mother Earth,the more we begin to access the indigenous spirit that is in all of us as we walk more lightly on the earth, show more respect and awe for every living aspect as part of the fabric of our existence, not as a resource for our selfish needs. 2012 Consciousness

Harmonic Emergence Something magical is happening all over the world as what we label '2012 consciousness' begins to spread. This energy has been gaining momentum for many years. ALL YOU NEED IS LOVE The first major wave of awareness came for many in the sixties hippie flower power love and peace anti war movement. It was an early warning that left a massive imprint in all who were around at the time and in all the stories and music and words passed down through the generations. Throughoutht the sixties and seventies small groups of people were exploring the human potential movement and expanding their awareness seeding the energy out in small trickles. HARMONIC CONVERGENCE - A MILESTONE And then in August 1987 a series of Harmonic Convergence events took place at sacred locations all around the world. Harmonic Convergence was a major initiating surge of 2012 consciousness inspired by the book The Mayan Factor by Jose Arguelles. Harmonic Convergence was many things for many people, but fundamentally it was about people agreeing to come together and a sparking of awareness that change was necessary. It was a budding of mass consciousness. Interesting that this awareness should emerge during the Reagan and Thatcher grab grab grab, me, me, me consciousness. The paradigm was about raking in the most precious for the individual. It was a time of great plenty and a time of great greed. And when times are good we become complacent...but the message did not die... Throughout the 80's and 90's the roots of this consciousness were strengthening and evolving, emerging in the forms of all the new age, rainbow, alternative, spiritual movements that are on offer. THE FUTURE WARRIORS OF THE EARTH The message was also passed on in the genetic lineage of the children of the sixties flower children providing them with information and awarenesses to prepare them for the major part they will be called on to play as a new world emerges. TURBULENT TIMES We all know of the forces that are disturbing and threatening our very existence on this planet. We have all in some way contributed to it and we are all very aware of the changes we need to enact for this planet to survive... And there is BIG TIME HOPE... 2012 CONSCIOUSNESS - HARMONIC EMERGENCE Because in the next three years, we will be putting down a stronger set of roots, reaching deeper into the psyche of mankind evolving a strain that is stronger, more resistant, more aware and more adaptive and can survive and flourish no matter what brings us. This is the root that is becoming 2012 consciousness. As the world experiences turbulence, economically, societally and physically life is finding its way. COMPETITION DISSOLVES INTO COOPERATION What is emerging is a harmonic of what we call the Helian nation... [healing beings] the consciousness raisers of our times be they ecologists, alternative fuel technologists, lightworkers, yogis, eco-builders, intentional communities, the rainbow people, the shamanic teachers, herbalists, survivalists, you name it.. it's out there in some form or another... and it's POWERFUL. And what’s happening now as we move into these next vital three years is that all the diverse schools are dissolving competition and embracing cooperation. This is significant. OTHER CONSCIOUSNESS EXPANDS As we lose the 'me, my event, my work' consciousness and adopt an 'our, everyone's, collaborative tribal' consciousness so we are more able to merge... united in the one fundamental sense that drives us all. And that one fundamental driver is the recognition that our goal is not just the survival and flourishing of mankind, not just saving my community or family versus yours, not me or you...BUT the survival of we the people, all of us, one mankind and all life that is part of our system. The next three years will, we sense strongly, reveal a mass emergence from all over the world, from many schools of thought, from within all religions... of people banding together in service of a far greater goal than their own cause, method or way.... the survival of our planet for all generations of all life to come. Around the Fire

The Art of Transformation This piece was sent to us by a friend. It echoes so much of how we feel about community, gathering, fire and seasonal celebrations. Haven't you noticed how most once religious festivals like Christmas, Valentines and Easter are no longer celebrating the spiritual - the birth of Christ consciousness, love, and a resurrection of hope for this world. Instead they are commercially dominated dates which are all about spending money on stuff. Maybe Christmas should be renamed 'Stuffmas' as it no longer seems to have anything to do with the original sentiment. We're realizing more and more just how vital it is for us to begin to live more by the natural cycles of life which in the indigenous spirit were always cause for celebration and prayer. The solstices and equinoxes and full moons could be marvelous opportunities for gathering together in community and celebrating the simple events of 'life on earth' and all that sustains us. We hope you'll join us for the next New Moon on May 9th and 10th here on the GA/TN borders where we will be creating a community bonfire and inviting people to come celebrate the emergence of the new crops from the ground, with a promise of a bounteous future.. with love and blessings Sunny and Pierre Soleil from The Art of Transformation: Around the Fire by Morwen Two Feathers The fire flickered, flames leaping and undulating, blazing heat melting the surrounding snow. Overhead the swaying trees danced with the stars. A few feet from where we stood the river flowed, bearing silent witness in the frigid night. It was Winter Solstice, and nearly 200 intrepid people had hiked into the woods to celebrate the rebirth of the sun at the darkest time of year. Long ago, the collective life of the community was made coherent with celebrations like this. Attuning to nature's cycles and the cycles of human life, tribal cultures gathered regularly to sing, dance, play music, and tell stories. There was no "audience." Culture was not a spectator sport. Every member of the tribe, even babies bundled on their parent's backs, was a participant in creating the tribe's culture. Everyone with a body danced. Everyone with a voice sang. Somewhere along the line in western culture, this changed. Role differentiation is a hallmark of cultural development. As the division of labor proceeds in economics, so does it develop in the arts. Individuals specialize. Music, dance, drawing, storytelling, become something done by the few for the entertainment of the many. The role of audience is born. We can look around and see the resulting fragmentation of modern life. We can look inside and feel it. Entire industries are built upon the professionalization of art, the creation of audience which is also market. This can be observed in other areas of society as well: business, politics, and religion all have audiences in the form of consumers, citizens, and congregations. Celebrities and experts capture our attention and define our reality. Sometimes it seems we are spectators of our own lives. There is growing recognition that our culture is in need of healing, being made whole. And while I'm not suggesting that the answer to our cultural fragmentation is to stop patronizing the arts, I do think that one way we can begin to reconnect that which has become disconnected is to stop watching and participate together in singing, dancing, music-making, story-telling, and creating beauty. Standing around the bonfire singing with my neighbors, I felt part of a tribe. It didn't matter that some of the singing was off-key. The community is strong enough to hold all the voices. Now, as the waters rise with melting snow, the seed planted that Winter Solstice night is quickening. My roots in this community grow deeper. I'm looking forward to meeting you around the fire in the days to come" And we're looking forward to meeting you around a fire very soon... Emergence from the Matrix

Genetic Awakening "The lack of humility before nature that's being displayed here,... staggers me" Jeff Goldblum as Dr Ian Malcolm – Jurassic Park Jurassic Park was all about humans screwing with nature and the dire consequences of their actions. When we mess with nature, and by nature I mean all life on earth, it gives rise to extremophile evolutions and distortions. The earth itself is already displaying extremophile reactions. Witness the massively increasing number of tornados, hurricanes, volcanos, earthquakes typhoons, tsunamis and drought all over the world today and you get that the earth is doing whatever it takes to get back into balance. Ma, Mother Earth, Gaia is not happy that we have messed with her. She's our life support system. And we've not only messed with her, we've messed with ourselves big time. Life as we know it today, in the Big Machine, pressurises human nature into submission, compliance and conformity whilst snaring us into an addiction to material goods and the promise of the good life as defined by the media, the powermongers and purveyors of unnecessary stuff. When we try to harness, manipulate and control human nature we are suppressing the natural springs of potential in the same way an artifical dam holds back the water. Restraining human nature is unhealthy and sooner or later the dam will burst. Life will find a way. And when that happens, scary as it might be, we are beginning to purify ourselves so that we may emerge renewed, reborn, reawakened Each one of us comes into the world naked, innocent and pure. And each one of us is imprinted with our own unique genetic keycodes fashioned in our every cell, from physical material and the spirit of all our ancestors before us. And each one of us has the potential to manifest magnificently and uniquely in this world if we're allowed and encouraged to do so. And then we are exposed to life's events. And we can't always control the information or exposure that we receive. And we can't always control the skews that certain information or reactions to events leave on our psyche. And not everyone is genetically equipped to deal with life's many turbulences. Given our unique disposition and our genetices, life's harsh events will either result, at one extreme, in we the people emerging against the odds as the best we can naturally be or, at the other extreme, we will react to the pressure by turning in on ourselves or taking out our anger or fear on whoever is closest to us at the time. Those with strong dispositions and genetic materials that are designed to withstand the specific hardships we face, will flow with events, riding and often redirecting them to fashion something magnificent out of themselves. Whilst we will not all react in extremophile ways, we all find ourselves somewhere on the scale between experiencing the dark night of our imprisoned soul and dancing with the light-filled dawn of our free spirit. Most of us have been denied acces to our unique potential and handcuffed to what the ?Big Machine says is right and proper. And the Big M has different restrictions depending on the nature of the culture, all of which are designed to keep us in place Restriction might be anything from having to wear a uniform to being ordered to do or believe something that's alien to you. Restriction is felt when you are being taught in a way that doesn't suit or when a child is told to be quiet when he or she is bursting to share the secrets of his or her soul. Restriction is when you feel shame or inadequacy for not being or having enough to meet the standards THEY set up. You may feel the need to hide the truth about your past or buy stuff to show you're not broke because you fear that you will be judged inadequate. You may be restricted by being squashed into a career box that does not feed your soul. I am reminded of a Chinese doctor I met at a conference. Someone asked him if he loved his work and he said with a sad look on his face `Put it like this, in Chinese culture, Art is not a career option.' People are in pain everwhere because they're not being encouraged or shown how to unlock and follow their own genetically imprinted soul code. Instead they're acting according to programmed Machine code. Even as the Machine labours to retain more and more of us in `soul servitude' and spiritual darkness, there is a a counter current of information that suggests there is another way. The Internet has opened a door of potential, through widely available information and spiritual teachings in many different forms and varieties. It showcases innovative ideas about new ways of living, working, building, farming and transport. And there is also a prevalent meme that seeks to expose the truth about what's really going on and encourages us us to do the research and get informed about the workings of the Big M power structures. This information is supplied by people who by some chance of their own genetic make up have undergone experiences that caused them to wake up to reality a little earlier than most. Each of us is in a different stage of awakening and each of us has a responsibility to wake up those who are a step behind us just as we were awakened by those who trod the path before us. This 'waking up' is no longer the exclusive experience of lightworkers, shamans, healers. It is happening to everyone. As world economic chaos begins to rock the foundations of the Machine, the average Joe cannot help but open his sleepy eyes and notice the cracks in the dreamscape. Joe is a regular family guy, living in the suburbs, a salesman with a mortgage company, until one day he wakes up to find his company has gone out of business and he has no income. How is he going to pay for his home, the x-boxes and yoga lessons, cell phones, holidays, fancy clothes, dinners out… ? He's forced to take a very different kind of job, for much less money. He has to sell the precious precious. His wife weeps when they say goodbye to their boat. And slowly Joe and his family begin to detox. And at first he's pissed and then he notices how they are learning to make do in new and old ways. He begins to see how without the TV, the family sit in a circle and actually talk to each other. He begins to value eating home cooked vegetable soup and bread instead of going out to fancy three course dinners. And the more he lets go of his attachment to the glitz of the machine, the lighter he feels. And soon because he's emitting that vibe, quiet as it may be, he has a synchronous interaction with someone who's a little further on in the waking up game. And this someone plants the seeds in Joes' fertile awareness, sharing facts that make Joe shake his head and question everything he's ever known. Joe is at the first door of awareness seeing the light through the tiny opening. He finds himself at the computer typing into the search engine something that stayed with him, a word, a place, a movie. And one link leads to another in seeming random surfing until he is reading, seeing or listening to something that stops him in his tracks. And in that moment of `transcendence' he gets a sense that anything is possible. His soul keycodes have been catalysed into activation. And then he may try to dismiss it and force himself to continue the struggle to make things the way they were, attempting to rebuild his Machine existence but he can't. Once his unique genetic keycodes have been activated they cannot be dismissed, quietened or squashed. An awakened soul can never sleep again. One of the hardest thing of all to get is that when we begin this journey out of the Machine and into Reality, we will not be shown a master step by step plan. We will be required to take a leap of faith, held up only by our belief that we are doing the right thing. The more grounded and present we become the more we are able to tune into our instinctive KNOWING in the same way the indigenous people of this land just knew what to do next. We will feel the urge to act not knowing why just knowing that we must. If we could step up and look down on the huge pattern that is the WHOLE UNIVERSE, we would see exactly how our seemingly chaotic journey fits us perfectly into the swirl and as we find our place in the world, our energy begins to send out waves that can affect people many continents apart and many generations away. Return to Earth – Return to YOU More than JustCamping If you live or work in the city or even the suburbs you are assaulted daily by a choppy and incessant physical rhythm. Cars, people, emotions, thoughts, busyness, flashing lights, TV and a myriad of activities create a relentless discordant man made cacophony that deafens us to the sound of the rhythm of life. When you are far away from Ma, you aren't able to her the wind whispering in the trees long before it reaches you. You can't smell the approach of the deer. You don't see the light shining on the ripples of the mountain stream as it tumbles through the forest. You forget that you are part of something greater than you because you have been programmed to focus on clawing your way through the concrete jungle. Your natural creativity atrophies because you are surrounded by gadgets and gismos that do it all for you. There is no longer any requirement to innovate. And like someone whose limbs have not been used, your spirit atrophies. One of the most powerful ways to generate a connection to the universe and to facilitate the unlocking of our genetic keycodes is to spend time in the natural surroundings of woods and forests. Like this you will be infused with an energy that supports the emergence of your natural way of being, flowing and harmonising with the rhythm of life. When you are close to Ma, there is no discord, there is only harmony. As you plant each foot on the forest floor, you become more present. As you touch a tree you notice an infusion of energy. Catch the rays of sun falling onto the forest floor and find youreslf entranced by it's beauty. Watch and feel the wakening embers of the camp fire. Notice how more fully aware you are on all levels. You feel as if you have come home. And in a way YOU HAVE. Martin Luther King had a dream to set his people free and take them home to the promised land. He didn’t know HOW he only knew that the call was real and that he had no choice other than to follow his instincts. And he also knew that what he did would have an effect on the world for generations to come and it has. I too have a dream. I have had this dream since I was a child when I wrote a poem called ‘Does the Land have feeling?’. Ma [Mother Earth, Gaia, All-that is] has always spoken to me. I only felt at peace in her presence. And in my early years I spent much time in her loving arms. I am not a Native American, only in small part, but my exposure to the ways and philosophy from my early days has given me what I call the Native American spirit. This INDIGENOUS SPIRIT is present in all of us for deep down we are all earth children. In my late twenties, I was on my way to a meeting with a medicine woman in Nevada when I was diverted to Atlanta.. There began a long sojourn where I was mostly physically separated from Ma. But her spirit never left me. In the twenty years I spent in the asphalt jungle, I was plunged into the alien nation and came into contact with a world of what I call ‘lost children’. I met so many whose lives had no meaning because they could not fit into Machine. They knew something was wrong but they were emotionally, physically and spiritually lost. And in their unhappiness they were seeking answers they could not find in their everyday lives. There is a reason for all the experiences we have in life if we could only see the grand pattern of the universe we would get it. But ours is not to see the pattern, it is only to know that it is there and that OUR role in the universe will make itself known in sometimes huge and sometimes small but significant ways. Recently my dream has reawakened and I knew it was time to leave the asphalt jungle. My soujourn there was done and I was being drawn to move closer to the forest. I now know that Ma was calling me home again. And once there, I found myself driven to walk the trails, to uncover hidden pathways and places for people to gather and celebrate and commune with Ma. And each time I went out I found magical openings in the forest that were crying out for the mankind to walk gently and lovingly in their hallowed grounds as humans once did in the time of our indigenous ancestors. And awed by the wonder of these places we took photographs and displayed them online. I only knew that this felt like the right thing to do. And then a friend sent me a link to their house on Google Earth. I never got to see the house because I was drawn as if in a trance to follow the contours of the places I’d been exploring As I navigated the land through the miracle of my computer, I saw a huge green mass moving towards me. It was the backside of the Big Frog Mountain. And then I got it like a punch in the guts. Ma is calling me to gather people on the Big Frog. She is saying ‘I will save you when you return to me’. In 1987 I spoke on Mt Shasta at the Harmonic Convergence. A month earlier I had a transcendant experience of what the Indians call Rolling Thunder. It was an experience that was to change the very fabric of my being. It wasn’t a quick flash, it was a transformation at a cellular level. I knew that in some way I had to play an active part in restoring harmony, not just to nature but to all mankind. That was nearly 22 years ago. Today I see what I call the emergence of humans. It has been a tough road, but the numbers are ever increasing as people wake up to what has to happen for the earth to survive and to ensure the continuation not just of the mankind but of all living things. And there are many, like me, who have their dreams and receive guidance to follow a path. And all of us are playing our part, appealing with our wordsay and song to different people calling the lost children to come home just as we are bringing ourselves home. For we are all lost in some way and we are all seeking to find our way home. We are on this journey to manifest the wonder of our genetic keycodes and to play our part in harmonising and restoring balance to the Earth. My dream is to help the lost children find their place in the world by inviting them into close communion with Ma. And like all dreams the HOW’s are only revealed as we take the next step. My HOW is to call people into the woods, to gather on the backside of the Big Frog and take our lead from Ma. Ma is here to teach us that when we focus not on self, but on doing the right thing for the entire system, we will survive. Ma is here to help us find that which was lost and restore life to a natural harmonic balance. Time is running out and we must act now and follow our dreams. Feelings of the Land

Has Land Got Feeling? I have been on an earthly mission for most of my life. I have always known somehow that the land is precious. I spent my childhood years hanging out on the reservation, in the forests and mountains. I have lived in the forest many times over the years. My experience has shown me over and over that the earth is my natural home as it is for all of us. And NOW after spending twenty years in the asphalt jungle, I know that the time has come to go home to Ma – to Return to Earth. When I enter the woods I feel alive, I feel the healing energy, and I feel at one with the trees and the universe. And Ma talks to me through the trees and the wind and the water and the indigenous life, just as she talked to me when I was a young boy. She is talking to all of us if we only take the time to stop and listen She waits, patiently, through her pain, forgiving and all embracing inviting the mankind to venture out from the city machine and experience coming home to her. And the more you enjoy her natural bounty the more you begin to feel alive and the more you tune into the connection to all that is. And like that life is very different I wrote this when I was twelve years old Has Land Got Feeling? How do we know the land has no feeling? It may be screaming and hollering for help deep inside. We cover its surface with garbage and trash and we fill its air with smog and gas. How do we know the land has no feeling? We fill its waters with oil and waste and all kinds of muck. The Time is Now When we moved out here to the edge of the Cohutta wilderness we knew we were enacting the first stages of a vision , a dream of a better world through the emergence of an indigenous consciousness in the mankind leading to a simpler more earth-bound way of living. Sounds grand, but like all visions they begin with getting off our backsides and just doing stuff, sometimes not even knowing why, just because it feels right. We felt the calling to go hang out in the forests on the back of the Big Frog Mountain. As we began scouting the area, we realised that we had found a host of treasured enclaves that would be perfect for people to gather, commune and above all experience the healing powers of Ma [Mother Earth]. The indigenous consciousness is about respecting and revering the Earth as we would a loved one or family member or close friend. It is about getting the symbiotic harmony that is required for a forest to function and be abundant and healthy. It is about treading lightly on the earth and taking from her only as much as we need. One of my mentors once said to me `never try to fight the system, only insinuate gently into it'. We acknowledge that right now we are in midst of dark times..and on the edge of massive change It's as if two huge powers are groaning and screaming in pain each trying to assert its presence. The big Machine, as we call it, is thrashing around in its death throes, but it isn't giving up easily. It has a strong sense of preservation and it's clawing in whatever it can, doing whatever is necessary to keep the people docile and subservient, restricting us in so many tiny ways. And all over the world the drive to industrialise and modernise is drowning Mother earth in its residue. And if she could be she would be pissed. Instead she acts only to restore balance where it is out of whack.. Mother Earth is literally kicking up a storm . She reacts to the disturbances of many by generating Tornados, Hurricanes, Earthquakes, Tsunamis and global warming. It's as if she's just eaten too much garbage, waste chemicals and she's lost her angels, the trees. And mark my words, she will do what it takes to restore an existence where there is harmony amongst ALL life, not just humans. And still in her pain she is there for us if we know how to embrace her. And by taking advantage of her bounty, we can benefit from her healing presence and reciprocally help to heal her. Humans in the forest are part of the symbiotic process. Without them the deadwood doesn't get cleared, thickets overgrow and young saplings take up valuable resources from the older trees which do all the real work. And as you probably already know, the more time you spend immersed in her presence, the more whole and alive you feel. We were drawn to these hallowed groves on the back of the Big Frog Mountain, because it offers so many different spaces and hidden enclaves, all close to creeks and streams . It is a place where people can gather and experience the earth and her bounty and life can return to the forests in a new way. Which is more valuable? When all the trees have been cut down, when all the animals have been hunted, when all the waters are polluted, when all the air is unsafe to breathe, only then will you discover you cannot eat money. ~ Cree Prophecy ~ It has been many moons since the mankind had the common sense to recognise and revere the value of one of the most powerful examples of life on earth’s many miracles – the trees and the forests Instead we hover and slaver Gollum-like over our ‘precious’ gold. We worship at the altar of ‘stuff’ and we covet, hoard, betray and go to war to protect our stuff and get more stuff. So there you are in your penthouse apartment with gold taps, a gold card in your pocket and chains of gold around your neck. You think you’re rich? Exactly how rich are you when food you could buy is too toxic to eat , the water you want to drink is full of deathly chemicals and the air you try to breathe is so polluted you are deprived of oxygen. Would you not surrender all of that for a sip of fresh spring water, a pot of fresh vegetables and a breath of air? FACT! The total amount of rainforest left on the planet is about the size of the USA and every year an area the size of Florida is cut down and permanently destroyed. The time will come when the ability to live a more simple earth based life will be are more valuable than all the stuff in the world. The trees and the forest and the sun and the water will give us all we need if we begin now to Return to Earth. FACT! the United States is spending between $97 and $215 billion dollars annually on military action to defend access to oil and natural gas reserves around the globe. The war has cost us so far around $650 billion dollars We are running out of money. Our budget deficit is over 8 trillion dollars. Soon we won't be able to afford fuel, let alone protect access to it. It's time for some turn-around trade off thinking. If the fuel protecting war money were used otherwise, how many homes could be equipped with the necessary solar equipment to make them fuel independent ? How many earth lodges, straw bale dwellings and cob houses could be built and how many people could they house? How many food farms could be set up and how many people could they feed? 650 billion dollars could When we finally get that the only stuff we will really need is a good set of tools and the know how to live symbiotically with the earth we will be truly rich. When we are growing our own food, using renewable energy to be totally fuel-self sufficient and sharing our land with others or living on shared or public land, there will be enough for all and there will be no need for war. The time is H.E.R.E. to discard our weapons of war and take up arms to save the earth because she is OUR salvation. When chips are down and we can't buy a packet of chips for all the gold in the world, mother earth can feed you, clothe you, keep you warm and heal you. THE 8 LEVELS OF HUMAN EMERGENCE Life’s learning mechanism is such that as the world around us changes we evolve new bio-psycho-social coping systems. Clare Graves, a research psychologist, mapped the structure of the evolution of human emergence from the time of primitive man into a future beyond his own death. Not only did he explain how we got where we are today, but he offered a logical futuristic look at what will come next. Graves was no Nostradamus. The ‘predictions’ in the model are not about what will happen but what’s the next logical shift in emergent human coping systems given where we are right now. Harmonic Emergence is what is happening as people evolve through the 3 latter levels of bio-psycho-social shifts that Graves outlined. Here’s a brief lowdown on theGraves’s model and how it can help us understand our current situation and what has to happen for us to truly evolve and emerge into Global Harmony. Level 1 – Survival Once upon a time the earth was populated by primitive man struggling on his own with his mate against the elements on a quest to find, sustenance and shelter, scavenging like wild animals to merely survive. Everyone else was a predator, a competitor or an enemy. There are still people on this earth who are surviving with this level of coping strategy and some of them are living right here on our streets. Level 2 – Ritualistic tribal societies Level 2 of emergence sees our primitive man, motivated by a desire for security and safety, emerging from a solo existence to banding together with others in an interdependent way. At this level there is a fear of the sacred, spirits, things that are inexplicable and in shared ritual the fears are allayed. The individual contributes his or her skills to the group and feels safe knowing that others will pick him up when he falls, and vice versa. It is the forming of basic tribe, sharing everything as we learn to trust. Level 3 – Rebellion and Me Me Me Level 3 of emergence is where caring and sharing breaks down where the individuals rise up and question the laws of the tribe or the rules of the family. That individual develops their own identity apart from the tribe and becomes more egotistical, competitive and self centered seeking instant gratification, stuff, land, oil fields. It is the beginning of the ‘private private private’ ‘me me me’ culture. Level 3 is the culture of ‘greed war’ motivated by a desire to control people and or resources. World War 2 was Hitler’s Greed War. The Iraq War is ours. The level that emerges next, Level 4, is as are all levels of the model, a ‘knock-on’ effect from the previous stage. At Level 4, people band together once again to protect themselves from the rampages of the rape, pillage and greed of Level 3. Level 4 – Rules, Regulations and Righteousness Thus we witness the emergence of a ‘rule bound society’ where right and wrong appear crystal clear, the law is respected, extreme levels of behavior are suppressed and frowned upon and people live a structured routine life in their desire to maintain ‘order’ and ‘rightness’. And as it continues order slowly evolves into restriction and rightness becomes righteousness. This was the kind of psycho-social culture that existed here in America and the UK immediately after World War 2 from the fifties onwards. Level 5 – Gordon Gecko Grab it all As the individual begins to feel more bound and limited by the rules and regulations we see the devleopment of material ambition and entrepreneurship. This emergence often occurs from a situation of abundance where resources are rich,the living is easy and it seems as if the world is there for the taking as long as we are crafty, clever and ambitious enough to get to the party early. This is epitomized in the Reagan/Thatcher era with their ‘free markets’ ‘self motivation’ and survival of the sharpest. Capitalism was [and still is] the religion, profit is the Promised Land and bankers and lawyers are the holy men. And we are overstuffed with greed, extravagance and workaholism and a technology fest of ‘toys’ and ‘gadgets’ where status takes precedent to utility. And this is for the most part the prevalent paradigm that dominates the US today. But there is hope… Level 6 – Caring Kindness My Way As more and more people start to get that their own riches don’t make them feel any better about world poverty, hunger, poor education and extortionate or non existent health care a more ‘other’ based caring consciousness emerges. This way of thinking slipped in as an anomaly in the hippie era, but sank back into obscurity as it was overtaken by Level 5 More for Me Capitalism As we move into a Level 6 consciousness, we notice what devastation we have created in our greed, destroying the natural bounty of the earth. Oceans are polluted from chemical wastes. Food has become toxic from irradiation, chemical fertilizers and genetic modification. The air we breathe is filthy and the water more polluted because we have cut down all our trees. And in our shame we get that we must give back some of what we have taken and so profited from. Level 6 thinking is what gives birth to free medical clinics, food programs and the ‘green’ movement. The values are more other considerate and spiritually based. Social responsibility is embraced with almost religious fervor as people rush to start groups, volunteer, give to charity, promote worthy causes, send out petitions and recycle plastic bottles. We band together with others in internet social groupings such as Tribe..net and ‘tut-tut’ over films like An Inconvenient Truth, There is a revival in in alternative therapies and spiritual movements. And somewhere in all this ‘peace and love’ we get a little lost.. At it’s unhealthiest the level 6 mentality deteriorates into preciousness about ‘my personal cause’ tendency towards a ‘them’ and ‘us’ mentality with those who don’t join their groups or are not as politically correct as they deem proper. This is the level of consciousness that has been building in small pockets around the USA. And even as it expands, something else is cooking behind the scenes. Level 7 – The New Spiritual Warrior This very different kind of consciousness is based not on a rejection of the previous paradigms, but on recognition of each level of development as a part of a vital puzzle for saving the world. It is at this level that the human is able to generate new thinking and radically different ways of living Level 7 consciousnesses is emerging in tiny pockets from the current world of chaos where resources so abundant at Level 5 and 6 are rapidly depleting and despite well meaning efforts, there has been an increase in poverty and depravation as we continue to rob from the poor to pay the rich and blatantly destroy the earth that harbors us... A need to right the imbalances in the current system is coupled with a strong integrity whereby someone at this level would rather go without than compromise or remain silent when they must speak out. Level 7 consciousness is apparent in those brave individuals who right now are daring to expose the horrendous machinations behind the scenes of corrupt political power through films like Zeitgeist and Loose Change. Through the appreciation of how technology interacts, the ability to hold different viewpoints and see the relationship between unrelated concepts and a fearlessness in approach to the world and it’s challenges The level 7 consciousness is driven to seek unique and unusual global answers to the problems of our time Thus emerges a breed of individual thinking globally aware spiritual warriors, who will lead the way in these troubled times. History tells us that today's whacko's are often tomorrows spiritual warriors. Level 8 – Peaceful, Free Flowing Global Community These pioneering, innovative, warriors show us new ways of bringing all mankind together in truly global community where there are no boundaries and the land belongs to the people and we are free to roam our planet, treading lightly on her as we enter into a brave new world. Some say the world will end on Dec 21st 2012? They believe that we, the race of humans will be devestated, wiped out, destroyed by what some call Armageddon, the Apocalypse or Doomsday? Some say only a few survivors remain to rebuild the world in a radically new way returning to simple earth living creating community based on indigenous ways What if we take this impending sense of destruction as a WARNING? We don't need the end of the Mayan Calendar to tell us that if we continue to live in our consume and destroy, use and abuse way we're headed for some kind of Doomsday scenario. Can we slam on our brakes, change course to evade it or stop it in its tracks? I think we can. BUT only if we begin now to rapidly accelerate our efforts to regenerate and reshape the nature of the way we live. And that doesn't mean recycling your bottles and switching off more lights and giving a homeless person a buck. I'm talking radical, back to nature, devoid of stuff living. I'm talking about returning to earth and living on, from and with the land and I'm talking about people learning to share way beyond anything they've been taught is 'good and proper'. Is it possible that we the people can actively live with concern for other and the collective planet race beyond self? Can we radically slice off, dissolve, and amputate centuries old and now unuseful beliefs, rules and systems that have been installed into us and which have been the very cause of the mess we're in now? All the so-called great civilisations through the Sumerians, Mesopotanians, the Greeks and the Romans destroyed themselves through greed, mismanagement and a pyramid power structure where the people at the bottom hold up the people at the top until they could no longer do so and the entire thing fell to the ground. Most of us, myself included, grew up in the Alien-nation where we learned to put ourselves first, to withold and safeguard what is ours. We learned to lock doors, put up fences and display signs that said 'Private, Private, Private, Mine, Mine, Mine'. We hold onto our stuff like a baby blanket; we struggle to accumulate more of it, and we're terrified someone is going to take it away. We just don't get that the more we strive to hold onto our 'precious' those very fences, barriers and signs we put up to keep our stuff safe, prevents and deters others from getting close enough to us to share what is theirs. We isolate ourselves and miss out on the greatest gifts of all... connection with another The Sun Bushmen - an indigenous tribe from the Kalahari Desert live in a very different way. For a man to eat in front of another without offering to share his food is as disgusting to their culture as spitting in someone's food is to ours. In other words it is the height of manners to share food. Most of the indigenous peoples have similar customs, living for the good of the whole before that of the individual. As the big Machine generates more can'ts than can's and as the food, water, transport and money systems begin to crumble and as we are hypno-tranced to blame it all on the 'enemy' FEAR becomes our constant companion. How long can we keep this up? What would happen if we let go and let others in, fully believing that we will all be taken care of. And I know it's not easy for any of us. Take these two scenarios How it is now A person loses his or her home. He sleeps for a few nights on a friends' sofa then friend gets pissed cos he uses too much soap or watches soaps and he's out on the street. He spends a night at a hostel and the next night it's full. He slowly wanders towards dirty slab of pavement outside the vent from a laundromat. Retrieving an old cardboard box from the dumpster he tears it up and he lays down on his piece of cardboard. If it rains he gets wet. He doesn't know where his next meal is coming from. As he lies there in fitful half sleep, shivering, people step over or around him as he sleeps and wish he would just disappear because he's just oh so much of an eyesore. How it can be A person loses his home. He goes to the local 'happy homes for all' bulletin board. He sees that a local couple are offering to share some of their land. They have half an acre suitable to house a small RV or a tent. They make water available. They feed him while he gets on his feet and he begins to help out around the yard. He might empty the trash, till a piece of land or help with fetching and carrying. He feels as if this is his home and he begins to treat it as such. And through the love of others he learns to let go of bitterness and begins to celebrate the feeling of being loved and becomes more loving. This is not rocket science!! SHARE YOUR LAND - GET PAID TO DO IT I live in a rural area in the South and as I drive by the homes and houses I see the land and I envison a small space in each patch of land that is set up for one or more RV, kitted out with a Sewage/Power hookup. I see each home with a 'stranger dock' freely offered to someone who needs a place to rest his weary soul on for a day a week or even a lifetime. Is that derelict house on your land an eyesore? Likely you can't sell it and you can't afford to renovate it. What if you offered it to someone on the understanding that they would fix it up and take care of the land around it? Do you really need all that room in your back yard? Would you trade your bed of flowers to offer someone a chance to live more decently? GOVERNMENT GRANTS FOR NEIGHBORLY ACTS?? I see government grants for installing this facility available to anyone who is willing to share their land in this way. I see government grants for the building of a cob homes offered to anyone who is willing to create this space for another. FOREST HOMESTEADING And what if the forests had a lot more areas set aside as long term ecological camping sites, and people were educated in how to live in harmony with the land. Like this the human can once again play their symbiotic part in the healthy ecological process, as did the idigenous people before us, to maintain our mother so that she may provide life for we her children What other practical workable ideas can we come up with BEFORE IT'S TOO LATE? H.E.R.E. The First Happening

Life is full of surprises and some more delightful than others. A couple of weeks ago we posted on the Welcomehere site asking for people to come help us clear the hidden groves we'd discovered on our scouting trips into the Cohutta Wilderness area. One young lad responded and when we talked to him,we got that, despite our age differences, he was just like us - a forest spirit. Forest spirits feel most at home in the woods communing with the earth and experiencing the heightened awareness that being in nature gives us. So, you can imagine our excitement when we posted a last minute notice for a pot-luck gathering and our young friend turned up with three equally delightful and earth spirited companions. A friend of ours also came along to hang out and our first pot luck gathering was completed with 7 humans, 1 puppy and 2 dogs. And so it is... the beginning of what we hope is a gradual shift to bring people into the forest and bring back the life and energy that was once so prevalent when it was teeming with the Native American indigenous inhabitants. As we sat round the fire, laughing and talking, I asked the question I love to ask. 'What are you good at?' I realised that in this small circle we had the makings of a self sufficient tribe. One guy was a carpenter, young but wise beyond his years - the other was into making wine, building primitive bows and arrows and just totally in love with all aspects of the forest. One of the girls was great at fishing and a real go for it worker. The other took her place as the camp keeper and fire tender but beyond this she had an uncanny fascination with creating something out of nothing using only what could be found in the forest. She and I got creative with hot rocks and bedwarmers. The final member of the group was an inventor who is also an ace scavenger. And each of us shared a deep passion for woodland life. Maybe one day we'll see our forests populated, as they once were, with people who get that it really is time for us all to return to earth and experience our own personal harmonic emergence from the Big Machine. sunwaterclear http://harmonicemergence.org/
