"The most merciful thing in the world, I think, is the inability of the human mind to correlate all its contents... some day the piecing together of dissociated knowledge will open up such terrifying vistas of reality, and of our frightful position therein, that we shall either go mad from the revelation or flee from the light into the peace and safety of a new Dark Age."
H.P. Lovecraft 1926

about me
no matter where you dig on this page you will little more than scratch the surface of me.

I am a child of Connachta...

“The Province of Connachta is partly defined by comparison with Leinster. The stereotypes proclaim that Leinster is fertile and Connachta barren. Leinster’s sunshine is contrasted with Connachta’s cloud and heavy rain, her riches with Connachta’s poverty…Leinster stands for the triumph of newcomers, whereas Connacht is traditionally the last refuge of the defeated. The wisdom of Connachta, like that of King Lear, comes partly with the loss of power…and offers insight in extremis.
“The Irish word for West is Iar, which also means ‘the end, every extremity, everything last, after, backwards, blank and dusky’ – in short the opposite qualities of East. Iar spreads into iarsma, ‘after-effects, remainder, remnant’, iartharach, ‘furthermost’, and iartestimin, ‘conclusion of a period’. Western time and space combine in iartaige ‘unhappy consequence’ ” …from Mythic Ireland by Michael Dames. P.152

...and do too often partake in its nature I feel. I am an Archaeopagan, choosing to follow the path that I always had before I knew its name. Archaeopagan to me means following and reclaiming traditions and their core concepts and values rather than merely adding cultural concepts on top of modern Western/American core values.

I have been involved in intensive personal and formal study of comparative myth & religion, the Occult, and Celtic History, Mythology, and Traditional Culture for well over a decade. I have also studied clinical psychology, theology, ethnobotany, pharmacology and neurochemistry. I love the wholistic field and helping people regain health and take control of their lives through natural means and reconnecting with nature and I consider my profession an Art, a Talent, and a Calling - it is the Craft of Airmid, the patron Goddess of herbalism ad herbal magick. I also have interested in the complimentary Craft of Miach, the psychospiritual aspects of integrative treatment...what might today be referred to (somewhat inaccurately) as shamanism.

"So flashed and fell the brand Excalibur: But ere he dipt the surface, rose an arm / Clothed in white samite, mystic, wonderful, / And caught him by the hilt, and brandished him / Three times, and drew him under in the mere."

March laurels...the smell of spring wood in the drizzle is so different from that of fall, richness, freshness, immanence. These were ancient laurels maybe 80years old or more and when the owner had the woods coppiced they drove a buldozer right over them

"We must learn to distinguish what *is*, from what *seems to be*, and what *we wish to be*. For we cannot cope with the challenge unless we know its truth. ... We cannot effect change in ourselves or our world unless we know what it truly is that we are affecting. He who knows not what is will fight only shadows and illusions ... they that know not what *is* will vainly try to change that which *appears to be* and is but shadow and illusion."
