My inlaws had a German Shepherd named "Tex"--naturally, they lived in Dallas. He was the kindest, gentlest dog I ever knew. When our kids were young, they loved to play with him when we visited Beverly's parents. The kids would pull on his ears...

Okay, we've had seems like hundreds of debates, poll leaders changing every time a cat sneezes and are FINALLY into the primaries. How much of this crap is too much already? The GOP seems determined to make it as hard as possible for any sane human to vote for one of their candidates. Romney will be the candidate, of course, there is really no other choice since he is the only half-way sane possibility, but this hasn't sat well with the party who seem determined to hold out for a lunatic. ...

With the Winter Solstice coming up soon and the Christian celebration of Christmas (even though December 25 could not possibly the correct day), I feel it is time to offer a blog post on the birth of the Messiah, both for those who believe he has already visited this planet once and for those who believe he has yet to appear.

it's been me bothering more and more lately. What has happened to the Republican party? Have they gone completely and collectively insane? A wise man (Otto von Bismark) once said that,"Politics is the art of the possible." In the hands of the Republican party these days, it seems to have become, "Politics is the art of making everything impossible." I protest that this rigid adherence to party dogma does not serve the voters or the public. Recently Newt Gingrich told us that the publi...

"But be doers of the word and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves. For if anyone is a hearer of the word and not a doer, he is like a man observing his natural face in a mirror: For he observes himself, goes away, and immediately forgets what kind of man he was. But he who looks into the perfect law of liberty and continues in it, and is not a forgetful hearer, but a doer of the work, this one ... read more
More and more of late, I have grown more and more fascinated by one of the tales from the Book of Genesis; the story of Jacob's wrestling with God one night by the River Jabbok.

From Chapter 32 of Genesis: v. 22 And he arose that night and took his two wives, his two maidservants, and his eleven sons, and crossed over the ford of Jabbok. v. 24 Then Jacob was left alone, and a Man wrestled with him until the breaking of day. v.25 Now when He saw that He did not prevail against him, ... read more

This man, is capable of so much. There is more to him than meets the eye. I am fortunate to be able to call him friend. His mind remains open and his friends are never judged. I count on his balanced influence to keep my perspectives on the topics that are discussed. He is wise, openhearted, kind and considerate. Patience and understanding, are his top virtues. Hugs and Love!
Brightest Blessings Lynn
