There has been a huge public outcry against the RIAA’s attempts to more than triple the sound recording copyright royalties on Internet radio. (See www.dailykos.com/storyonly...74145/144)

One solution proposed by Webcasters is to just not play RIAA-member songs under the assumption that then they don’t have to pay the royalty to the RIAA’s collection body, SoundExchange. Then the Webcasters would then just pay the independent artist the royalty.

Independent voices will be silenced by big corporations---listeners will have fewer choices, the artists won’t get any more money for the creativity, and the corporations will gain more money and control if the record label’s royalty increase is allowed to stand. Please help stop it.

Today is the ninth anniversary of my first radio show. Back then I called it "World Revolutions" and I was on KALA radio.
