Okay... I have been meaning to do this for a while... What is there not to love about someone who is a kindred spirit? (And if you take even just a few minutes to read the blogs and captions on the photos, you too will feel this way I'm sure...) Witty, quick, decidedly different... She has a fresh perspective on life... Smart and driven to succeed, and with such a graceful and positive outlook on life, you know that she will go far... She's courageous, just look at where she is going to school... And willing to try new things... Though I am certain all we see is the tip of the iceberg, the more that is revealed, the more you too will become just as certain that this is a fabulously wonderful person you want to be around more... She'll share in the adventure, even if it just via a blog... And she'll be delightfully evil and do things like suggest kiwi juice and Oreos dipped into peanut butter... (Which I had to try tonight... And trust her recommendation, they are that good...)

There is somethiing about the word testimontial I dont' like. I think its because it derives from the root "testimonio" which in Latin and Italian (Latin's closest relative) means "will" as in "testament." Hence, a connotation of finality and -- well, being said posthumously. This seems wrong to me, because Alexandra is a work in progress. A person with amazaing talents -- beauty, intelligence, wit - who is sorting out who she is and what she does. Her greatest gift is also her greatest challenge ... figuring out what to do with all her abilities. She has the gift of using language like Michelangelo used his brush, she dances, choreographs, directs, sings, flys helicopters, is funny, clever and very singular in her worldview. She doesn't always do what pleases her family ... there have been times when it seems she deliberately set out to do exactly what wouldn't please them .. but her love for them and they for her has won out (but that's not to say I don't expect more surprises and challenges). My testimonial is this: Ali is a work in progress, and I look forward to seeing the saga unfold.
