En un comunicado, la Presidencia de la República informó que el día de ayer al realizar su rutina de ejercicio matutino, Calderón Hinojosa tuvo un accidente en bicicleta debido al suelo húmedo y resbaloso del lugar, donde habitualmente realiza esta práctica. Después de este percance, el presidente fue atendido y examinado en las instalaciones del Centro Hospitalario del Estado Mayor Presidencial, donde se le diagnosticó una fractura de la cabeza del húmero (hombro) izquierdo, así como una contusión en la rodilla izquierda.

Los amantes de la astronomía -siempre y cuando se encontraran en el lugar indicado- pudieron disfrutar este viernes de un eclipse total de Sol, cuando la Luna se interpuso entre la estrella y nuestro planeta. Este fenómeno único hace que el Sol se vea como un aro de luz con el centro totalmente oscurecido por la sombra de la Tierra. El eclipse comenzó en el ártico canadiense aproximadamente a las 9:45 GMT. La sombra se desplazó describiendo un arco por Groenlandia, Siberia occidental y Mongolia para terminar en el centro de China, más de una hora y media después. Su recorrido total fue de 10.200 kilómetros. Gran parte de Europa, Asia y el norte de América del Norte pudieron observar un eclipse parcial. El recorrido del eclipse es de 10.200 Km. Gafas para observar un eclipse Para observar un eclipse es fundamental protegerse con gafas especiales. Sin embargo, no suceden cada vez que hay luna nueva. La órbita lunar está levemente inclinada hacia la de nuestro planeta, por esta razón, la mayoría de las veces la sombra de la Luna no se proyecta sobre la Tierra. La sombra de la Luna puede dividirse en dos partes: una interior y otra exterior (penumbra). La gente que se encuentra en la zona donde cae la sombra interior podrá disfrutar de un eclipse total, mientras que los que se hallan en la zona de la penumbra podrán ver un eclipse parcial. Los científicos recordaron al público que no debía mirar directamente al Sol -incluso en el caso de un eclipse parcial- sin protección, ya que esto puede dañar la retina de forma permanente. Sólo debe mirarse a la estrella con la ayuda de un telescopio solar o gafas especiales.

Buddha Boy said the main reason for his disappearance was the crowd and the noise pollution. He said that he will be back after six years of meditation, with peace in Nepal. He is not afraid of any kind of wild animal and rebellion party in Nepal. Buddha Boy states no harm should come to the people, although there is Civil War between the Royal Nepalese Army and the Maoist of Nepal. He was found wearing the same clothes from when he disappeared. While he stood under a tree and he was smiling during his conversation with the people who found him. He came back looking very healthy and strong, whereas before his departure he looked very thin and weak. The president of the local conservation committee said he has video footage of Buddha Boy's return and he is willing to show this footage if it is necessary. In the video Buddha Boy says, he went quite far away but he returned to let everyone know that he is alright and would come back after completion of his meditation. CCTV's new 550,000 square meter headquarters, to be completed for the Beijing Olympics in 2008, will be among the first of 300 towers to be constructed in Beijing's new Central Business District. As part of an international architectural competition organized by the Beijing International Tendering Co., the Office for Metropolitan Architecture (OMA) was awarded the contract on December 20, 2002. On the 10-hectare site in the new Central Business District in Beijing, the OMA proposal consolidates the program in an iconic configuration of two high-rise buildings. The new CCTV headquarters, at a height of 230 meter and a floor area of about 400,000 square meters, combines administration with news, broadcasting, studios and program production - the entire process of TV making - in a sequence of interconnected activities. Although the building is 230 meter tall it is not a traditional tower, but a continuous loop of horizontal and vertical sections that establish an urban site rather than point to the sky. The irregular grid on the building's facades is an expression of the forces traveling throughout its structure. The second building, the 115,000 m2 Television Cultural Center (TVCC) includes a hotel, a visitor's center, a large public theatre and exhibition spaces. It is visible from the main intersection of the Central Business District through the "window" of the CCTV headquarters. A Media Park forms a landscape of public entertainment, outdoor filming areas and production studios as an extension of the central green axis of the CBD. Rem Koolhaas and Ole Scheeren will be partners-in-charge. The OMA design team will consist of Shohei Shigematsu, Adrianne Fisher, Hiromasa Shirai, Anu Leinonen, Charles Berman and many others. Qingyun Ma from Shanghai will be advisor to the project. The CCTV Headquarters will be realized in collaboration with ECADI, the East China Architecture & Design Institute from Shanghai. With his 3rd studio album the German producer Mark Petrick presents 10 ambitious trance songs packed into an elaborate concept critically reflecting current, past and future world events. During his 10 year career he has achieved to incorporate many different music styles into his productions crossing the gaps between psychedelic trance, electro/goth and industrial/metal. "Demagoguery of the Obscurants" represents the culmination of this sonic research with its meticulous sound design, punchy kicks, driving basslines and movie soundtrack-like atmospheres. The heavyness of track 1 and 4 is intensified by fast aggressive guitars and track 2,4,5 and 7 comprise distorted vocals to support the message of the album. He also completed the Seven Summits in September 2002. His story was covered in a Time article in June 2001 titled Blind Faith. He is author of Touch the Top of the World: A Blind Man's Journey to Climb Farther Than the Eye can See, his autobiography. Erik is an acrobatic skydiver, long distance biker, marathon runner, skier, mountaineer, ice climber, and rock climber. He is a friend of Sabriye Tenberken and Paul Kronenberg, the co-founders of Braille Without Borders, whom he visited in Tibet to climb with them and teenagers from the school for the blind. A documentary film based on the project was released in 2006: Blindsight (2006 film) .
