My Testimonials

June 19, 2007
Christa is an amazing woman. She has built a large hooping community in her local area but, more than that, she has helped faciliate a world-wide hoop community! In addition to facilitating the Hula Hooping Tribe, she has made tons of instructional videos and offered them for free, via the web, helping hoopers around the globe. From Lebanon to Manila to Scotland, from small towns to big towns to cities, new hoopers all over this lovely floating rock watch and learn from her. She has touched so many lives. Because of her, there are more happy, healthy people in this world. I am so grateful for that. She builds community and makes the world a better place.

Christa also has a lovely way about her. She is strong yet diplomatic, powerful yet caring, kind, empathetic, smart, articulate, accomplished and professional. I think she's the cat's pajamas and I'm so glad she's on the planet. The world is a better place for her being in it.

Hugs to you Lovely. You are a blessing.

Xta took a chance with someone like me, and for that she will always be my friend. It takes courage and an open mind to see the good side of people who, at first, my not fit into a personal vision of what would be considered a valuable friendship. people like Xta are few and far between, and when I find one I tend to hang on to them. eli.

about me
Big and strong yet dainty and delicate... Outgoing but shy... Playful.. yeah, just lots of playful :) Generally happy, serious when I need to be, laughing whenever possible, dancing to the music whether it is broadcast, on my headphones, or just in my head... Oh, and a total touch junkie, hands must be kept occupied! (usually that means knitting, but friends comfy with being touched/rubbed/scritched/linked.. will be :)

Re: Slow Hoop Dancing to "Please Don't Go" by Barcelona (in Hooping Videos) Beautiful! What a wonderful style - I loved that it was all hand-contact, without actually spinning the hoop, and that the size of the hoop made such a perfect frame for your graceful movements!

Thanks for sharing :)

Re: I think you've discovered a 4-Beat Weave (in Hooping Videos) Hmm... I'm counting five beats, by looking at one side of the body and counting each time a hoop points at the floor.

Re: New WEDNESDAY circus joins the weekly lineup! (in Vancouver Hoopers) I assume that other people went.. I'm trying to get over my cold, so I went home after class. I tend to update my Facebook about whether I go to these or not - ChristaGiles if you want to find me on there, or join the Saturday Circus group.

Re: It's a lot like riding a bicycle ............... (in Vancouver Hoopers) What if it IS riding a bicycle? I've got an amazing hoop rack for my newly-extended bike now.. hooping and cycling get even more entwined...

My Blog

I had an awesome weekend at the Roundhouse. Once again, the Vancouver International Jazz Festival hosted free jazz at David Lam Park in downtown Vancouver, and I was there for most of the acts (and all of the hot, hot sun, my goodness!)

Twenty one hoops went down, and seventeen made it back in one piece! The cheap kiddie hoop that I'd picked up at a toy store proved its non-worthiness by being the only hoop to kink (though hand-hooping with something shaped like a leaf was entertaining) - ... read more
