Blah Blah Blah......

Hillary in Tucson. My little report.

   Sun, February 3, 2008 - 10:07 AM
I saw Hillary last night! Whoo hoo! Along with a lot of other people. Good times. This was the second time I saw Senator Clinton speak in about two weeks. I saw her in Laveen (outside Phoenix) on 1-22 and she was at the University of Arizona campus yesterday.

Both times were just amazing. It is really hard to feel like you are surrounded by like-minded people out here in the desert. Sure, I live in the blue part of a red state, but there are PLENTY of Republicans and a LOT of Libertarians and they seem to have the loudest, most obnoxious voices. Can't help but hear them. And those Ron Paul supporters, ugh, they are everywhere out here. Talk about annoying.

Okay, anyway. Hillary. First thing, let me tell you she looks fantastic. It's like someone sculpted those cheekbones on her face to form perfect little protruding apples. And yesterday she brought Chelsea!!! Chelsea looked beautiful and confident. I can't help but wonder if she is being molded for some high profile position. That Stanford education can take you pretty far! Not to mention her parent connection. Wonder who she has dinner with regularly? The Gore kids?

So, after waiting through the Mariachi band and countless speakers, out came Hillary. The crowd went wild. For real. I have no idea what she started her speech with because there was so much noise and cameras and cellphones in the air and I had my four year old on my shoulders and it was just a blur. But, when things settled down she really got into it.

She of course, talked about the Bush administration. An easy target. She did mention that it takes a Clinton to clean up after a Bush. Something she said at the last debate. She did talk about the last debate and talked well of Obama. Hillary reminded us that she is very qualified without going into a long arrogant list of why. Shit, we know why. (if you're on the fence, here's a good read: www.huffingtonpost.com/tish-d...10.html) She said she would be happy if either of them got into the White House. It shows the progress this country has made. Now, that is a very nice thing to say. It certainly is true.

She touched on environmental jobs. Saying we have white and blue collar jobs, why can't we have green collar jobs? Good point. She said Germany was leading in solar power development and she was sure they didn't have near the amount of sunny days as Arizona. I hope that was an accidental jab at our moderate Democrat of a Governor, Janet Nepolitano. Arizona should be switching to solar power en masse but no, Janet just came up with a little 10% alternative energy plan of some sort. Embarrassing.

Speaking of blue collar, Hillary wants to build the middle class back up. She said she was sure it was how the country was founded. I forget her exact quote but she really had a good line here about the rich Republicans.

Okay I can go on and on about my opinion on her speech, but I found the link from our local paper. I can't get the direct link to the video but if you follow this link (www.tucsoncitizen.com/) you will see the video list on the left and there is a pic of Hillary under "News & Sports". Click there to watch the speech in its entirety. It's awesome!
There was even a part where someone passed out or something and she asked for help for them from the stage. Chelsea brought the person some water!

This is worth viewing. Especially if you are wondering if you should vote for Hillary or Obama. If you ask me, Hillary is tried and true. And sincere.

Check out the Hillary for President tribe (tribes.tribe.net/hillaryforpresident) and join if you wish. Even if you are still on the fence.

I like that Hillary is not afraid to say EXACTLY what she is going to do. She is just not spewing some crap about when and if. She is saying troops start to come out in the first 60 days, healthcare for all, and she wants to run her campaign on Democrat principles.

Watch the video. She's the coolest.

Hillary
I want Hillary for President but it doesn't look like it's going to happen. It just doesn't seem like America is ready for her and her message. It's depressing. Oh, and you want red? I live in Texas but am an Oregonian here for a temporary job transfer. They even name their freeways after presidents here. I just keep my head down and count the days till I can go back to my blue state.
