In balancing poses like hand stand, head stand, side arm balance, even tree pose, how does one keep from keeling over? In other words, what really is balance? Yoga teachers will often answer this by saying that balance comes from a "connection to the core." This has led some students to do hours upon hours of abdominal work, and still never find balance. I became a Certified Anusara Yoga teacher in 2004. Aqua, Hip "popping" can be caused by multiple things. Yes, some serious, some no big deal. Labrum tear (cartilage) seems possible but unlikely.
