Marv Ellis and his Imaginary Friends (that's my band) is playing a show at Indigo District (13th and Oak) on Halloween night (that's tomorrow!) It's going to be a super fun time. We are playing 2 sets, 1 for the early all ages show (we play at 10), and the other for the late night party (we play at 12:15). In between shows and throughout there will be fire dancers, belly dancers, break dancers, a costume contest, a photo booth, live painting, a VIP room (fancy!)...DJ's will open and close the night, and 2 other bands are playing as well (CRayz Waltz and Lafa Taylor).
$10 gets you into the whole show if you have costume. If you come for the early show you can stay for the late show. I know it's a bit spendy, but it'll be good times, i assure you, and lot's of dancing.
I would love to see you all there!

Here at work I saw the sun rise...turning the sky purple and golden, then shining warm over the buildings, on me, the trees, the neighbors that I can hear talking. I think I learn different things about myself when my sleeping time is lessened. Like one of my good friends says, "you can sleep when yo... read more
So i dreamt last night of black polar bears...two parents and a little one. The father had been captured and drugged and the mother bear was furious. Their eyes sparked with angry electricity; Her's pulsed with strong silver bolts, his flickered with jagged red zig zags because of his altered state. Mother bear ran strong after her love and the one's that dragged him along, it was most certain that she would catch up and regain her mate. He encouraged her as she ran, half delerious mumbling, ...

so i am not that great at keeping an online journal..i am easily (and happily) distracted by the rest of my life. but as maureen reminded me, tribe is a good place to keep connections alive with people i don't see every day, or every week. as long as we keep our interactive, face to face connections vibrant and meaningful, this online "tribality" can be a good tool. i guess i don't have that much to write at the moment, but i will try to keep in touch a little more often. a ... read more
well, here i am with my new tribe site. interesting, the world of online community. and funny that it was the thursday night dinner club (some the people i connect with face to face the most) that got me onto this whole thing. i mean, i would have done it eventually, it does help to keep in touch with friends out of our local areas. but here i am today, spending a couple hours getting this set up. it's a new step for me!
