Anyone else going to Pennsic? (www.pennsicwar.org/penn36/index.html) I'm going, bringing my neys of course.

I'm also bringing some pseudo-starter-neys. Basically it seems whenever I go somewhere, someone asks me how do you get a sound, and they try mine, and I try to show them..but this is usually not a thing one can achieve in 5 or 10 minutes.

So I cut up a narrow pvc tube into random reasonably sized chunks, and I'm planning to carry a couple around with me . The idea being if someone is interested but isn't sure they want to buy one because they aren't able to get a sound yet, I'll give them one of these tubes to fiddle with. So then they can try it out and when/if they get a sound, go buy the real deal. It won't be exactly the same, but ought to be a good start.

So if you are going and see me,and interested, let me know.

PS - I can't claim to be any expert at this, I've only been doing it a few years on a mostly casual basis..but I can help you get a sound or play a simple song, ie Ayazein.
