ahhhhh.... South Africa, how I love the

    </a>
										<div>wow.... after just one day in South Africa I knew I would return as soon as possible....

I love this place, the scenery, the people, the weather, the food, the beaches, the mountains, the wine... the wine....
Oh man oh man, what a great country this is. I could have spent 2 months here no problem, instead of the measly 6 days I got.
Oh well, it's not going anywhere (as far as I can tell)

SOOO, after 9 days of the open ocean, crossing the Atlantic, with rather rough seas, it was good to place my feet on solid land. It was even better to stumble into an organic vegetarian restaurant on upper Long Street and chow down on a Roasted Veggie, Pesto and Avo sandwich. Oh man, when you don't have it, you don't realize how good fresh organic makes you feel! I went back 4 times! Best part was, I asked the beautiful waitress if she knew of a local silversmith to make me a ring, low and behold, right around the corner was a guy!
Not only was he a ring maker, but he travels all over Africa as a certified gem hunter!! He was awesome, spends weeks at a time camping in the bush and going to secret spots hunting out crystals. I commissioned a ring from him, with a huge opal set in it, and bought a whole backpack full of stones from him as well. Presents for all!!!! A truly great hookup, I would love to come back and go on an expedition with him, fuck yeah!!!

The next day failed me not, I started out on an overnight river rafting trip, a 2 hour bus ride up into the mountains, amazingly stupendous mountain country, the views are out of this world. I have to come back to hike the 100s of kilometers of trails, and go camping for days up in the arid deserts and long flowing river valleys.... my god! Before arriving to the camping spot we dropped by for a wine tasting at a local vinyard, and holy shit, got a good buzz on tasting all sorts of excellent South African wines... best part: the bottles only cost about 16 Rand, which is equal to about $2!!! yeah, the whole crew bought a few a piece.

Arriving to the river did not suck, we whiled away the hot afternoon swimming in the slow currents, swilling strait from the bottle and eating strait from the campfire, fresh chutney spiced classic South African style stews... mmm hmmm..... but folks, the true amazing was when the full moon rose over the mountains, shining upon the river, the clouds like brush strokes over the untouched starry sky.... there was nothing like it, I truly felt like I was in Africa at that moment.... this continent has the most amazing feel.... especially at sunset and sunrise....
The night went on, bottles and bottles of wine later found us skinny dipping under the huge full moon, the stars and water shining around us.... ahhhhh, a moment burned into my memory for all eternity.....

The sun rose and we spend a leisurely 4 hours drifting down the slow, wide river, admiring the scenery and mountains in the distance. Spotting Baboons on the sandy cliffs and swimming lazily alongside our rafts in the deep, cool waters of the Breede River.... this is the life, yes the life it is....

Back to Cape Town, which doesn't suck either, and WHAM, its gay pride week! What the fuck! You know what that means? I do, it means party your ass off all weekend, yes, thats what it means!! Sushi for lunch and Jameson for dinner!!
My roommate got hooked up with a bunch of VIP passes to a big ol block party right in the hart of the "Pink" section of downtown Cape Town.... Let me tell you, they know how to do open bars right in this country.... top shelf liquor all night long, however you want it served and in whatever amount. We kicked the night off with a complementary glass of wine at the local Drag show, sang our assess off and spent the rest of the time dancing - hop from the Red Party to the Lesbian bar to The Bronx, to wherever my fancy took me. These South Africans are fucking great! Woo eee, oh its 5am! time to head back to the ship, glad that taxis are cheap!

Woke up feeling great! I must have kept well hydrated.... Spent the last day falling asleep in the sun at Clifton Beach.... ahhhh, pearl white sands and crystal clear waters, the sound of the waves drifting me in and out of infinity...... well, at least I have a tan now!

Have to say, getting back on the ship was no fun compared to the wonderfulness that South Africa brought me. I have to come back to travel up the coast, staying in the little beach towns, hiking to waterfalls and trekking in the bush..... Safaris are available too, so maybe someday I will check that out, but thats not on the top of the list by far......

Lets hope Mauritius can compare.... the beaches will at least, and I hear of this hike up to the fabulous 7 waterfalls of Tamarind....

<div>So, not much to report so far.... oh, wait, thats really not true, maybe just a few things have happened!
After a few stormy Bahama Days, almost getting kicked off the ship due to a missprint in my Brazil Visa, hours and hours of orientation meetings (booooring), setting up my private editing cabin with it's new computer and gigs of music..... Perhaps the most notible event so far was just this last night.... starting off with rounding up a crew of staff and heading off to the "Fabulous Atlanits Hotel" the Vegas of the Bahamas!!! Fucking crazy- huge huge huge gaudy/awesome hotel, with casino and atlantis themed aquarium.... the aquarium was really awesome, the highlight being 2 huge (10' span at least) manta rays, swimming through coral covered ruins, surrounded by every fish imaginable, and some that aren't
Then, off to the Casino, for some fun times of watching people gable!!! Drinking $9 drinks.... which is ironic, because you can by a Liter of Jameson at the liquor store here for $18, yeah, a flaming Liter! Having a blast with a small crew, and watching Bill the Law proffesor get $3500 at blackjack, proptly lose it, go to one last table and leave the casino $1800 up! Mind blowing, having never experience that aspect of money and gambling before.... Then off to a club for dancing until 3 in the moring- promply waking up 3 hours later to help the Vidographer (name of Avi) film the students arrive to the ship, all 730 of them!
And folks, give some love to Zach, because the ratio of girls to guys is 3 to 1... and holy crap, why do these college girls have to be so crazy hot?!?!? And me not allowed to touch them.... at least in theory.....
So we sail this afternoon to Puerto Rico, where me and a group will be heading off to the Bioluminecent Bay and El Junqe Rainforest - hell yes!
As soon as I get a little more settled, I will be posting my pictures and making a slideshow/video composite of the Bahamas portion of my stay, whcih I will either be posting on the net, or sending directly to those of you that have sent me your emails
I am missing all my friends and companions quite a bit, but I manage to fill my time... thats right
Now, however, its sunny as a day in... well.... the Carribean, and I gotta catch some sun before I get back to do a lifeboat drill......

oh, and sorry for the poor spelling, I have to use Internet Explorer (yuck) which doesnt do the courtesy of checking my spelling for me

right arm y'all

    </a>
										<div>Hear Ye! Hear Ye!

Lords and Ladies take heed, for upon this 15th of December, The Castle will be hosting an Olde Time Medieval Yuletide Festive (party)!

All Warriors, Maidens, Kings, Knights, Bards, Jesters, Minstrels, Peasants, Serfs, Barbarians, Wizards, Rogues and the like, are humbly invited to this wintertime feast! We will be having jousting matches around the fire pits, and quaff mulled wine by fireside. Dance late into the night, and perhaps join us in the wee hours of the morning as our Olde Psychedelics get to that giddy point!

I myself will be hosting a BARBARIAN RAID on the local Duke's Estates (aka the new playground at the park)

Come celebrate the cold winter by getting warm inside with friends and libations.

Bring Yultide gifts for all, if ye feel generous! Wine, Mead and Beer are appropriate tribute for the Barbarian Horde!

The Castle is at NE 32nd Ave and Killingsworth, the party goes late and starts whenever!!!

Answer:

An English princess,
with an Egyptian boyfriend
crashes in a French tunnel,
driving a German car,
with a Dutch engine,
driven by a Belgian who was drunk
on Scottish whisky, (check the bottle before you change the spelling)
followed closely by Italian Paparazzi,
on Japanese motorcycles;
treated by an American doctor,
using Brazilian medicines.

This is sent to you by an Englishman,
using Bill Gates’s technology,
and you’re probably reading this on your computer,
that use Taiwanese chips,
and a Korean monitor,
assembled by Bangladeshi workers
in a Singapore plant,
transported by Indian lorry-drivers,
hijacked by Indonesians,
unloaded by Sicilian longshoremen,
and trucked to you by Mexican illegals…..

And that, my friends, is Globalization</div>
