Appropriately Named (blog entry) Today I said goodbye to my lead dog Granite. Never was a dog more appropriately named.

She was about three years old when she came into my life to be the leader for my dog team. At first, I had a lot of problems with her in lead. She would... read more

Re: Coin Bras and cholis (in Big Boobiful Beledi Dancers) How about a strap straight down from the halter tie to the rib band of the bra. You would then have a single straight line down the opening of the choli, instead of an "x". Have you also thought about sewing sleeves onto the bra, so you don't ha... read more

Re: Cab-style for busty dancers? (in Big Boobiful Beledi Dancers) You're welcome! Happy Shopping! I bought my favorite costume through Neckelmann's. It's irridescent lavender.

Re: Cab-style for busty dancers? (in Big Boobiful Beledi Dancers) Hi, Lita,
You just have the "L" and the "E" in the name switched and you have an "E" instead of an "A" at the end. It's www.neckelmanns.com.

Our previous pets (blog entry) While I was looking over my previous posts about my pets, I realized that I wanted to add something about the dogs who shared my life before I started this blog.

The first dog we lost was Timber. He was the only dog Jim had when he married me... read more

Hang on. It's going to be a bumpy ride.

Today I said goodbye to my lead dog Granite. Never was a dog more appropriately named.

She was about three years old when she came into my life to be the leader for my dog team. At first, I had a lot of problems with her in lead. She would frequently try to defy my commands. On one occasion I spent half an hour trying to make her turn right. I would have to set the snow hook, walk to the head of the team, and move Granite into the turn. As soon as I walked back to the sled, she wou... read more

While I was looking over my previous posts about my pets, I realized that I wanted to add something about the dogs who shared my life before I started this blog.

The first dog we lost was Timber. He was the only dog Jim had when he married me and assumed joint responsibility for my team of sled dogs. At first Timber did not forgive me for displacing him to the foot of the bed or for introducing cats into his life. He used to stare at me for hours, as if willing me to march upstairs and... read more

My dog Ivan, a mostly Husky and Malamute mix, is 16 years old today! He's the white guy on the left in the photo (his buddy, Granite, the black dog, is around 17). I've had Ivan and his sisters since they were born. Unfortunately none of his litter mates are still with us, which makes Ivan's advanced age all the more amazing. Apparently there's an advantage to being the runt!

Ivan celebrated his birthday by dumping his food bowl and having an accident on the carpet. (Ivan celebrat... read more

Yep, Jim and I are either masochists or legally insane and incompetent to make our own decisions. We adopted another dog. And not just any dog. Oh no. We had to adopt a Giant Malamute. I always thought that the regular Malamutes were giant enough, having owned several Malamute crosses, but apparently they've managed to breed them larger. And now we own one.

Kira is two years old. Her owner used to board her at the kennel where I work ( so I can't even claim ignorance), but he had to... read more

I knew that something was very wrong when Kitchie seemed reluctant to eat. Even when she ate, she would only finish half or less of her meal. On Monday she stopped eating and drinking at all. After Kitchie had a seizure on Wednesday I had to make the decision to end her suffering. Kitchie was never going to be Kitchie again.

In her prime Kitch was a great lead dog for our team. If we told her to turn right, and she didn't see a trail, she would break trail. If there was a moose up ah... read more
