It is a rare treat when the people close to you teach you how to be a better person not by criticism or preaching or by talking down to you, but rather by their shining example. Alex strives to live his life holistically, and by that I mean he lives his life consistently across the board. Since the day he showed up as a stranger to me in San Francisco over two years ago to today, I have learned countless lessons from his example about integrity, conservation, creative expression, community, simple living, modesty, and love.
